Why nobody want to play in the night time?
Zombie Milkman replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
Not true. I would mostly play in the dark, as would many others if you spent some time actually reading fellow poster's responses. The cheaters ruin the beauty that is night time in this game, and the harder time you have spotting the cheaters really underscores the problem. You would think that the cheaters being able to easy-button the game would make them get bored quickly and go away, but apparently many of them never get tired of it. They just keep coming back because winning something you never earned is like bacon flavored chocolate to someone like that. -
My favorite part of that is when the zombie leans back and you just know he's making his little roar with half raised hands, then comes barreling for you. It reminds me of the scene from Monty Python/Holy Grail where the knight rushes the wedding guards at the gate from a long way off. They see him coming but he always seems far away, then at the last second he leaps on them from no where. BTW, if you ever spend time watching them, notice how fast they close on you (easily 2x speed) and how they seem to spring up slopes that cause you to slow to a crawl sometimes. Then as they get closer game-physics seem to adjust to something more believable, almost as if the devs were helping the zombies cheat to make it harder for us while they work on the mythical better zombie.

What if you are a marble? There's only one side.

After another Benny Hill chase scene involving a multitude of zombies I wondered what the maximum possible zombie count could be driven to. I would like to issue a challenge to my fellow posters to get as many of the zeds chasing you as possible, and if you can get a screen shot or video even better. I know you can add to the crowd by shooting in large spawn areas - like Electro - and running by as many as possible, but I seem to max out around 8 to 10. If you are in tight areas some drop off after losing sight of you, so I think larger towns with lots of flat open areas would be the best environment to get the hoard going, and killing some along the way may spawn more as has been noted by many of us. I am also curious about server impact and ping rate the bigger the hoard gets. Btw, with the wipe coming, and somewhat meaningless time between, this seemed like the right moment to issue the challenge. If interested give a thumbs up, then come back and post your results. Thanks!

Do you carry a handgun when you have an automatic rifle?
Zombie Milkman replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
I have been debating this myself. Six slots for a handgun and two mags... Seems more and more worthless every day. -
I don't know why I went fake Aussie. It seemed appropriate at the time, but not being Australian no doubt I ballsed if up. The kid sounded like he crapped his pants when he saw me though. Even if I was a KOS guy, I would have let him live on principle. Men don't kill other men taking a dump. It's a 10 point deduction on the Man Card if you do.

They will be very popular with the ladies....

I had a new spawn run into a tent I was in at NWAF. He had nothing. I had a 101. He was talking to another buddy the whole time so I heard him coming all the way. When he sees me he says, into the mic "blah blah blah blah in this tent... HOLY SHIT!" I say in a fake Australian accent, "Have a good one mate! She's all yours 'cause I don't kill new spawns. G'day!" And blew out of there.

Mistakes you see people do all the time in DayZ
Zombie Milkman replied to anderswhk's topic in General Discussion
Isn't that kind of an exploit though? IRL you can't type or mind meld. If you choose to answer, they will know where you are. Of course I could extend that to groups using teamspeak which is even better than having football mics in your helmet. And for the record, I use teamspeak. My brain just exploded from a truth rush. -
Why nobody want to play in the night time?
Zombie Milkman replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
LOL and good point, but think about it for a second.... who doesn't have a monitor that can play this game on normal? Who can't turn the lights off or dim them in the room they are in? Do they have a modern rig, mouse, keyboard, Filla sneakers and nipple rings by Sergio Armani yet only have a green CRT monitor from a 1981 soviet block farm stand sitting on their desk top? No. I bet only 0.000001% of the population playing this game need to move their gamma or brightness settings more than a little to the left or right because: 1) Technology 2) Not 1981 3) Technology -
Why nobody want to play in the night time?
Zombie Milkman replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
While nightime is brighter than before, there is still an unfair advantage for people who use gamma exploits. It also makes it harder to detect someone who uses the fast movement cheat which considering the proliferation of these in general makes night time play less appealing to legit players. I believe when private servers have the ability to white list players and enforce codes of play as they deem fit and actively ban obvious cheaters it will bring players back to the night time servers. IMO, if you remove the human cheat element, night time becomes a more desirable time to play even if they go back to a more realistic level of darkness. Zombies have a greatly reduced aggro radius due to loss of sight, and bandits do as well. Moving through tree lines renders you invisible for the most part. I expect night time to take a while to catch on, but the smart players will migrate to it for the obvious reasons. Throw in bad weather and the loss of hearing as a stimulus for bandits and zeds and I will be ultra active on crappy nights. But that is all in the crapper at the moment due to exploits and hacks. Night time is basically an additional handicap to the honest gamer. Allow a server admin the chance to review the log for someone to see if they exploited/cheated, get them banned, and suddenly what was a major annoyance becomes taking a bullet for the greater good, because having a cheat banned tastes better than Cherno bacon. -
The best I could do today was 7 which isn't much luck. But I did get motivated to try something else. I have a treadmill in the office with the computer. It faces the back of the 27" monitor, and the monitor is attached to an off market post mount that supports two monitors in over/under arrangement. So, I put the monitor at the top of the post, spin it around, add a desk surface across the arms of the treadmill, move the mouse and keyboard to the desk surface and viola... I ran around with zombies in Dyaz, while walking hard on the treadmill. Some tasks are hard to impossible doing this, but it breathed a little life into the game for me and was healthier than sitting down doing nothing for 90 minutes.

