Big thanks to SMoss for the mention! Cam's got some skills but you devs are the ones making it happen! I look forward to 0.6 and all the builds to come! Keep up the great work!

Hey! I just posted this too! You straight up captured the beauty that is interaction in DayZ. A damn fine video sir, you should be proud. Keep em coming
-
I personally go for the immersive experience and really value videos that can capture (even a small glimpse of) what makes DayZ such a great game. Immersion and Interaction This video has it all

Great Vid Rene, Merry Christmas man. Love the choice for home base, where's that church at? I've been there a few times in the past but don't remember where exactly. Now that I've upgraded my pc, I wanna visit it for some screenshots. Hope you're enjoying the holidays!

Was this on stable or Experimental? I ask because the same thing happened to a friend of mine on EXP. I wasn't next to him when he logged so it's possible he got killed, but then again it could be a 0.59 issue as there was a massive drop in performance around that time.

Oak tree location? Black leather sack?

Nails? Why nails? I may not be the most experience individual when it comes to dyes and such, but that just doesn't seem right. -
Tag & Release - Capturing a heavily armed m4 player with a repeater - Hardcore

When they redo the player controls and melee, that knife may be an option. I've killed a few with screwdrivers and sticks. All about the poke/stab weapons, slashing gets you a one way ticket back to the coast. -
Looks like the uploader took down the original vid. Can it be found anywhere else?

1) Awesome! Really looking forward to it. Fingers crossed the new player controller adds to it as well and stealth becomes more flushed out (still remember rolling sideways/vaulting in the mod to move silently). 2) Guess I was wondering if it was going to be tracked individually and/or have any need for interaction? Ruined/trash works for me, good server performance and everybody wins! 3) Ok, might be cool to have some sorta cost to a failed animation (for key items/uses) Ex: Lockpicks (breaks/damages item or makes more noise) or repairing tires (putting it on too loose causing the tire to fall off after a short period of time). 4) Increased player cap, I like that. Makes me think that'll lead to less 1PP servers diluting the (already slim) pop. Thus force players to a populated server rather than spread out amongst several (even if linked to 1 hive). Time will tell. Thanks for putting in the time to reply. Looking forward to 0.59 and beyond! Here's a DayZ/MGSV poster I put together for a wallpaper - full image here: https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/156341-lets-post-some-screen-shots-standalone/page-105 Figured it would help say good job/thanks

Not exactly a screenshot, more like a few (and other stuff too) mashed together. Figured this was the best place for it (correct me if I'm wrong). Shoutout to Tatanko who was a big help with it and whose character gave his life to supply the Rify screenshot. RIP Hope you all enjoy it! -
"volume balance changes, with different shoe/boot types" and the vehicle destruction sounds/looks great! I'm assuming shoe/boot changes will give rise to footwear like the leather moccasins for stealth and combat boots/hiking boots for durability. If that's correct, I'm looking forward to it! Is the vehicle destruction system similar to the ragdoll system we currently have? If so will damaged/broken parts (doors/hoods) be accessible upon falling off? Any of the parts salvageable after falling off? In regards to the animation/item interaction changes: Any sort of negative effects (planned/known) that can occur when letting said key go too soon while interacting with a specific item? What are you/the team looking forward too most with the upcoming 0.59 update? Edit: Oh and one for down the line. Is transitioning from .PBO to .FBX format still planned?

BeefBacon is right many of the new animations will help. I also think another form of tagging could be cool. Like tagging animals (for research purposes n stuff). Could be a cool mechanic with the introduction of tranq guns and a GPS. Knock em out, tag their ear (or something) and set em free. That way you could follow em back to their base or stash.

Editted some 0.58 footage I captured at night and fondly remember NVGs in the mod. Any thoughts on the idea of bringing them back? Pros vs cons? I for one am looking forward to it, but never want TWS. Never...

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?

How about craftable necklaces? -

With 0.58 here most players are out collecting loot/gear. Just be careful while in those high value locations and know that there are some who collect trophies. Happy Hunting -
Been having this since right before .57 made it to stable. Could be due to a Steam update as I can't speak in CS:GO either. TeamSpeak/Skype work just fine, playback in Razer Synapse and Steam Audio Settings are working too. But when I push to talk ingame (caps lock and icon pops up) nothing comes out. I'm unable to communicate for the first time ever and it's borderline game breaking. I've looked up a few posts regarding similar issues and thought the Razer Synapse might be the culprit, but none of the threads/fixes I've found seem to do the trick. Any help/info would be appreciated.

Gotta start somewhere, so communication works. Also you're right, solid documentation is key. You want everyone onboard and confident when it comes to enforcing the bans. Also helps when dealing with appeals.

1PP only here and we're very interested

Anything come of this? Sharing Whitelists, Ban lists and even just having established communication between communities would be a beautiful thing. Very interested in seeing the dream come true and/or being apart of it.

