I'm not talking about M107s or AS-50s. I mean like M16s with ACOGs, military grade equipment like radios, range finders, protective gear, camouflages, vests. Crap like that. And ofc it should be harder to find. Otherwise it seems very uninteresting to me. If they completely remove the military aspect from the game, I'm out. Gonna wait until they mod-up A3's Dayz. -

I really really hope that Dayz SA will have plenty of military gear, military grade weapons, combat boots, body armor etc. I don't want to play the game as some average joe turd in a polo shirt. -

That's because it's an old build, relax. You can see it's by the look of animations. The new animations are more in line with Arma 3, which are very fluid and smooth. -
Trolling abusive admins. Description: The first guy, [Ghost] Gangsterex1, is an admin on the server. Earlier he stole our SUV on Balota, we later tracked him down and while engaging he teleported like a faggot. The next day we encounter Thor1Steiner and Torsten in heli battle, they shoot down one of our helis, but the pilot survives. We later track them down as well, in the North of the map, and engage them. They obviously have hacked weapons. After we kill them, they respawn at the same spot where they died. We kill them again. This all sounds great so far. Except for the radio feature. Sure, it seems like a cool concept. But, we all know that pro players and just casuals will use TS or skype or w/e to play together. It could be cool to use it for trade with other players, but that's pretty much it. -
The only real threat you can really feel in a game like this is the intimidation provided by a human player. AI is not that smart to hunt you down and out smart you the way a human can. Zombies are supposed to be intimidating in a frightening way, that's the whole point of an apocalypse, they provide pressure now as opposed to the main intimidation like the first days of Dayz you played. The reality is that zombies just become an annoyance once you are familiarized with them. Happens in movies, series(TWD) and games. There is nothing you can do about it but make them just impossible, which in turn will make people rage quit and destroy the game. Who you calling a noob, noob?

I'm talking about games in the genre: FPS. Although this is a milsim, but there isn't any real rival to it in the milsim genre. I completely agree on the framerates, never argued that. For now, Arma 3 looks the most life like for me compared to BF3 and games of that sort, even though I PLAY BF3, I can say that for sure. BF3 is just flashy, colorful game with cartoonish models. And that blue filter.... mother of god, is like playing through a cyborg. It's pretty, but it doesn't look life-like like in Arma 3. Going off-topic here, but had to answer it. If it does get implemented....

I'm not that active on the forums really. I just check in on announcements once in a while. So you're saying that there will be improvement in movements from the A2's in the video we just saw?

Well, I heard they'll add some towns and some small areas, and a small island, utes I think, correct me if I'm wrong. That's cool I guess, but it's just small additions. I guess the pace of looting will change from popular areas(dayz mod) to vehicles and enterable buildings. But do you really think that is a big improvement? Lingor has almost every single house enterable. And yes it was interesting, but it didn't really make a radical impression on me. I already know Chernarus by heart. I've been playing Taviana lately, before that Lingor, and before that Namalsk and to tell you the truth I don't feel any nostalgia towards Chernarus. I had good times on that map, but the map itself is very bland. It does have a very "the walking dead" tone to it, but I burned through that a while ago. Also, I'm kinda puzzled by why didn't Rocket use Arma 3's engine, which is a HUGE improvement from the clunkiness of Arma 2's. I mean, some guys already ported-in Chernarus to A3 in less than 24 hours of Alpha release. That would've been a huge leap forward in terms of movements, animations etc. I'm a bit iffy on this one. Sorry.

What sucks is that it still looks clunky. I mean A3's engine improved on that. It has a good chance of swaying people of to A3. I don't think Dayz will survive with just one map. I mean we'll play it for 2-3 months and then just get bored. When that happened in Dayz mod, we just switched to Taviana, Lingor, Namalsk etc. Been playing since May, now I'm just bored. If they want to do it right, they need to include other maps, like load-ins, or a mission to get to the next map through challenges with varied difficulties. And they need to add in a LOT more content than different colored hoodies and motorcycle helmets. There needs to be a group mechanic implemented and stuff of that sort. The game needs end game beyond just mindless PVP.

