No, no no no no, and no again... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL00F953EE8C41F8BD For a LOT of reasons i play everytime i can in empty server, and in fact if DayZ can also have a singleplayer mode with ONLY player and zed (and wild life of course) it will be great. But a HATE to play with more than 3 other peoples, and i'm already trolled enough by stupid server player number that show 1 or 2 and while in the server their is over 10... Why ? Simply cause : 1 - For RP, in surviving situation like this we will probably be FEW survivors, the rare immunized one...This is immersion braking to see a people every 2 minutes. 2 - Cause loot is already rare enough and pretty much boring to find out every house already open and everything consumed, mainly in a game that only 2 hours split you from stuffed to starving to death, or where medicaments are already rare enough in a game where only "few minutes" is enough to kill you just cause you have eaten a rotten banana...How many kids have fun to heat rotten things for challenge ? even if they become sick, they will not die in 2 minutes, the time we try to find something we are already dead... 3 - Because too many bandits, you never know if you will find a stupid 10Yo one that will kill on sight for nothing or a real dude that is friendly, i want to survive long as possible, i don't see the point to get killed every 2 hours cause of the concentration of people... And NO i don't play on almost empty server for just having gear, just cause i WANT to play alone and sadly game devs are in a stupid period where they all copy each others and their is no "realistic" surviving game with SINGLEPLAYER (and no, The forest is NOT realistic). If you want a Battlefield/COD like server game, go play such games, i don't see ANY good reason for doing this, hosting server that will not "start" will NOT in ANY way give you a better bandwidth/stability or anything else, cause this is professional server and they probably host more than DayZ...And its is the ONLY good reason for this. And by the way, the only reason for game to have a minimum number of player, its game like Battlefield where STATS REALLY COUNTS and ARE show up, in DayZ their is NO stats like K/D ratio or things like this that you can "farm". And you know what ? your idea will in fact create MORE server jumper, simply cause minimum number of player = less loot on map, and those who want to "gear up" like you say will find nothing, and finally swap server a lot, result ? The poor number of loot left will be scavenged, server jumper will wait for a server to restart or respawn loot and scavenge it and jump in another, in fact it will be a advanced method of server jumping, or others will more actively looking for cheats which will attract more skilled hacker/cracker that will create some "trainers" and others cheats things. Anyway if someone want to gear up, why the hell prevent him to do it ? If you think that a guy full of loot is stronger or can kill more easily than a guy with a single Mosin, you don't know DayZ or Arma... Look here : for example on the mods. And if you search enough you will find video of unarmed people that beat one or sometime even two guy that have guns. I like the idea, lets just hope that infected will not be able to brake the door in 5 seconds or others unrealistic (and highly boring) time and by the way they should NOT be able to recognise a door from a wall, they should only will attack it if they see us passing through. But zombies Pathfinding should NOT include automating finding and use of stairs or doors (brake or open them), and in this case yes door can be fragile ! Anyway nice idea dude ! Just don't forget door sound !!!

