What Do You Want to See When you die?
Zombie Milkman replied to CANUCKinNZ's topic in General Discussion
How about just letting us know why. Infection, bullet, meteor, etc. There have been three deaths that were a mystery to me. Would just like to know why I am dead. -
Hmm, not sure I like that on a big picture level. Selfishly I love it. but to logic it out: Players spawn, gear up, get tent, pack tent with ammo, mosins, etc. Cheaters spawn, dupe their friends gear, pack tent with everything. After 1 week smart players go to most remote areas along the fringes of the map, or the mountains, etc., and spend time hunting for camping tents. All the action moves from the towns to the rural areas. Why risk NE or NW AFB, Novo town hall, etc., when you can find everything you need in one tent along the border of the map?
-
I don't know the specs yet, but if you respawn does your tent go away?

Zombies are weak, they need to be stronger...
Zombie Milkman replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
Fair, but the mod was not this game, it was Arma which is at it's core a team death match fps. This game is not supposed to be that. It should be all about survival, and centered on Zeds. I have played experimental servers as a rule for almost 2 weeks now and they upped the Zed count, and they increased their aggression and I think their speed. If I look over my shoulder at them they actually gain ground on me when I am in turbo run which I never noticed before. I don't want campground Kumbiya, but I don't want a worse version of COD with a few tissue paper zombies either. I will agree that the answer is not making zeds harder to kill. IMO, the answer is A LOT more zombies. And when I say A LOT, I mean "the current amount" X 10. It would drive many people in bambi mode to seek out the smaller fringe towns, and the better geared players towards the bases because you need ammo to hole up in a safer small town. You can't do that unless you go to the higher zed concentration zones. Picking off bambis with your coveted bullets will become a wasted strategy. A group of armed guys taking out a sea of zed at a base would attract a sea of zombies due to the noise (and this should be adjusted still) to the base so they can't stay there... I could see where more zombies would really drive the game dynamic. -
Were you on an experimental server? Yesterday I found some storage units with more than the usual number of helmets all together, but it was down by the water in the town with the pier. I figured someone was duping useless stuff.

Up until Jan of this year it was unplayable for most. I bought the game in January and every other patch made it unplayable. Today, it is playable, but I don't find it enjoyable in part because of the cheaters, and the mindless WW1 tactics. Most people do not squad correctly, use their mic... They just run around without a plan. One game alone with a full side MOST of the players for the other team went to snipe. That annoyed the hell out of me as they had all the hiding holes scoped out and were just being ultra annoying byatches, until some of us went to our airburst, and we not only wiped the landscape with their bloody corpses but many decided not to rejoin. But that's BF4. Here is entirely different. I've set up one of my toons with LR scope & Mosin and am contemplating the best place to snipe some towns. I haven't done it yet... But just a matter of time. One question - how fast do the LR scopes stay useful? I assume they get wasted after a while.
-
I didn't find the crazies, but I no longer find it funny when people exchange rocks and rotten fruit for the equipment. Talk about deflating when you go into what should be either cleanly stripped, or loaded to the bones, and all it is is crap.
-
Wow, really well said. I came into this game (if you find some of my earlier posts) carrying a Battlefield4 mentality regarding snipers. I loathed them in those kinds of games and got half way decent at killing them - enjoyed it immensely! But this game's backdrop, back story, environment, setting... whatever you want to call it, makes sniping a legit tactic. If you team with a few people who do the close range snatch and grab while you pick off your prey that seems like a very real end result of this kind of world. The BF4 folk who do it... just afraid to get close. This game though... I see the role play ascpect as totally acceptable, assuming you want to do that sort of thing.
-
It has happened, so you may find it funny, but you aren't nearly as anonymous as you think you are. But let's assume everyone in a situation like that on the legal side of things plays fair (having been in courtrooms I can tell you they don't, but what's practical experience got to do with anything, right?) If the person did do that, and an offhand comment was the last straw that pushed him/her over the edge, would you want to be the one who threw that final straw on the pile? Again, almost 0% chance of that happening like I said earlier... but there are some things better left unsaid. If I read MW's response correctly he/she agreed with the idea, just best not to throw stuff like that out there. And fwiw, I respect your right to disagree with that. I hate these boogers as much as anyone here. They are selfish 5 year olds with attitude problems, but worse, trapped inside semi adult bodies. Some are actual adults which makes what they do way worse. Peace.

Yeah, this. This was the first forum I saw cheaters referred to as hackers but there are some who alter database info or game algorithms to cheat. The last two earn the label. The rest, which is the vast majority do not. They are more like the stooge cohorts to the Riddler and Penguin in the old Batman TV series with Adam West. I've wondered for a while if game developers should just install an easy button on their games. The cheater could speed through and win and then move on to some other game leaving the rest of us alone. Or the devs here could let server admins police their products. Ooh, my mind exploded!
-
MW, I am really sorry to hear about your friend and you have my sympathy. I know what you mean by the 'leaving alone' part, because I went through something similar when I lost my Dad when I was 9. I needed my space but everyone suffocated me, for the right reasons in their hearts but I really needed space from most of the people around me so I could survive the loss of someone who was also my best friend besides being my father. I hope you get your space to heal. Peace.

