Hello, I'm a huge fan of survival / zombie games and this game ticked all the boxes. One of the appeals is running around exploring and finding new items as a noob and practicing what I've read in guides and tutorials. I have seen a map link but exploring a totally unknown alien map is immense fun at the moment. Also been killed by players on sight, kinda frustrating but it also adds to the game just how fragile life is as a survivor. One minute I'm in a house looking at some beans wondering how I'm gonna open them without a sharp item and the next full auto weapon opening up and your dead - never forget my first death. Overall as a solo player I've been having a mostly positive experience and stories to share with the game being somewhere in the right direction for me. My beef with the game isn't so much the bugs or players but the amount of times I'm being / been kicked from servers because they are 'clan servers' or the likes. The rules say if you host a server your not allowed to kick people etc etc and yet here I am joining servers being kicked or being voted on to be kicked and there is nothing even in the server titles saying 'don't join'... like I'm much threat anyway! If I see a player I'm usually running in the opposite direction. And then I find myself today being kicked (again) then log into another server and I have lost everything, as if I died but I was in the exact same spot? It happened before to but I put it down to a bug or something. I can deal with death, I can deal with bugs but when unknown things like this happen and I have ny idea why I do have to question it. I should probably add I play low ping servers, I have a great internet connection and my computer is game spec etc etc Anyway thats my thoughts as a new player, I plan to try and stick with the quieter servers until I can find a group of mature UK / European people to play with. :) Llunauk (Also my Steam name if you want to take pity on me!)

I just got DayZ after watching some videos about it on youtube. I thought I'd better do some reading, thanks for the informative guide! It should help me start out now a much better plan of action.