Or not, i don't see why we can't put the bow/crossbow below the backpack My topic here, point [8] http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/202269-my-huge-suggestion-list-long-topic/ Bow/Crossbow are MORE a tactical and hunting stuff than a weapon, it should NEVER in ANY way replace existing weapon or melee weapons. We NEED them, long range (more than direct hit) stuff such as gun/riffle and short range one for when zombies agros such as melee. Bow and Crossbow are actually bad enough, bad precision, low range, poor damage, need a bench of time to be reload and the arrow are already way enough place consuming in this game where place become a pain, if nothing is done the game will be unplayable cause of pen taking the same volume as a canned food, while we can group 40 .45 bullets we can't group more than 6 arrow, they are ridiculously too extremely rare and not craftable, i don't think a lot of people have already get killed by a bow in this game, even with the crossbow. And even if it is fixed, it will still be pretty useless, never bring it in a gunfight, and when zombies are around you and close enough, it still useless. And by the way we can already have melee + riffle + at least 3 (if we want even 4 or 5) different pistols + their bullets in our inventory, it will take place but we can do it, it will NOT in ANY WAY, NEVER make anyone stronger. Even if someone trying to have a protector case inception everywhere and get 10 pistols in his inventory, he will NOT be stronger. So NO for replacing any of the primary or melee weapon with a bow, it will be UNPLAYABLE, mainly with the bad too much procedure and not human at all "maneuverability" and agility of the character. Can't disagree since i have already suggest the same : http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/202269-my-huge-suggestion-list-long-topic/ Look at part [9] I have also talk about energy suggestion and NO this is not Stamina, this is based on food, actually we get too fast to starvation state. In fact the best gameplay mechanic will be this : Allow player to carry WAY MORE items (more the time pass, more items are added, useless one become useful/must have, and inventory slot don't grow, and some object take too much place for what they are). Which mean player with virtually an advantage (in fact their is not) some people can survive with a single handgun with ammo box or SKS and ammo + a can opener and bandages, nothing else. Other will want to be a huge mule, and we should not restrict them from this, after all IRL we can carry more in a backpack. But two penalty should be here : Rater than look at the inventory occupation, we should look at the weight of the object that the guy carry, a backpack "full" of 35 (max number of slot on the biggest backpack) can opener or a simple pen (my favorite object for example) will be way less heavy than a backpack with 35 can of food, and also 35 can should not fill a backpack... That why i talk about more place or better system for inventory, mainly with small object and more grouping system. But two disadvantages, based on weight, slower constant running speed (walking speed should absolutely not be changed) and same for sprint. Actually in the game i think (its what i feel) more we run, more we breath heavily and slower we run, but its not a stamina based, its better, when we are exhausted we run slower but don't stop to run, and at least we can do it for long distances, not for 100m, but sprint should be less forgiving... And in fact we also should consume energy, cause in the game the food weight and calories are apparently taking in account, and more we carry, more we should spend energy and get to starvation state. But not a ridiculously too much consummation ratio ! And in the other hand, allow player to carry more.

