    Instant karma? lol yep.

Man, this is a great story. I wish I had revenge like that. Instead, I made the foolish mistake of believing an armed guy with a mask was friendly when I went to ambush him (I had heard gunfire and assumed this was him). I was starting to kill him with my trusty pickaxe (noob here), he pleaded saying he was looking for a bandit. I stopped let him up. He gave me some bolts for my crossbow...and then shot me as I loaded them. No nice revenge for this new guy, but it's refreshing to hear about the justice that was dealt by you, haha.

Why would you leave the North-east corner? Ever?

As someone who just actively started playing, I can say that I'm not really enjoying the North East Corner. I'm not part of a clan and the amount of KOS'ers in the area have made it a little too frustrating to see the area. Although I am thankful for this thread, because now I know that if I want to explore and not have to worry, as much, about Bandits and KOS;ers, I should head west. If only this noob wouldn't get lost so easily in the woods, haha.

That's good to know! I've become familiar with much of the north east coastal cities, as I have been put down repeatedly XD. I feel that once I learn where to find guns and ammo, my time here will be more competitive.

    ethics of first kill

In this particular case, I think you did the right thing. I still try to remain neutral or lean hero depending on the situation, but if I saw 3 guys running at me with guns and NO sign of being friendly, I would have have done the same. Whenever I see a player at or near my equipment level, I always give a verbal warning that they are in my sights, but that I'm friendly. Judging from their reactions, I'll lower my weapon and either help or be on my way, but whenever I see a fully geared group of players, I assume they are bandits looking for kills and will avoid or kill if necessary.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and am starting to become a more active player on DayZ now that I am familiarizing myself more with the mechanics. I have my fun trying to be a Hero in a see of bandits who love KoS on new players, but I have one main problem that is prohibiting me from further enjoying the game and saving, at least, SOME time. I still can't figure how to figure out where I spawn. Half the time I'm in some God forsaken forest and run 20 minutes without finding anything. Are there any tips for figuring out where you are that some of you may be willing to share?
