Another thought I had (which is probably here somewhere but I'm on my phone atm sorry if double suggestion) more civilian clothing that has storage like mil-grade gear, I think I get KoS'd more because I can't store items properly in civilian gear. Just saying also more black clothing options especially for night servers -
I think the issue is that UN helmets are easier to come by than ballistic helmets. I (stopped wearing them because of this thread) find them all over not just at mil-spawns

Guy shoots at me (no weapons on just trying to duck a sniper) I run up stairs and tell him I'm friendly he goes ok. Three of his buddies show up I get hand cuffed force fed and they tell me they don't have a key and send me on my way I leave they shoot me. The hell was the point of that /slowlybecomingakosplayer

Over all I think under garments would be nice specifically removing undershirts (for males hasn't seen a topless lady yet?) the point of my default wearing earth tones is that I'm trying to be a lowly visable as possible. So when a zombie attacks me and I'm bleeding right after spawn I have to tear my T-shirt into rags now I have this bright ass white shirt on, I'd rather be bare chested as my skin tone is far less visable than a white shirt -
I should auto loop a message of love and happiness because as in real life in dayz life is short, it should however only be shouted in German because life is also terrifying and confusing

Did a quick search and didn't see any posts about this. I've notice even when crouched you make as much noise as standing, has there been any mention of reducing noise while crouched our outright implementing a sneak mode. Would be much more helpful especially when certain surfaces make more noise than others alerting players and zombies alike.

Realistically you wouldn't move much in prone, but in a crouched stance you move slower you have to be more deliberate with movement which is why this is the default sneaking stance for video games it also makes you a smaller target etcetera. But yes a "sneak" button would be nice. Also looked into it in SA left shift is a toggle for walk/run while in mod it's labeled as "sneaking"

It's to each his own yes, and it's alpha and there ain't much else to do yes, but I don't shot first infact I might start if I don't keep getting shot in te back, lol.

I believe you're right but that's also coming, (building at least) and honestly what's needed, things like construction, trading safe zones persistent storage, these are all legitimate survival concepts. Especially once loot spawn is fixed and server restarts stop. In a real post apocalypse you'd first scavenge gear, the (just like a real survival situation) build a base camp. Shelter, storage, fire/cook pit. You'd actively attempt to build a group with fellow survivors. Creating these scenarios is what will expand this game. Rather than the end game being kill everyone it will be survival, a four-six person group would break down tasks (gear scavenging, hunting, etc) The problem I have with what I've seen of epoch is a currency system. Having a safe city where player cannot attack but can trade is going to become a must especially when they introduce vehicles and such. But that also warrants that bandits will prey on it as well. Simpler suggestion, pacifist mode! Invulnerability for login through please wait, 15-20second after you actually gain control of your toon. But you can't attack during this time frame either. Same for log out, unless in player combat. Zombie Afro should at some point get fixed where it no longer is possible a zed from 30 minutes ago is still agro. Simple tick for player combat, if player A's targeted you and fired at you he can kill you if you try to combat log, no fire = no death. Just because he saw you doesn't always mean you saw him.

Yes and no, more NO! Give the average "child" a can of paint and it's "look under your chairs! Dicks! Dicks for everyone! On the walls of Elektro! The entire runway of NWAF dicks for days!" Simplest option add a texture pack like the mosin spray with color x, add color x! Camo! You could work with UV but dicks happen more often than not. Or I suppose just allow paint textures on weapons only, or possibly skinning for weapons, so long as te image file doesn't effect performance of the weapon! I would so like to be able to black out my melee weapons though. But overall I like your train of thought and foresee a similar effect system when buildables come into play

Well it's going to happen, only way to stop it is get your own server. As Rcon for Dayz advances so too will abuse. It's really all about being an adult. It's also about what they allow in Rcon in my CS1.6 days I was very pick who had access an each admin had to show me they could handle it for at least a week before I gave them permanent access. But it also gave us the freedom to give hackers the whatfor ass needed. We did all kinds of mean shit to hackers. But as long as you were a good player you never had to fear the mods

The problem is the dmg to armor ratio. Each event (which they've addressed will be fixed) causes damage to the item before te player. And they know it needs fixing. They realize the odds of a 2 foot fall breaking your leg are slim. However we also have to factor in another factor which isn't explained out right. I can take a two story dive naked and take 0 damage to anything (naked meaning default) grab an axe a gun and a back pack instant death. So yes it's obscene and yes they are working on if