This is not cause you don't like those kind of weapon that they should not exist. You know i can say the same with gun : We don't need more gun than we actually have, we don't need more riffle we already have pistol and they both fire bullets, or we don't need others pistols since we already have several riffle and others weapons...We don't need more town or bigger map since we already have several one... Yes you will probably find arguments for defending your idea, but i can easily do the same for bow. Bow are PART of the wilderness survival, crossbow are WAY LESS and even if it is a little more powerful, real crossbow are way less convenient than bow. Bow, and mainly modern compound bow are PART of hunting, and in fact before powder weapon it was for CENTURIES the best way to hunt, so several bow such as two longbow, recurved bow and compound bow WON'T kill anyone, mainly since longbow and recurved bow, even modern fiber one are NOT a hard think to create for 3D artists and a lot of things about archery are already done and will also be done for the actual one, even a second crossbow model will not be a luxury... Having different kind of bow in this stage of the development CAN'T kill anyone, mainly non craftable one... And mainly compound bow, cause they have complex (short) ballistic and the sight have to be correctly done/Setup for this : http://www.huntersfriend.com/images/sight_selection_guide/pse-f22-big.jpg So no the craftable bow that we actually have is a piece of s... ridiculously underpowered, way too short distance, too slow, way not enough arrow we can group and the worst precision i have ever see in the history of bow. Also in real life, YOU WILL WANT to take something such as a modern bow, composite or anything else, or even a compound bow (that don't need to be "disband" and can be ready at any times) and not count on your craftable one... Crafted arrow are already weak (low penetration, too heavy stone head or too light wood head which have low penetration which mean short range or easy for the wind to affect trajectory) and unpredictable enough (cause a single mistake hard to see with your eyes on its form or the angle of the tail/head will make them flight everywhere except where you aim or broke while hitting the target)... So yes more complex bow are needed and soon as possible, MAINLY those who will require a lot of settings, they can be done over long time to not interfering the game development process, but still get settings based on player report to be ready when the final version of the game will be out, and not having a really bad bow system not even finish when the game is supposed to be. In fact the game need hunting store which can have civil weapon (such as shotgun) surviving gear should also be part of the game and in fact they should be better than military, and when tent and surviving gear (such as combined items) will be in the game, hunting store will be the perfect place for finding civil weapons, SMALL pistol (not the .45, only 9mm and .22) and stuff such as Bow, compound bow, hunting stuff and more... I live in a 5000 people town and we here have hunting store, i don't know if their is bow, but their is town of fishing and hunting stuff, even decoration blade, real sword, taser, ammo and others stuff like this, even Shuriken. And i use to life in a 2500 people town (10Km away from where i am) and i know at least someone that have a compound bow, a training one yes but still one, i also know someone why have craft a wood crossbow, and their is a bow association here...So i'm sure that their is more than a single people in 10Km around that have a compound bow (and a target practicing one can also be used for hunt even if its not the best) Anyway compound bow should shoot slower (time between two arrow) than regular one. NOT that it should become ridiculously slow, just that in fact we can shoot really fast with a conventional bow, and unlike the ridiculously slow bow draw we always have in video games, a regular way to shoot can be that fast if we are good : But in fact real fast bow shooting speed is like this : We already have a ridiculously too small arrow capacity, and bow are underpowered/imprecise and have ridiculously small range compare to real one... Based on the mechanical system of the compound bow, it is slower to shoot : But it have HELL MORE precision and range than all the damn game always limit it at : So even if they are bring to the equivalent to the REAL ONE, damn it people stop complaining, a lot of people what it and you still have advantage with your damn gun, the ONLY advantage that bow have is the silence (and its not 100% quiet). In fact if we think about, ammo are NOT unlimited and in case of apocalypse they will be really quickly consumed cause no one will produce them, unlike arrow that can be crafted... Why ? Cause RIDICULOUSLY SMALL items take a single slot in DayZ while others 10 time bigger also take one (and should not take more) It mean place become ridiculously impossible to get, mainly with all the more new objects, actually just bandage and blood stuff is enough, but don't forget that soon we will get more decease, even from water, cold weather will affect us, same as rain, maybe possibility to contract a decease just by getting in a place where their is a lot of players, so yes based on the fact that more object are coming, fact that too small object already take too much place for theirs size and that object that are actually present but that we don't mind about cause they have no functions yet will soon start to be NEEDED (not just a plus, but really needed, mainly with the too fast starvation and decease system we will not have the time to look for those object on the map). Also google "First Aid Kit" on google image and you will see that they ALL have 10 time more objects inside than the one in DayZ... So the best thing will be to have a 4 external slow of the bag and 8 internal slot AND another bigger model which have 6 external slow and 10/12 internal slot ! This is simple, PVP safe zone should NOT be AT ALL put in the game. DayZ will (at least i hope) never feature some kind of safe zone, their is nothing to debate about player safe zone, it is clearly not the type of DayZ to have features like this. BUT ! Zombies free safe zone are still a good idea, not one where they don't get here, but just a simple solution for prevent them to spawn again and again near to you. I have already encounter a bug where i have kill 10 time the same zombies cause i shoot at him...He respawn next to me, shoot again, respawn again etc etc and i was expecting to do idk what in the area (loot an object i think) so their was no way for me to do it cause of the endless zombies respawn, they should simply not respawn near players. My idea permit a zombies respawn system and fix every issues that any kind of safe zone create without private the ability to cleaning a town/city AND it add new things which is a sort of (realistic) zombies waves that act like zombies on surrounding town that get attracted by gunfire, it also add traveler zombies and walking horde, anyway its all explain : http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/200642-safe-zones/?p=2044046 So YES for zombies safe (only with a type of idea like mine) but NO for player safe area.

+1000 And also some guns should be reload without (mag) through R button, magnum, SKS for example should do it, but ONLY if we have bullets accessible in our pockets (not in our backpack or in a ammo box) Speed loader for weapons like this (SKS, Magnum, Blaze 95 and IZH) should ONLY make us gain time for reloading, but they are supposed to be most of the time reloaded manually, and its really bad to have to open the slow, non convenient and slow to use inventory for do such kind of things. Same for the Mosin even if he don't have speed loader, all this weapons should be able to be reloaded from R key, but need to open inventory for chamber them. And a lot of weapons such as most of the pistol or assault riffle for example need the ability to be both chamber AND put a mag on them, cause is how they work IRL ! -
What if we want the beautiful aspect of the compound bow ? Like the Bowtech Assassin <3 http://www.outdoortexan.com/images/2004-11-21/BowTech1.jpg They are way more powerful and long range than "stick and shoelace" A "sleek fiberglass recurve bow" is also nice of course i agree but it won't be hard to 3D artist and devs to do it and put it into the game cause it will not need more animations than the actual craftable one and the 3D model are pretty simple, only damage/range/ballistic tweaking are needed, nothing else. But damn i want a beautiful compound bow with his magnificent look and his famous sight http://www.huntersfriend.com/sight_selection_guide/sight_selection_guide.html Two model of compound bow will be a nice to have feature. Like the game TheHunter (hunting simulator) which have two compound bow, a crossbow and two more sleek bow.

