IS THIS A NEW THING!? I am running out of pants...
ChainReactor replied to harley001's topic in General Discussion
Victoria's Secret shows are this week. Gaming' nerds are just excited to see some undies. -
Is the issue with servers full of loot fixed?
ChainReactor replied to sai (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It isn't and it wont be soon. The system for loot distribution is not ready yet. The devs will keep on reseting the persistance every wednesday during maintenance to force-redistribute the loot, so keep that in mind when you pitch a tent. -
Dayz Experimental - Executable Missing 0.51
ChainReactor replied to Bradock_IV's topic in Troubleshooting
There is no experimental version right now. Both branches are on the same version. But as exp uses the dayz_experimental.exe and stable uses dayz_BE.exe, an experimental client will not launch because the dayz_BE.exe is missing. Has been answered by kilchiron 2 posts above, though. -
You are aware that we play 0.51 now?

Clearing up the "No message received for x seconds" message
ChainReactor replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
"No message recieved for X seconds" simply means you lost connection to the server for the given ammount of time. It can be caused by a server restart, a server crash or your dog chewing on your network cable. It really only means "You lost connection to the server for no given reason". -
Good luck on your journeys through Chernarus !
-
Theres not much to test about anymore, really. Exp showed that the crafting worked and the clipping with other clothing items works fine, same for the actual camouflaging. Way better than having stable ( which is on the same patch for about a month! ) crowded with shooting bushes waiting for vehicles.

Reciepe has changed. You now need to cut the burlap sack with a knife to craft burlap stripes. For the ghillie hood you'll need 2 Strips and one netting. Not sure about the other parts tho. -
Smart move. But sounds like quite a handy tool. Best of luck for your project!

[email protected] May i ask what your program does ?
-
Actually it's simply unfinished ( Alpha reminder here! ). Loot is indeed respawning, the loot piles are the proof. Now we need to wait until they implement loot distribution and things will look smoother again.
-
That's something you should ask Valve and BattlEye. Noone here - including mods and devs - are aware of what the anticheat systems actually monitor and what is a banable offense for them.

A purple bandana is not optional, it's a must have. Also @Irish welcome to Berezhki, lovely little village. Spent most of the 0.5 patch there :) -
Time to call Dr. Aggathor ! WOBO, we need your help !

A hotbar without a banana ain't hot at all.

A K/D ratio would be pretty pointless in a game where the first death is also the last for the character....

Global Wipe with 0.51 to Stable?
ChainReactor replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The last global wipe was announced weeks before the update. No announcement was made for 0.51 and the push to stable is aimed for next wednesday, so i highly doubt there will be a wipe. As Boneboys said though, persistance is still work in progress, so containers left on the ground like tents or backpacks should be picked up prior to the weekly maintenance to make sure not to loose any stuff. This is not a wipe though. -
A question about renderer and the scope of the game
ChainReactor replied to cuartas's topic in General Discussion
Wait, no. The PS4 announcement was made on Aug 12th 2014. Rocket was already talking about the new renderer in an AMA in January: So the need of a new renderer was in no way connected to the PS4 announcement. Sure its a requirement to have a crossplatform renderer to port the game to PS4, but i highly doubt that they had a PS4 release in mind when they decided to develop a new renderer ( as the old one was really outdated anyway ). -
But you can fix it with a sledgehammer and a hacksaw, so it would fit quite well. :)

3D Scopes using PiP (Pictures In Pictures)
ChainReactor replied to leeroynewman's topic in Suggestions
This. And to resemble this ingame, they should blur the unmagnified part of the screen pretty much, because your eye aiming down the scope would focus on the magnified part. -
Does anyone know how to fix this bug? (invisible ground & player)
ChainReactor replied to Sebidee's topic in Troubleshooting
No, not weird. Problems don't fix themselves, they only loose the reason to occour. That's a sign that it is not a driver / settings problem but rather something more dynamic, like memory load or cpu / gpu temperatures. In what exact situation did it solve itself ? -
You could also just ping the gameserver itself. Just get the servers IP and use windows' ping command via cmd.exe
-
Well, thats in, in an early iteration at least ( hypo / hyperthermia ), also, ingame time has an effect on temperature. Also, players and items getting wet during rain, but this needs additional effects on items imo. Snow and fog will not be possible before the new renderer, as so many stuff.
