12000 - Max Blood. < 9000 - Sussceptible to "one shot Knock out" from zombies. < 8000 - Colour and sound begin to fade. < 5000 - May fall Unconscious. < 4000 - Black and white screen, loss of much hearing capability. 0 - Player Dead. This also says nothing about Incaps, or bones breaking, or bleeding chances. Which I assume can happen at any point regardless of blood level.

Would you like a gold star to? Zombies can one shot KO under 9k blood I do believe.

Copters are in. Yes. However two of them is questionable. -
Should kill messages be turned on to help detect hackers?
U.B.C.S. Ravin replied to miket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This I am a bit wary of. While I would use it and understand its purpose and enjoy using it to catch hackers. A lot of other admins might abuse this fairly easily. As the HIVE is not local, but worldwide, this could cause a problem and create a conflict of interest for admins who run a clan or other factors. Too many unknowns. I think the death logs are enough for admins to be able to track hackers and report them. Hard work and time consuming, sure. But we are admins. We signed up for it. Wasn't meant to be easy. -
Should kill messages be turned on to help detect hackers?
U.B.C.S. Ravin replied to miket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well, Its very easy to compare Logs to a point that you can track GUID's through deaths. If someone doesn't die or disconnect when mass deaths start happening. Its easy to cross reference names from that timeframe to another timeframe to help you indicate who a hacker is. It also helps you find their names easier, search their inventory, see if anything is suspicious. Track times they log in and out of the server, but at the very least admins would have a lead to go off of. -

I would hope at the very least they should be in the logs for admins to review. But out in the open they are of little use besides flaming IMO. -

Haha yes. I would say bandits are the core antagonists also. My Clan and I try really hard to be what we view as 'proper' bandits. However, this being a sandbox game you can only go so far with what you want to say what something is because its all just subjective to the players. I think a lot of people were expecting another zombie game, and not expecting Bandits to be... I don't wanna say bandits because a lot of them AREN'T bandits. Assholes. Yeah, Lets go with that. I hold my standards too high for fellow bandits. <_< Many people say my view is bias and I do agree with them. I am in that regard. -

There is no bandit problem. Its apart of the game. That much I am willing to point out and say. Bandits will, and always will be, apart of DayZ. It wouldn't be a core part of the game and listed on the frontpage if this wasn't the case. -

Discussing current rules and defending their reasoning has nothing to do with dribble, defending hackers or shaming anyone. I am pretty sure you only read a few posts before jumping into the fray. I wish I had a Willey Wonka photo to post to you saying "You must be new here." Right, we can assume why, but we don't know for sure. I have actually seen very little reasoning for this through many of the Dev posts besides remarking. "We don't want you to be the judges and executioners." I feel like I am getting half the story and I can't help but wonder. I know there is a privilege to be had here and I am fine with that, but still even if you do something as a privilage you kinda deserve answers. I am sure even if they said "We don't trust you." many admins would stop being admins and ect, ect. However, silence is also not a good thing when you have an outcry. Which I completely agree with there needs to be better defined does and don'ts. A lot of the consisting 'rules' are written by community members that were just stickyed. -

That is a good question. When I think about DayZ at this point, I can easily get all my equipment back and top rated gear in maybe three or four hours. Once you have a pretty good understanding of the game its not that hard. Its just another game. I want to really hear Rockets conversation with the DevTeam and his explanation of why "I do not trust Server Admins." -

I do too. A lot of people claim this is the worst hacking they have seen in any game... Which is not true. I remember admining for Minecraft in its Alpha-Beta stages and it was really, really bad then. However, that game had private databases per server, hosts, so on. So the experience was much less of a hassel. I think the big deciding factor here what limits server admins from having too much power is the HIVE system and how information is carried from server to server. I am really hoping also ArmaIII and the Standalone (suggested to come out in Dec.) handles this problem. A lot of good information about hackers and how it works can be located here.. 800 posts. Fuck yeah. -

I know Jacking Battleye isn't difficult, and ultimately it doesn't matter what scripts are needed because it makes the Scripts invisible to Battleye as they use memory from battleye... Lemme find the post that explains it. "The problem at the moment though, isn't Battleye failing (Well, kinda) It's the fact you can use a "hook" to inject into the Client-side Battleye process and typing a few lines of code that effectively make all the scripts you execute invisible to the server log, which means you can't get kicked, banned, etc. Once they find the memory space getting "hooked" onto, they release an update and a mass ban rolls out." I really do like the idea however if battleye can fix there problems... Then I suppose hacking wouldn't be so difficult to deal with right now, but it also goes in hand with how ArmaII's engine is open to the clients... making this all ridiculously easy for hackers. -

Glad to hear you got your problem fixed JFZ. I think of JFK everytime I see your name. It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the Battleye 55 error is related to vehicles. Many people say its from Choppers crashing or cars crashing also. Explosions, or related scripts to cars. -

I am curious about this suggestion. What scripts do players actually run while in game besides the ones that connect to the server and how will this suggestion combat battleye jacking? -
Kicked off by BattlEye: Script Restriction #55
U.B.C.S. Ravin replied to kyriel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah. I was reading about that also. A helicopter had crashed and it threw everyone out of a server. Definately needs to have battleye fixing their stuff. -
Not your game. no.

Positive. You have to rejoin after the restart to see them. If you relog, disconnect, get kicked, lose connection, whatever, you won't be able to see it. I am unsure if it is limited to one person, or multiple. I have seen it many times when I have relogged into a server (As I admin some also.) It could be either A. Its limited to the first person who connects in through the 'Briefing' list. B. multiple people who get in through the briefing menu. C. whoever gets in after a restart within ten minute(?)(Unsure about the timeframe.).
-
If you first log into a server after a fresh restart the client data from the server will be sent to you, causing choppers to be burning. If you log/relog in later, the server stops sending this data after a certain point (Like ten minutes or something?). Basically, if you manage to get into a server after a restart, you will see giant smoke and light coming from choppers, allowing you to spot them much easier.

So, this took me a bit of time to track down, but I am unsure why Support is not listed at the top of the page (Or at least the bottom). Suggesting this is for the KB alone, but it has a lot of information useful to members as well. -

U.B.C.S. Ravin replied to DarkRaven123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think a bit more about ArmAII and about how its game engine is run could be useful on this thread. Edit, For example, How the game is a Trusting Engine. How most of your data is store on the client, not the server. How the HIVE operates in DayZ and how loot is carried from one server to another. Stuff like that. -
I said I shouldn't say anything, you however. I am unsure. I wouldn't say at all you don't know anything about it, because you could tell me you turn into a ferret to climb walls and I would believe you. Lol.