+1000 In fact that what i expect from DayZ, be able to survive in the wild just by hunting, crafting arrow and having a NICE bow. Compound bow and others modern bow, longbow are more than welcome !!! In fact i don't expect to play DayZ for long if a compound bow are not added... Why everytime that someone in a forum post a GOOD IDEA, or even a GREAT idea that will just NOT AT ALL interfering with your way to play, that a lot of people want and which is nice to have. Someone just ruin it in the FIRST ANSWER ? Seriously why say no to this ? A crossbow ? really ? Basically you say that, not centuries but MILLENNIUM of of bow hunting/war and fight are just a tacticool thing ? Seriously ? So just cause you don't like bow, no one should have one ? Go learn the difference between bow and crossbow, NOTHING is tacticool. +1000 BUT no poison arrow for what you hunt unless you want to kill yourself eating this, sleeping stuff will be better but it will be abuse on player... But no for explosive arrow, or compound bow which are nice but still a niche thing will become the most cheated/Wanted thing... He probably referring to the predator bow you have on Crysis and other unrealistic compound bow that become too mainstream today and we start to see in every game but still be unrealistic.

Yes it will be nice, cause when we will have more realism and that water from pond can't make us sick, we will need to use this : http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Water_Purification_Tablets But every way that is both realistic and can permit to those who want to "live (survive)" long as possible in the wild without need to go to cities for take any object, such as your idea to boil water is a good idea ! Anyway cooked food will be better than non cooked one in this game later on the time, so for things like dry food, i mainly think about rice, or powdered milk, both while adding water to them to obtain standard rice and standard milk, milk that will maybe be able to be combined with third dry food the box of cereal. Maybe more dry food will be added such as pasta and it will be able to be combined with water and give a better food with high calories value which is important in DayZ, same as a "safe" food ! So i hope we will have more way to collect water, we will be able to find food on really small town that have less than 10 house and having things such as rice and others dry food and stuff that we can cook. Both using fireplace or gas stove (hope that they won't make again a too much fast use system, such as too 3 minutes lifetime gas canister) But yeah definitely agree for boiling water for drink it safely, you put in inside your frying pan (even if it not the best) or your cooking pot or maybe a possible future improvised recipe, add water from wherever we want (bottle, canteen or something maybe added on the future to collect rain's water), boil it, lets it cool down and fill canteen or waterbottle with this cleaned water !

I have described something that can fix both issue of server jumpers and the fact that you get killed cause someone spawn next to you. My system don't make anyone having trouble like prevent spawn or move someone etc. When your spawn, your actions are only visible for yourself, if you take object and suddenly disconnect after less than 20 minutes for example, the objects you have take/use on the server stay taken/moved for you, but not for others players, and you start as a "ghost" it mean even if you are next to a player, you don't see him and he don't see you except if he is in your friend list (will apparently be in the game) or if you type his name and a command on the tchat, and after a certain amount of time, when their is no one near to you and of the object you have use/take/move you and your actions become part of the real world. It solves every issues at once, you can still join a friend, you can't be killed cause someone spawn near to you or cause you spawn near to someone, server won't be empty cause of people that connect, take everything on the NE airbase (for example) and just go to another server, if they don't meet anyone their is no reason for object to disappear cause of them. And the same system can be apply to the zombies, for example you simply spawn, you see no zombies, and, in a shorter time, and once you are far enough from zombies, the zombies start reveal to you, if you have no interaction with any other player (and far from them) and you kill a zombies and then disconnect after a short time (before you get really integrated into the world) the zombies you kill respawn even if the server state no zombies respawn. Cause in real we don't have people that come from another dimension and do stuff like make object even more rare than they actually already are or make it more easy by cleaning zombies.

