Well thanks for replies, though Im not convinced anyone read it with required presence of mind. The getting damage from shooting one though I agree with, as I said Im not 100% satisfied with it myself, just best I could think of to get the result I was after.

..and I dont agree with the one about tribes either, would still be same game, you could still kill anyone, just you neede to be bit more carefull about it.
-
"Poisoning of water is bad.. only reason to kill.." And what is the reason to shoot someone? You could still drink cola from cans without risk, or observe the pond for required time for any possible poisoning to vanish. "Friendly fire.. idea of dealing damage.. is stupid and unrealistic.." Then again taking morphine to heal bones is ok?

Im thinking the time of your current log in should have impact on your health more than length of life. This would go against server hopping and logging out of difficult situations. For example first ten minutes after log in youd have -2000 blood than you had at last log out if your last session lasted less than 2 hours (and after 10 mins logged youd have it back). This would compound if you kept logging out/in without 10 mins at one server at a time making excessive server hopping difficult/impossible. After 1 hour logged your max blood would rise to say 15000(youd have to eat to get there), stay one more hour and youd carry that max 15000 to the start of next login and for as long as your each login would last at least 2 hours. Well there could be perks for length of life on top of this, but length of login I think is more important.

My experience is they shut the door then walk through it.

It should be so everything you can do is allowed, except for hacking of course, but within the game. To make DCing whenever you please ok, I´ll make couple of suggestions: -Every time you log in you start with 2000 less blood than you had, and these 2000 you get back after youve been logged for 10 mins. So unless you have endless supply of food you can log out/in only that much in a short while. -Make it so you cant spawn in or next to a building, if you logged out there youll start from some random place nearby. -Obviously, when log out, the character should stay immobile there for a while, you should be able to watch whats going on during this time so you can stop log out if needed.

I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

What about making character very vulnerable for first 15 mins since log in when not a new character, making it die much more easy than now, eating helping less? From 15 mins to 1 hour have it same as now, and after 1 hour improve health from now a little, make the bleeding maybe 10% less and eating add 10% more blood than now, so to encourage staying logged for longer at a time? -
The point of having zombies is to bring in players, keep them interested until they figure the true point of this game which is pvp. Yes? No? Played this couple weeks now, thats how I see it..

I think Day Z needs a ranking system to see how good everyone is compared to others. What I have in mind is relatively simple system.. This system bases points you get or lose on how long you survive without dying or logging out, and killing players with better points than yourself. -Everyone starts with 1000 pts when this system is put to place. -If you log out or die within first minute after logging in you dont win or lose any points in any case. -If you die within first 15 mins since new spawn, you wont win or lose any points in any case. -If you log out after first minute, but before 1 full hour, you donate 0,1% of your points to each player alive in that server at that moment (except to those who log out/die within first minute/15mins of fresh spawn). -When you die it doesnt matter wether you were logged more or less than hour, you donate 0,1% to each player who was logged and alive 1-60 mins, those over 60 mins you donate 0,2% of your points. -When you kill someone with more points than you, you get 5% of that difference. -Going outside of map, or no action for over couple minutes you stop recieving points from others for the rest of that session. So as long as you stay in same server longer than a minute, 15 with a fresh spawn, you earn points from each player that dies during that time (except those within 1 or 15mins). You wont lose points logging out after 60 mins, but you gather more points from others after 1 hour mark. Not fully thought through, so needs some adjustments probably, but would very quickly show how good everyone is in this game, I believe.

Why theres no proper competitions running? Dont know what exactly can be done, but as an example have xx ppl spawn at same time into certain area with same gear(make it so no one can have any gear laying around somewhere), having only this strict area where you must stay, no log offs, and then see who is last one alive. Another "idea": have xx number of people spawn at same time, x hours competition, who is alive with most kills (zombie+survivor) at the end. Maybe make such comps start every 1/2/xx hours depending on popularity, have some point system and then those with most points are put together into one session at the end of month to see who is best? Obviously if single player comps, then also team comps. Single comps with strict rules about no co-operation.

When I push "/" I dont get a place to write into, just options 0 and 5 and from those more options.
-
Hm. I went to options now and tried changing it and when I hit shift+7, it added "SHIFT+7" next to "/" , and now it works. (When I push the / on numpad it still doesnt work though). But anyway, resolved, thank you.

No. The character moves if I do that.

But shouldnt I be able to talk, to find if there is someone in range? Or no chat box means there is no one close? But I see others communicating.