This. Arma 2's engine is like the twilight zone, ANYTHING can happen. I once unloaded a full mag on a dude in the firehouse, his char just blinked and somehow he was behind me now and one-shot me in the head. Crazy ass desync, I didn't even have a warning and I don't play on servers with shit ping. -

The server I last played on today is a private hive, usually 32 ping, decent population. Taviana. And there was a hacker on it today, and admins came 5 mins later, banned his ass and restored the people that died by the hacks. But this crap has been happening for awhile now. I don't know, maybe it's just extreme bad luck or coincidence, but I get knocked out alot+broken legs lately. What finally made give up was that I shot a guy with M4A1 CCO close range, he just returned fire with a Makarov incapacitating me and breaking my legs. Then I came back to loot my body, there was another guy roaming there, I shot at him with a Makarov hitting him, he shot back, AGAIN incapacitating me. And I said, "fuck this shit, I'm out". -

Wow, just wow. I didn't miss him. My mouse is fucked for some reason. But that's not the point. If you look closer you can see blood splashing out on the hits. The hits that went through were perfect. Also, we already knew he was in the perimeter, we were following him all along and we knew he was alone in the vicinity. That was a pure desync, as you can see he disappeared right after the 4th shot. I maybe missed one shot. Those are DMR bullets. A similar thing happened later that day on the airfield, I suddenly fall down, no shots, just blinking blood and all of a sudden a dude magically appears over my corpse trying to loot me, realizing I'm still alive. My ping on that server was 50. So don't tell me it's all in the spirit of the game. I understand if I'd run out like a retard in that situation and get wasted, fine, I suck. But that was complete BS, that desync altered the fairness and I thought I actually got him, so I ran out. @Sausage, I was already considerably frustrated at that point, that's why I flipped. That shit is annoying as fuck, so is getting incapacitated every single time someone shoots at you, yet when I fucking shoot nothing happens to them they just return fire with blood gushing out. -

Like I implied, this bullshit trumps skill/tactics. I already pointed out that I get knocked out even when I have the tactical advantage. And it wasn't so bad before, I kicked ass all the time. Now, even when I make 10 shots on them, they just stand there, shoot me once with the most shitty weapon possible, I fall down, the run over and finish me off. And 80% of the time my legs are broken after these shots. I just don't get it. It's like all of a sudden my computer make the probability to get knocked out and my legs broken to shit by 2 out of 3 times. It's so frustrating now. I move correctly, I attack correctly, but when the engagements comes, the game is like "lol fuck you bro". Here is a video I made a month ago. Tell me this isn't bullshit. Yeah, I kinda am. Like I said, it doesn't matter what weapon I have, or what advantage I have(element of surprise, first shot), I still get knocked out 90% of the time. This started happening recently, for some reason. Right now it's just retarded. If you think it's fair after you read my previous post then you probably have a chromosome missing. -

Shit, sorry for the necro. But anyways, I'm quitting because of this bs. This has been happening a lot to me lately. When in a fair fire fight, where I out gun the opponent, I get knocked out 90%(No bullshit) of the time by every single weapon, from Makarov to AS-50. Just had my last straw fighting in Boye on Taviana map, with ping of about 32 most of the time. This happened to be 4 times in a row today even though I had the element of surprise, first shot etc. I shot a guy in the neck about 5 times, 10 meters away with an M4A1 CCO, the guy just stands there, does one to two shots at me with a Makarov, I fall down unconscious with about 9,000 blood left, while he is squirting blood from multiple upper body wounds. He just calmly walks over, shoots me in the head and trolls away. I began playing this game in May, when it first release when there was only like 5-10 servers. For some reason this desync, bs or w/e is happening started about 2 months ago. Anyways. here is to waiting for Dayz standalone, where I hope this idiocy won't happen. Because wtf is the point to keep playing if you're doing everything right and by the numbers and still get your ass killed in the stupidest of ways. Most of my deaths occur from this now, hackers, and stupid bugs where you break your legs and die like you stepped on a floor made of AIDS. Anyone else having this problem? -
I've made that same mistake with Diablo 3 as well. I wanted it released fast and look at what happened. I learned my lesson. I hope Rocket and his team take as much time as the need to get it just right. Because the disappointment after release, if it's rushed and it sucks, hurts much much more. Because Diablo 3 ruined Diablo universe for me and many others and I fucking hate blizzard for that now. I hope it won't happen here.