If you are in the middle of nowhere, or a roof, in a simple meadow, you will have more chance to survive by try to kill him rather than run away, same example if you cross the runway of an airbase, imagine a sniper camped on the a building like one watchtower or in the high spot where their is light (projectors) on it which is really high, you won't have the time to run away cause if he is smart he will wait for you to be in the middle of the runway and both finish to cross or turn back will be too long for you to survive, and this is a HIGHLY POSSIBLE situation, in fact i think it happen a lot. And why can't we just take some stuff from the one we have killed, it work like this in EVERY GAMES and in real life... And who care if someone can find "easy stuff" cause anyway we don't survive for long in DayZ so he will probably loose everything soon or later and have to do i back without having the chance to find anymore new stuff and actually most of the stuff are ruined for nothing when you kill someone... Don't take it badly, but in fact their is actually TONS of various surviving game, a LOT of people love realism, maybe not real time healing, but you have to admit that, mainly with this HUGE world, it is boring to have 30 minutes from stuffed at almost vomit to starvation, or be sick to death just after eaten a rotten thing in some minutes (how many kids love to play eaten rotten stuff and don't even have any issue except a bad taste in the mouth ?) So yes probably not a game where we need ridiculously high amount of time for heal, but WAY MORE realism for a lot of things, to avoid things like axe who come from pristine to ruined after cutting 4/5 tree and others bad idea will probably be better away. And in fact a lot of the actual survival game don't take that much realistic aspect on the player, so if you want one, you can have one, but c'mon DayZ is probably the only one that can have a chance to get high level of realism/fidelity/authenticity. And in fact i'll be happy if we could scavenge items, even if it will probably be abused by people who will scavenge everything on airbase (probably need to limit it on dead body only for avoid this kind of abuse), but yeah DayZ have potential to become more realistic while other game will probably fit what you are looking for, such as H1Z1 or Survive the Night... It is like if, people insisted in the development of DCS World which are popular CAUSE this is an ultra authentic simulation (the only one that this level) and rather than everyone who love airplane are happy to FINALLY have a modern realistic sim, they put arcade features cause too many people ask for even if their is already tons of arcade games available everywhere. Maybe not a life simulator, but a HIGHLY REALISTIC game yes, i hope and a lot of people also hope...

