I think at a certain point, yes, Attack Choppers and Tanks can "turn the game into a mess", but with a game like DayZ, in a real life Zombie Apocolypse, there will be tanks and choppers. Also, giving the players more choice in this game can make this game 'that' much better. Obviously it will be difficult as hell to find the parts, the gas and the actual tank itself, so in a way, it won't be filled with tanks at every corner and a chopper in every inch of the sky.

Hey man, Had the same problem. Just to make sure, your still able to access Steam by pressing Shift+Tab right? If so, close the game and join a different server. I played with my friends and when they picked a server, I spawned in unable to move. One way to detect it before waiting the 60 seconds is by pressing Esc during the countdown. if you can and you go into that menu thing, you'll be able to move, if not close the game and try another server. If you cannot access Steam (through shift+tabbing) I am not 100% sure what is going on. Remember this game is still in Alpha and has some problems with it. PS: Don,t bother restarting your computer, it does nothing to solve the problem Tell me how it goes!

You have run out of the map! The best way is to just kill yourself. If you have nothing to do it with starve/dehydrate yourself. Might take awhile but it will save you time in the future trying to find your way back. But first make sure you are actually outside the map, simply by checking if there are roads. If not, and you have good loot, I would personally kill myself, but you can go with Aimbot.eXe and follow the sun. Good luck!