Mad Wookie - I completely get your frustration, but you shouldn't tell someone to go off themselves. Sure, only a 0.00001% they'd take your advice, but legally speaking you opened yourself up in the process if the idiot did it. Take the high road next time and just tell him to enjoy drawing his crown and pasting it to his forehead so he can be King for a day or whatever. Remember, you are trying to describe a rainbow to a blind man. The cheaters don't get the pot of gold we do. They are their own punishment.
-
You have my beans sir. The cheaters use the easy button and in the process cheat themselves out of the best part of the game. So let them cheat. They screw themselves but are too ignorant to see it.
-
Ok, I am having loot spawn issues now. Anyone else? I am on the exp servers if that helps at all.
-
I find 45 rounds everywhere. Suddenly I can't find a 357 magnum to save my life. I also can't find the 45 mags.

Chernarus is starting to look empty
Zombie Milkman replied to King Raptor's topic in General Discussion
I play experimental, hardcore now without exception. I must be going crazy then because NWAF, Vybor, etc., I run into hostile KOSers all the time and they are usually looted out. I ran a loop several times on different servers from the sw corner, north to nwaf, then east to Novo, then along the NE towns. I found barely enough food and soda to live on, very few clothing upgrades... but man did I have to dodge some unhappy kiddies. Did I miss a memo? :D -
The more I play this game the more realistic it seems for someone lone wolfing it to snipe. Not only do you get the opportunity to see if the person you killed is alone, but you keep yourself as far from harm as possible. Finding a good spot that covers a great deal of area is good. The question is how you want to do it, just KOS with no rhyme or reason, or try to pick off obvious bandits? It does sound boring though no matter which path you choose unless it is as part of an organized ambush.

Random Character Wipes/Resets when Joining the same Official Server? [Possible Bug/Discussion]
Zombie Milkman replied to alaskafish (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
This happened a few times yesterday to me, said "respawning" but I saved my character, I think, by cancelling each time. I waited half an hour, and then no problem. I play strictly on the experimental servers right now. So I have gotten hit by some bugs, but overall I like them. -
Well, people did ask for more zombies
Zombie Milkman replied to archamedes's topic in General Discussion
Up Front: Yes, that needs to change. What you can do about it for now - Outside of the unexpected server reset (SOL) you can log off in unlikely zombie spawn points. It is a workaround, not a fix, but what else can you do? -
Well, people did ask for more zombies
Zombie Milkman replied to archamedes's topic in General Discussion
Oh, I noticed more zombies. This was the first time I had 3 chasing me after a gunshot. Now I feel the need to get the internally silenced hand gun. Thank you devs BUT.... Need more zombies. I want to go to NWAF and see a sea of zombies after a firefight between snipers and wall clippers. Maybe even add a zombie milkman. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Zombie Milkman replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
You blew my mind again. Server admins can't ban hackers? WTF?!? -
Is the update as bad as everyone says?
Zombie Milkman replied to d.walker43's topic in General Discussion
My experience so far has been similar play except for: 1) My first encounter with an invisible zombie east of the nw military base 2) LMB glitch? I think that is what everyone is referring to. Basically, I can't fire after a while. That is kind of a drawback. I have also had an issue with my keyboard/mouse mapping going back to default which I usually find out when a zombie starts chewing on my ass, but what else is new. It is strangely similar to being married over 5 years. BTW, can those of you tired of the whining, or who feel the need to go on about how your top of the line machine = no issues... can you just refrain from chiming in with that fluff? It does nothing to enhance this forum, just adds to the clutter. Grow some Zen and chill (IMO of course). -
To the "friendly" guy who killed me and took my MP5
Zombie Milkman replied to Evaris's topic in General Discussion
True story. I am trying to raise my bottle to collect water in Berezino, can't do it. I try to raise my weapon. Can't do it. I try raising anything - can't do it. I think back to the safe haven cheat I read about right on this board and start having dialogue with *no one* about giving me a break, disabling their cheat, letting me drink, not worrying because I only have an axe and am so friendly I am not a threat anyway, etc. Now I am on the top of the construction site south/east of the city, so I am exposed, and in prime looting area (I expect I will die.) Well sure enough, this guy walks out of the stairwell with a gun, does not say a word, and then I see the text, "Here, here's some food and water, and a gun." He gives me a Mosin, food, water, extra ammo, then leaves. I say thank you. Friendly lives babe! -
Make server restart warning compulsory
Zombie Milkman replied to General Zod's topic in General Discussion
Regarding server hoppers... So I got dumped by a server restart... Things take a while... I got tired of waiting. I am relatively new so how long does it take to get back on? It seems like forever. -
To the "friendly" guy who killed me and took my MP5
Zombie Milkman replied to Evaris's topic in General Discussion
I feel your pain man, but in the end if everyone on this thing was friendly why come back? The zombies? You could kill the entire server load of zombies with an axe... The PvP thing is the only reason to be here. I have not killed a single player yet, been killed though. I think half the reason I am doing it is to see what my breaking point is before I just start capping anyone not naked.