ANNNNND ! You are really bad for judging peoples... I LOVE to play slow and in fact that why i play DayZ rather than others game, i like to find object over the time, exploring its for me something i really like. What i'll like the most its when we will be able to survive 100% by exploring and hunting in the wild away from city (and i hope i'll not anymore be starved to death 30 minutes after our last full dinner that stuffed us), just surviving in the wild, spend long time to walk, if it is implemented track my next dinner, deal against deceases, repair my broken/used stuff, when i need things that get consumed such as matches or anything like this just back to a city and maybe find more equipment for my +25h surviving time character (which is really long in DayZ)... I'll in fact prefer have a NICE compound bow which have a DECENT shooting range, craftable arrow from wooden stick + knife (without damage, cause its ridiculous to damage a knife with a simple wooden stick) and a DECENT number of arrow that can be stored (group by 30 for example, not only 6 in the same spot which is ridiculously not enough) rather than having an AKM or a M4 or SKS, and YES i have liked compound bow WAY BEFORE it become mainstream. But what i don't like its empty server, server should have everything you need and you should NOT have to switch server to find something just cause based on rare spawn their is poor chances for some object to be on the server, MAINLY with no server respawn and nothing to handle server switcher except a 99 second wait which is probably not something switcher care about and everyone else are bored about this, so yes when server will have object respawn AND protection against server switcher, it will be a good idea and i'll in fact be happy to see less stuff, and having to explore more for find them but NOT stuff impossible to find simply cause their are not in the server, i prefer REALLY HARD to find guns, such as extremely well hidden, or randomly on some civil house on the best hide place, kind of house we actually don't even care about, which will require intense exploration to find a single gun, but NOT a server where their is no more gun cause they are always in the same military easy to find spot and that everyone rush them and they are always completely scavenged even in the most unpopular place. So yes i refer to real world, and even if i'm someone who like to spend hours on game for find almost nothing (i like to play TheHunter which is a hunting simulation where you need hours to really find and kill some preys for example) like you say its a game, and that why it should have MORE STUFF, not cause real world have 10000 time more stuff (and i'm really nice to say this cause actually in a single house irl you find more stuff than on the entire map of DayZ), first for reduce the fact that you NEED to switch server to find stuff AND simply cause even if it DON'T boring me, it boring a lot of people to need hours and hours for find a single stupid little object, think mainly about those who work hard and only have 30 minutes to play or 2h per week. And if we threat it as a game, we should have WAY MORE loot, mainly military. And don't forget that DayZ come from Arma 2 and that its wanted for his authenticity. If you want "long time for do something" but that you DON'T want realism, don't try to make DayZ become unrealistic, and go play Minecraft, you spend time to do stuff and its not realistic, it will please you. Actually i have on hardcore server nice equipment, i have even find the AKM, but only after 3 day of search in 4 or 5 server and maybe more than 10h. So yes it is too rare, anyway better gun don't make bad shooter people hit better, some people will be 100 time more mortal with crossbow than another with AKM/M4. And i find it stupid to always know where object are (for military they always are in airbase/military base, irl it will be scavenged first and you will almost only find weapon inside house of scavengers that get killed/turn into Zed or civil who just have military stuff) and just disconnect a server and even if you know that you have yesterday explore the military base, explore it again cause you know that you will maybe find new stuff on it and explore again and again the SAME place rather than have to explore all the houses on all the cities. And NO i'm not the kind of 15 Yo kid that will kill you just cause its fun "OMG LOL LMAO you are dead" but more the one you will never see cause i play on on almost empty server (not for loot, just to get alone, quiet and have my OWN story not perturbed by the 15 Yo COD like noob or bandit that kill for nothing) and once i get good enough equipment you will probably never see me unless you are in the middle of the wood.

If they increase loot and bring object respawn soon as possible, server jumper people will be reduced... Most of the time, when you enter a server, you look EVERYWHERE and you find NO OBJECTS AT ALL, its almost normal to change server, cause its boring, in real life we will find WAY MORE objects, human survivors will NOT be in a so huge concentration per square KM and we are not limited to a single map that is, huge for a video game, but ridiculously small for real life... If they can first start by fixing the fact that server list show almost always wrong number of player (i like to play alone, away from others players, empty server can in fact be nice for me and i only DayZ could have a singleplayer mode, all the stupid private/clan server will disappear, we will find more real servers and less people will have trouble to find stuff cause of this (cause less server will be wasted for clan/solo guy). And the ridiculously poor number of loot is really extremely bad... I have almost make a topic for ask more loot, actually it is ridiculous. Seriously military gear are ridiculously hard to find, but stuff like some accessory are also. For example, if their is a zombie apocalypse and i get infected before be able to plan a surviving strategy... In fact if you replace both my SR-25 and M9 from airsoft to real one (just stock variant) i'm 2 time more equipped in real life than the most you can be in DayZ... Even if we forget the leak of various missing equipment, it still have ridiculously low amount of stuff that we can find in the game cause their is not enough loot spawn. So the main reason of server jumper is this, MAINLY now that we don't have object respawn yet, server are always empty for object, and the fact that the recent patch reduce WAY TOO MUCH the loots of things like military don't help it. The loot repartition are bad, it is logic that we should find stuff for craft our own backpack like the improvised courier bag, but i ALWAYS find a real backpack before i can find that god damn rope, this have no logic, in real world their is WAY MORE rope than backpack. So be stuck in a SINGLE server, no thanks, cause yes like Rigor Mortis say, if the server is deleted or down, we can't play, AND sometime we will be stuck cause for example i like empty servers, i hate when their is too much players, i love SURVIVING ALONE, and don't be border by others, even if most of the times server are empty of people cause they are empty of loot, what if i join a server which have low number of player, i can't change server and suddenly BAM explosion of player inside, or reverse case of the one who like to play in almost full server, BAM everyone leave cause their is no more loot for example and they go play inside another server even if they need to create a new character. Mainly now with ridiculously poor number of loot available and almost nonexistent military loot, with no object respawn get stuck in a single server will be one of the worst thing ever... My idea simply lets those damn server jumper do their stuff WITHOUT making it having an impact on player that REALLY player inside the server and it also prevent those damn server jumper to spawn near to you without warn and kill you can they are most of the time also bandit in plus of scavengers... My idea lets them do their stupid switch, prevent them to kill anyone and don't make them empty servers from loots, and prevent them to join endlessly the same server cause they have find a rare and nice loot on it that they want to take several of it. My solution are in fact the best we can have against server switcher, cause whatever we do they won't stop and put protection such as only single server per character or things like this will ONLY annoy people that have never switch server and the game will be ruined cause of an useless countermeasure that cause more issue than it solve, my idea is simple and can work perfectly well.