I do believe the mosin round is an oversight. I think however I should point out the oracle project is producing a 3rd person camera I. Real life and over all this is a survival simulator yes the guns should be more accurate, but the game is after all in alpha. Sure your poll is bias but that's ok I do feel it's not broad enough though. The biggest problem is the engine, you can only get away with spawning so much at once while accommodating for 40 people geared down to the nines, Switching the 51's to the 54R's wouldn't be a big deal. But realism is a dual edged blade. It also not required for immersion, it seems like it is in alpha but what else do we have but to nitpick when "end game" takes roughly an hour to reach in alpha, "90%" of players KoS and role playing is about as easy as starting a fire on the bottom of the ocean. Also a variance in round isn't "realism" that's in accuracy. That terrible accuracy in hand guns is about right. Pistols are close quarters guns "also the long horn is technically a rifle) and it's one of the few features that I think a skill modifier should've applied to. Joe Schmo wouldn't be able to hit the broadside of a barn the first time he picked up a hand gun. Firearms skill should go up with use. Ammo loading, loading a round into a Chamber is well about as fast as, right click, hover, click, loaded. Magazines well, I can understand wanting a slight delay on the other hand I'd rather find a gun with an empty magazine then a full magazine across the map from where I found the gun. (That's one of the few things that bugs me. "Shits zombies attacking better scatter my magazines around just incase I need to die!") However I can load my .45 magazine irl fairly quickly but I've been doing it awhile. As far as the over all game it's a survival simulator with zombies and assholes. Take those out and you don't even need guns. Honestly it's alpha, I'd say just give it time. -
While in the UK they may not be common, stateside they've become a staple for backpackers, hikers, cyclists, beach goers etc, most sporting good stores and every walmart carries them. The largest tac grade pack the provide from the Camlebak brand looks to be 45l with a 3L bladder. And plent of space for gear. The classic models which is just the bladder can actually be worn under a backpack if I recall correctly. Now as far as craftable ones! All the canteens I've found are milspec which means the would already (assuming it's a universal design and this doesn't only apply to US armed forces) have a spout opening in the cap which is designed for drinking hoses attached to gas masks. So the IV line or possibly throughout in drinking hoses would work fine. Easy fix to not have to sacrifice backpack/tacvest slots. Belts, a quick view of any military video you'll see canteens attached to belts. Tactical belts as a clothing option that include a holster room for a canteen (or any 2x1 item) and a couple slots for magazines/ammo not only would this replace the chest holster (which looks cool but takes that precious vest slot. 0.02

Weapon melee should be handled by a hot key not a function change. Would function just like any other FPS/TPS let's day "lalt" with no melee attachment you swing the butt end round and whack your foe, with an attachment a solid jab forward, which of course also pushes your foe back a bit, with any luck you kill your target assuming it's a zombie, massive bleeding for players is implied bayonets are normally not cutting tools the exception being modern combat knife/bayonet configurations. They were designed specifically for stabbing this allows the user to impale the target and follow up with a killing shot. Melee vs. A player without a bayonet should only knock a player out. Two to three blows from the from one from behind with pistols one regardless with rifles and the sawn off shotgun ( I say tho because programming the shotgun in two ways for direct damage seems like a tricky proposal, as you can saw off any shotgun, unless it registers as a different item when you saw the barrels off) Not only does a hot key provide quicker access to melee but it doesn't leave you defenseless against long range targets during the switch

Again I'm sure as stable catches up to the level the mod is that things will change, but still I'm a nice guy I'll share some supplies if possible then move on. Idk just can't wait for more features and actual to servers

Fairly nice size city with a big building in the middle there is an archway with a statue on top and most of the roads are hilly! Where the heck am I? I can't seem to find a sign to tell me

I think that just toggles walk/sprint in stand alone I'll have to check though, I may also just be used to years of left shift for sprint, crouch to sneak?

I'm not talking about being silent, just quite such as a slow movement toggle or something I'll hunt down some videos though.

Personally I normally find SKS or Mossin with in ten minutes of each like the 7.62x39 is over abundant while to date I've only found 17 "7.62" (x51 I think) rounds for the mossin. PLO-1 or whatever it's called and long distant scopes seen to be fairly common and even with out with a little practice these are fairly accurate rifles. Pistols I reserve for interiors and countryside zombies when in sure no other players are around to hear gun shots.

I wasn't saying to not take your time, not that an open door doesn't make you go on high alert. But I always play with head phones I stay low and I know where the high traffic areas are. Honestly after having examined both air fields I can survive in towns all over and never touch them. No need for cherno or Elektro and AK's are awesome but my sks works from a lot further away.
