Everyone is so fond of comparing Chernarus to Russia, so I'll do the same. I've read somewhere that handguns that aren't air pistols are illegal for the general citizenry to own except in rare cases. Makes sense that there are more long arms than anything else. As to the police stations and such spawning double barrels/mosins etc. The alternative at the moment is that they spawn M4s or nothing at all, the CZ75 is the only handgun that sort of makes sense for the local police force to use. Assume they are seized civillian weapons used in a crime or some such if it helps you sleep at night. Calm your collective farms and wait till there are more weapon types in game before denouncing what type of guns spawn where.

To get the bolts to stack, right click on them and hit "eject" It then gives them a quantity and they can be stacked. All of the M4 sights appear to attach but they are zeroed wrong and completely useless at the moment. There is a quiver that attaches to the bottom.

Run full pelt at the edge of the rock and mash whichever hot key you have your weapon set to. Normally forces you out of the texture.

I've been hit and knocked out when only wearing a baseball cap. Wake up and find just my cap is ruined. I blame the sporter.

I ended up with a backpack full of LRSs and ACOGs after just one jaunt through the mil tents at NWAF. Ridiculously high spawn rate. yes I took them all and yes I handed them to weaponless new spawns to confuse them.

I get 400 ping on the exp servers :/

Corner to corner can't be 204km though, the whole map is 260ish sqkm.

Used the DayZ DB map for a rough guestimate. My point still stands and is even more valid if it is smaller.

The camo works perfectly if you know what to wear. No vest, no giant fridge backpack, no silly brightly coloured helmets/masks, no shiny glasses, no pasty white skin. Dressing like this: Has saved me more times than looking fabulous with lots of space/armour like this:

One run through NWAF, I go from yellow raincoated axe murderer to heavily armed camo murderer. No need to server hop. I wear all camo for the... camo. So I can be concealed while shooting anything with a payday mask or gasmask. Or anyone associated with said mask wearers. Or if I think they might be associated. Or if it is funny.

A lot of people complain it takes hours to find your friends in DayZ. A conservative estimate of a 16km/h average sprint speed, seems much faster than this but I am allowing for elevation/dodging through towns etc. Corner to corner of the mapped land mass is approximately 21km. That is the furthest possible you can run in a straight line. At 16km/h, that would take you approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Now, running the coast road from the edge of the map past Kamenka all the way to Svetlojarsk is approximately 25km Again conservatively estimating 16km/h despite the lack of elevation, this would take you approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes. All of this is assuming you're conducting some kind of covert ops assault on the blank edge of the map out past Kamenka, the more likely scenario is that you have just both been killed and are fresh spawns looking to catch back up. The spawn coast, since there are no longer Elektro or Kamyshovo spawns, Extends from Svetlojarsk down south to Three Valleys below Solnichny. This is just a hair under 8km. Using the previous estimate of 16km/h for consistency, this will take you around 30 minutes. If it takes you "hours" to get to your friend, you've gone the wrong way, or he has.

I give them presents. 7.62mm presents. Gas mask/Payday mask is a pretty good indicator that someone is up to no good.

I normally breach with a mosin. Have recently been switching to my .45 simply because I'm trying to get used to it before the dexterity patch.

Will use the sporter every day and think of you fondly if this happens. As it is I only find mags when I already have a decked out mosin/sks/M4 and never get to use the little monster gun.

If the sniper is a fair way off, you'll die before you hear the gunshot.

I think the plan was to be several hundred player servers. They are limited to 100 at the moment due to lag issues but I think that's being worked on.

Rock formations around Svetlo. Have had a good gun battle there. Rocks make for an interesting fight.