Once a parasite have taking control of your brain, their is no different stages that make you changing from outside observer, or maybe some visual degradation like decomposition or things like this, but basically parasite make almost everyone act the same. And NO, parasite/virus DON'T have any social or relationship aspect, interest or thing like this. ALPHA well HELL NO, but making military zombies stronger and harder to kill, HELL YES cause after all they was TRAINED people and even if brain knowledge are lost, the muscle strength and development stay here, so they are stronger, and cause of their military gear they also are harder to kill cause more protected, thing like endurance don't affect the body cause its more a psychological barrier rather than a physical one, but strength and bulletproof vest are real aspect. Zombies will probably recognize themselves cause virus/parasite want to grow and infect as many host he can, and already infected will be useless for them + them won't kill each others cause it will reduce their population and they only want to grow, and if they know that we are immune (cause in the game we are, that why we are survivors) well they will try to eat us, and if they don't know, they will try to feat on part of us that are useless for the virus AND contaminate us, but i think we are just walking food for them. So yes for having some stronger than others like military or body builder, but CERTAINLY NOT alpha or things like this. And they don't need alpha for be in group, they have basic instinct (only) and group is part of the surviving stuff, but leader are NOT a necessity, its just human that are not smart enough to not need leaders anymore, but virus/parasite can easily scale their cooperation aspect to their host, leadership is BEFORE EVERYTHING based on social aspect, want to be a leader for having safety and advantage for example, virus and parasites are not familiar with this, and they don't need this cause they have no conscience. But yes they can be in horde, like a virus, which is not a single entity that infect you but a group, domination are not a concept they care about. @Ninja_Meh I'm really happy that we CAN'T access my backpack, mainly if their is nothing that told me that someone is doing that, try to take stuff inside pockets or backpack of someone without warn him about it, and yes their is pickpocket i know but can YOU actually do that ? So yes for trade by giving item to player IN HAND only, and ONLY if he accept, cause it will be so easy to give him a grenade otherwise or stupid stuff that will make him having delay before taking his weapon or simply give him something that can't be use in combat just for having him rather than realistically drop it down in less than half a second make him need 5 second for open inventory, click for drop the thing and close the menu and finally get in a combat position, in real life you FEEL when someone put something in your hand, you don't need to open a menu to see it. But NO for arcade trade based on exchange, just give item to hand.

Trading, well just give an object to someone yes but actual game already permit that and its enough, no unrealistic trading system are needed... And about base building, well i'm not sure, cause their will be housing in this game and it will be AWESOME, real base, probably not, but having the possibility to make barricade around house, or even big building such as supermarket or hospital can be a nice things actually ! But crafting a 100% handmade wood base or things like this yes i agree it should not be possible, but make super fortified building (from already existents) should be possible ! Thanks ! And yes this can be a nice idea but i'll prefer to have visual one, you know like simple footstep on some video game when we walk on the snow/sand, maybe a scroll option to show them (for reducing server load, show them only when its needed) we look for a track, if we are close of one and that we use the action menu, it should show the animal footprint based on their waypoint they have take before, which is realistic, far from arcade where we see magically footprint of an animal that have not walk on it, and on my experience, indicated way is BAD... Like the game TheHunter which is really nice, a hunting simulation, but i really hate the tracking system where you see animal footprint and then they simply disappear and you have to find where they magically appear again like if the animal jump 100m or that a dear can fly... It should be visually based and not arcade interfaced based, and a text should told us if the animal track are recent or not ! Look at this for example :