Now I suppose this isn't exactly a (single) ingame screenshot, but the recent talk of modding kinda inspired me to put this together and this seemed like a good place to share it. I was rather focused on messing with character gear. I plan on working on this + others like it in the future. Felt incomplete with just a black backdrop so I tossed a sweet screencap in to help set the scene. I do believe I owe someone here a big thanks for providing the image I chose. Lemme know what you guys think and please forgive me if this is not the place for this sort of thing. Thanks again to the photographer -
I've got convinced to play 1pp more.
HugoStiglitz (DayZ) replied to SniperV (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
All in all, good stuff here. I've always prefered 1pp and found it sad/troubling when the 1pp pop died in the mod/s. I do think players get too used to 3pp and don't give 1pp a fair chance due to how vulnerable they feel without that floating exploit. Fact is you're not going to be engaged by someone who saw you while safely behind cover. Thus camping is less rewarding. It truly is all about risk vs reward and if someone can see you, you can see them too (though they maybe well hidden). The only downfall IMO is it makes ghillie suits slightly less OP (which can be a good thing too). Keep up the good fight folks, long live 1pp! -
Questions, Comments and Concerns regarding Survivor GameZ
HugoStiglitz (DayZ) posted a topic in General Discussion
Been seeing signs that resemble a decline in competitive skill level and/or a lack in overall value/respect for the game, regarding some of the most recent SGZ (5-6) contestants. Big fan of Survivor GameZ for a long time and won't soon forget my first live DayZ super bowl experience. When I watched the live streams and witnessed team Summit & Shadez take home the W, I was forever hooked. It can be rather hectic when live (which is awesome) as I like to jump around from perspective to perspective and I tend to watch past broadcast of contestants after the dust has settled, to help answer any questions/confusion (what brought them there, where they got that, ect.) Now I've always favored the 1pp survival pvp and the gameplay it brought out in the mod (and now SA) and having come from watching Sacriel, Ngotie, Oshi7, Break71 and many more content creators I felt who were drawn to the risk vs reward gameplay same as me. I'm convinced there's just something about tight squads/comms, tense moments brought on by confusion and surprise. Not to mention the overwhelming paranoia due to the vast unknown that can be found in DayZ. These elements make for epic moments (clutch and devastating). Each decision, action or choice maybe their last and ultimately sculpts their players fate. I believe Survivor GameZ to be one of the greatest opportunities to flush out how these (in some cases) celeb gamers play. It grants the viewer a direct link to a skillful (cautious survivor, aggressive killer or whatever) approach and how they do when pitted against others of a similar caliber. A refreshing moment occurred in SGZ V after Sacriel was shot and they were planning their next moves (toward NWAF) while regaining health via pond water. I find the down time or prep between action to be just as important as the action itself, in fact the two contribute to one another. I like seeing skilled play, but I was a little thrown off when thinking about the two players who had passed out due to lack of food/water and laid there in the open field dying. I don't mean anything against those players/content creators personally I just found myself wondering why they were in the GameZ. Though it seemed out of place, I brushed this off and continued to enjoy the GameZ (especially when my top two groups favored to win ran into one another at the NE corner of NWAF!). SGZ 5 was great and I look forward to SGZ 6! But today I saw a video uploaded by one of the SGZ 6 contestants and really want to know what qualities SGZ look for when casting. The level of skill found among the average is beginning to resemble that found in high school varsity ball rather than a college or professional standard brought forth by events prior. I'm not trying to call anyone out or be negative, just voice a concern (one in a sea of many atm). I hope SGZ stays hardcore and keeps the level of competition high. DayZ brings many different types of players together and some pursuits are more popular than others. The main questions I find myself thinking about: Is survivor games meant to be more fun or competitive? When comparing/selecting contestants are views valued over skill/experience? -
Any info on the 24 hour cycle bug?
HugoStiglitz (DayZ) replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Is there a thread or tutorial to help with tweaking and setting up acceleration? I really enjoy the idea of allowing server owners to play with their server settings and look forward to more options. Just feel we need in depth info regarding using/managing these settings. -
I recall Chris Torchia sharing some reference images/material stating/implying a tranq gun would be added
-
Take em off and put em back on only when you need them. Masking your presence or creating confusion when dealing with other players it a huge advantage. Also the higher caliber the less shots (1-3) you'll get outta that bottle. Not to mention you coulda filled it with much needed water. Anyway, Heli crash sites seemed to be frozen (super broken) atm and I don't imagine you'll be seeing too many new (0.55) high end NATO spawns (at least not from choppers). My recommendation, do what ya gotta do to survive and build a long term foundation for when they hotfix these loot issues and/or dish out 0.56. Love the M4 (MP all the way), but I'm looking forward to the UMP45! Stay tuned
