If you aren't even going to read the thread, then don't make a comment. It's very clear you don't know how this engine works. Yes, poor Scripting is easily the excuse. I actually wouldn't call it poor scripting. ArmAII and Battleye were simply not meant to have DayZ on it. -

It never made it worse. If it was worse as you said people wouldn't haven't flocked to it like they did, and still do. Many players don't know Zombies have a LoS, or how the mechanics work. To say "Its going to make it worse." Is false, its an assumption. DayZ is about taking your time is my point. You stated players don't wanna spend 30 minutes doing something. That's hardly dedication. -

Shit difficulty? It wasn't that hard then. It's not hard now. A lot of people want zombies to be just as much of a threat as bandits. The debate here is, "Are zombies easier now?" Yes, they are indeed very very easy compared to what they used to be. Was DayZ unplayable then? No. The difficulty curve actually encouraged players to play at night also, as the visuals were down, and it was a lot of fun to take your time as you knew if you were spotted by zombies it was likely certain death. And thats how it should be. If a zombie sees you I shouldn't just go "Eh, run through this building, wrap around a corner and BOOM, all better now." I want the fear of DayZ I had before and the tension that everyone felt. Noone is making you waste time, this is what DayZ is about. If you don't like it, maybe you should be playing a different game? I did play WoW, for a long time. I ran in a guild who did alt runs with Premonition back in WOTLK doing LK HM 25man and other raids. I don't know why you brought up Wow besides to distract from the conversation, so lets stay on topic eh? -

This is how DayZ started and it was never a problem. by no means is DayZ meant to only be played for '30 minutes' anyway and it takes a lot of time and effort to get anything done or accomplished. -

I think there should a be trigger sequence to a character, not a building.Zombies are currently tied to buildings. So lets say, as it currently stands, zombies spawn when you come within 200m of a building. Lets say every shot you take gives you roughly a .001% chance to spawn a horde of zombies from your current point randomly in a direction 200m away. These zombies then RUSH to the last location you fired from, and aggro depending upon the normal DayZ factors, sight, sounds, night, day, ect. -

I have to agree. Zombies with LoS make the game incredibly easy. Not to mention it only makes them inconvenient, posing no real threat. However, on the plus side. This means people who camp the coast have a much harder time sniping players because they don't need to sneak, they just run through the cities and lose zeds, never giving bad coastal bandits a chance to shoot anyone. -

Can't just destory it. Your best bet is to empty all the tents, save the tents, blow up the helicopter, then flatten the tents and next restart it will all be gone.

If you are too far north, I know there are some fields to the NW airfield, they rarely spawn up there. I have found maybe two or three, mostly around Devils Castle. I find most of my choppers south of the airfield, near Starry and I have even seen one in Vybor stuck inside of a barn. Crazy. -

If you want some positive light. I doubt DayZ Devs are going to do anything to you. Earlier today Rocket was talking about the possibility of Private Servers/Private Hives was a possibility to help combat the hacker problem. (Because ArmaII and Battleye are not designed for DayZ) This strongly suggests they have been talking about it behind the scenes for sometime and just haven't given a definite yes or no. I think the Devs understand also, but just do what Rocket wants them to do because this is Rockets game. Thank you. M O N S T E R is a good friend of mine. -

Problem is, you have too. Sorry, you follow the same rules as everyone else. I really hope for your sake you don't get blacklisted. Not saying I agree with the rules, I am just saying you or I don't get to makeup rules as we go along. We go with what DayZ Staff tell us. As you agreed to DayZ's ToS when you wanted to be whitelisted through them. Just because people ask and beg Dev's to change the rules doesn't mean you should make their job harder by banning people you suspect might be hacking and then threads like this pop up and cause them more problems to deal with to decide if you are following their rules or not. It doesn't help anyone. -
Bandits are apart of the survival. Zombies pose no real threat to players at all besides an inconvenience and reality check. Sula, your Kindness is refreshing. Have some beans.

To chip in as a server admin... Rocket and the DayZ team doesn't want you banning anyone ANYWAY without proper information first to prevent incidents such as the one going on in this thread right now. Infact, You can't ban someone to 'check the logs'. If reported, you will be warned to remove the ban, and failure to adhere to the warning would result in a blacklisting. The only time you can ban anyone is malicious speech and racism. Beyond that as an admin, you have no powers besides you run the server and have a home for your clan. Even with or without the video you still can't just ban individuals. Getting 'one' potential hacker, who can go around your bans by the way, is not worth banning ten potentially innocent players. -

Rocket did say "Either he will finish it, or someone else will." A big passive hint to games like WarZ. He said by the end of this year he wants a standalone. Which will most likely be the Beta. -

To chip in. Rocket said earlier today after being Thunderdomed during a interview, that was he going to seriously consider Private Servers and Private Hives. So this hacker problem might suddenly plummet. http://dayzmod.com/f...ew-with-rocket/ This means however, people would have to find servers with less admin abuse and playing like DayZ would. I know if the private server goes up, I will likely keep the Hive public and whitelist the server, this way I could monitor who comes in and out easier. -