Yeah but no in fact They are the SAME zombies, just walking in a different way, their is no difference such as one that hear you but can't see you...Or any different like we see in Left 4 Dead for example where their is Hunter, Tank, Witch, Smokers and others which are nice for arcade game but are REALLY BAD for DayZ... Zombies with diversity, such as cloth, face, sex, even the way they walk/run or the sound they make, yes, but they will probably not (i hope) want kind of arcades one like the one stated by Parnard such as the Leackers, c'mon this is ridiculously too much arcade and left for dead, is should clearly stay away from DayZ which want to be a Hardcore survival game, realistic one !

About different types of zombies, it will be too much arcade and "left for dead" having some variation on their act why not, but basically real zombies should probably have the same kind of comportment, actually some parasites such as worm and others can influence the comportment of others species in a extreme way, make them suicide, act in a counter natural way or anything else, in fact their is a parasite that only reproduce on cats, it is highly contagious, a huge part of the human population are infected by this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasmosis So yes zombies parasite is maybe closer than we thing, but with my example, the parasite that make us all so obsess with cat and which is over half of our global population always do the same thing on people. But yes, this is ridiculous to see some object become damaged or even ruined for nothing, the damage system is ridiculously too unrealistic and need a serious rework, like axe that get from pristine to ruined after chopped 3/4 tree, real one can easily cut 500 without even need to be sharped up again... But while a SINGLE BULLET in the HEAD just ruin everything on a player, including shoes, c'mon seriously this is ridiculous, see how much object are ruined for nothing. Game that handle damage on objects ALSO include possibility to repair them, or their are not rare and unpredictable to find... Mainly with most of the gear that we can't repair, we can't fix tactical vest, i mean...c'mon i have a tactical vest and i perfectly know that I CAN repair it if it become "ruined" same for a lot of others cloth...

Also ability to track wild animals and stuff like this, i want to survive in the wild, away from others players, alone and without need to always go to cities for find idk what items, after all human have survive thousand of years in the wild without need any cities ! Just hunt, fight for survive against wild animals, zombies, starvation, deceases and bad luck (we already have to survives game's bug and others server crash or hazardous character delete). Rather than just need to always find can and open doors and deal with others players...

In fact the whole sound system need to be redone. I have a nice headset (Astro A50 + Asus Phoebus and in the past i was playing with a Logitech G930) and i CAN'T hear player footstep sound, a lot of time i was killed cause people can just run at me without making any noise, same for zombies, sometimes we hear random should of heating/open pepsi and stuff like this even if their is absolutely NO ONE near, it look like sound can be hear from other places. And this ambient sound they make NO SENSE, how can a fence make noise with no one/nothing touch it, ok for some RARE noise caused by the wind but that's ALL, with liveless people, object are moved only on rare occasions, wind should already have make fall object that can fall with it, not only when we are here... I think that the random ambient should should be driven by presence, animals/zombies/players, if their is animals we can hear some small sound, the sound they make...Except for Fox ! :rolleyes: but also they can do other sound, such as try to eat into a trash or things like this, but wild animals in general are quiet... But zombies will probably make way more noise like knock over a trash, walk and hit a fence, empty can on the ground, make something fall or anything else. And player should drive to others sound, also things like door should make noise, footstep should be hear, both the fact that they walk and make noise on the ground AND the fact that the equipment should make noise while walking, more heavily loaded with equipment they are and more they should make noise, except if walking, and really huge noise while sprint/fast running. And maybe random sound related to near player, hard to hear but if we do that can help us to know that we are not alone here, it can be noise of something falling inside an house (like if the guy have look for something and do a mess or something that he have no correctly close/Drop just fall or a door that smash cause of the wind...) braking windows and more... Away from town we should not ear sound such as fence or things like this, more sound like wild animals, broken tree branch or stuff like this... Look at the game TheHunter which is a hunting simulator, wild sound are nicely done in it, same for the mods for Skyrim : Sound of Skyrim - the wild