Why nobody want to play in the night time?
Zombie Milkman replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
I play at night, but after the other day I am doubting if I want to keep doing it. I was on a server with 3 others when a group from a notorious clan dropped in as a large group. One of them quickly appears next to me even though I was running, and lights me up. While it is possible he spawned right next to me and opportunity fired (legit), the odds are slightly more in favor of him using esp and the long move exploits, along with high gamma settings to get the drop on me. Add in the poor reputation of their clan as a suspected population of hacks and cheats and my suspicion rises further. I couldn't confirm because with the conditions it was hard to know what was going on, which is a very strong argument for playing daytime only. That way if someone does cheat and you can capture it, you have some form of recourse. However, once BI allows server admins the right to control their shards and ban people, and entire clans of poor sportsmen, along with chopping down on exploits, you can expect night time play to pick up. If you agree with this sentiment, drop me some beans. -
The best option I can think of: Tell someone your server and location and have them log in and kill the toon (or bandage you up, but if they fresh spawn that may not be the best time sensitive option.)

Controversial Development Timeline?
Zombie Milkman replied to TiggyPooh's topic in General Discussion
Much like what Parazight said, I don't see a problem here. But I want to add an important piece to the entire picture: Competition is coming and while 30 to 60 million in development money is impressive on a crowd source game, Sony is Sony and they can throw enough money at this thing to beat BI. There, I said it, and it is reality. So either BI makes a better game than Sony (who can screw it up, that can't be ignored), or they get out-developed by the competition... And it may not matter to BI in the end since they already made a ton of money off the game as is. So who knows. None of us do, and honestly I don't see it as something worth complaining about. I have over 200 hours in on an alpha at this point, and that isn't because I hate it or because BI lied to me, etc. It is because despite the warts and alpha thing and the 10 year olds with beards and sickos and KOS clans I still enjoy the game. If you are here posting a rant because of continued play I strongly suspect you do too. See you out there, and may 180 png save your life! -
Circle, strafe, axe to pumpkin. Unless I have a low pop server, am bored out of my mind, and have tons of ammo for my sidearm I want to throw out the window to make space for food.... Then I might shoot them. But shooting them since the last update comes with problems, because they tend to respawn right where they died, plus it attracts others from up to 1/2 kilo away which I saw happen in a field outside of a town. I went from 1 zombie, to three zombies, to eight zombies in less than 30 seconds.

Can we get additional inventory storage for the prison pocket?
Zombie Milkman replied to Zardoz75's topic in General Discussion
05:00am Overcast with slight wind from the NE Tom bending over a guy he killed in Berry, John standing watch. "So Tom, what's he got?" "Well, an orange, some rice, FNX with silencer, crossbow, canteen, two cans of paint, UN helmet..." "Make sure you check his prison pocket." "What do you mean? That WAS his prison pocket!" -

[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?
Zombie Milkman replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
Way different in my eyes. The movie industry (closest industry to video gaming that I can think of) draws a line in the sand over violence to kids, yet Bio got in trouble for it. IDK, some behavior shouldn't be encouraged on any level. IMO of course. I love feminists. They are dirtier than average in bed. +1. I wonder if Bohemia had this whole torture thing pop up as an unintended sideshow or not, but allowing it to persist seems like a poor legal choice... and possible marketing decision? -

To the dude on experimental drinking in the lone prison just north of NWAF
Zombie Milkman replied to doctorwhy's topic in General Discussion
BTW, regarding this topic, I don't know why anyone has a problem with random gun play. I may not be a manic KOS player, but I do like the suspense. Purely friendly servers are boring (Hi Frank, kill any zombies today? I sure did Tom, lost 5 mags in Balota this morning. Jiminee crickets I am peeved. It took me all morning running around upright with bright orange rain slickers on from base to base while playing the bagpipes to load my ultra rare 5mm minigun ammo. Now I am off to find my human ambulance hat. I plan on sitting on the top of Novo tower and trying to signal the aliens to land. I sure hope they are friendly!" Puke! -

It depends on where that groundwater comes from. If it is a glacial deposit aquifer sure, likely no issue, but if the source of the aquifer is Love Canal then DON'T DRINK THE WATER! lol. However, if you head to your local Outdoors Outfitter you can probably get a .5 micron filter to pump all your water through. To be honest THAT is a better way to purify your water because eating iodine loaded water at varying concentrations is bad for you long term. The other way to do it is to boil the **** out of it and collect it on a cooling surface (condensing tube) which is distillation. -

It all comes down to what he was drinking. If a man is enjoying a cold beer after a long hard run from Novo, then no, it is against the Man Card Rules to kill him while he enjoys a beer. If he was drinking a Pipsi though... well... it just had to be done. Don't even ask me if he was eating a banana. -
[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?
Zombie Milkman replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
Very true about "fun." It is a subjective term. I just don't get the torture thing which is why I asked. I threw the real life story up there (there are an insane number of these which is a sad fact) to try and juxtapose some of the fun talk, or the role play suggestions, and to breath some reality into the discussion. It is easy to discuss say bombing a few thousand people from 5 miles up over a coffee, but an entirely different thing if you do so with an actual survivor in the room, if you know what I mean. I only gave up once myself. but that was in the beginning when I found it interesting to see what would happen. It turned out to be relatively nice demi-bandits who let me go with more gear than I had in the beginning. After reading these forums I know I was lucky though, so just like in real life I would fight till the end now. The one thing that bugs me is the concept of a 15 year old torturing a 10 year old who gets his hand on the game and we both know it happens. 10 Year olds may have a harder time separating out game vs. reality. Mommy & Daddy's fault for sure, but still, it sucks as a situation when it is foreseeable.
