There is no such thing as a Ukrainian heritage. Belarus, Ukraine, Russia are all rooted in Rus' culture, all of them are Rus people. Kievan Rus ring any bells?
-
Yours sounds like a vacation lol. I'm jelly.
-
I'm going to BMT on Dec 3rd. Just imagine how long before I even get to SEE it released lol.
-
I fail to see how useful would switching a weapon while in movement be, especially with the clunky movement. Sorry, it's not even close to Arma 3. The movement in first person looks exactly the same as in Dayz mod
-
That is precisely the reason why I think Dayz SA team should've used Arma 3's engine, which is a huge improvement. It is much more fluid and modern.
-
I don't know... I actually like the milsim part of Dayz, and Arma series as a whole. But it's not a big deal for me really. What disappoints me in that video is same old clunkiness of Arma 2 engine, it just doesn't look right. The environment and inventory and how the player model looks with all the interchangeable gear looks amazing, much better than the mod. But the zombies still act retarded and the movement, especially in 1st person, is awful. If they didn't change it throughout all this time then that probably means it won't really change. I don't blame the team, they're not a AAA gaming company.
-
So, like, when is the SA coming out?
-
IS it really going to be 30 USD at alpha release? That's a bit steep.
-
But it still won't be the same as it was the first time you played Dayz. That shock-value has pretty much gone by now. I remember shitting my pants when I first heard a zombie snarl in the dark. The more difficult the zombies now, the more annoying they are to veteran Dayz players. You grow accustomed to it. So don't think you'll be reliving those first magical days of Dayz. That is gone forever, unfortunately. But we all have good memories of it.
-
Fuck. I knew this was too good to be true. Well shit.
-
Well, Dayz mod is still technically in Alpha. In fact it has always been alpha, lol. Is it shit too? I bet you don't think that since you're part of this community.
-
There has been too much hype and "its happening" crap lately that I've lost any hope that it will come out soon.
-
I'm shipping out December 3rd... I was hoping for a pre December release and now it doesn't look like it will happen....FUUUUUUUUUUUU
-
Okay.... so you want BI to turn into the same assholes that run EA and DICE, why are you even here then? Have you noticed the type of people that play those games lately? I don't want that in my Dayz! No fucking way. It will gain momentum once the game is actually awesome and not full of butthole 12 year olds. No offense to normal 12 year olds. They'll make enough money, don't worry about that.
-
I remember Rocket stating somewhere that he wanted this, to filter out the impatient players who just want to play and not really test the game in the beginning. So this is more effective. They'll come back in time. NEVER overhype a game too much. So, the devs are doing a good thing here. Also, imagine the release day, we won't have as much flooding and lag as other famous releases(ie Diablo 3).

It's been like a month and a half since the last real devblog. It's on, it has to be. I'm betting nearing Halloween. That would be perfect.
-
@AnarchyBrownies I think they did the best they could. The shitty arma 2 engine is at fault here. Even though they modified it slightly, I don't think the Dayz SA team has resources to completely redo the entire thing. I wouldn't expect anything special happening with the zombie pathfinding, other than slight improvement.
-
I agree, but it can be modified to only store a limited number of weapons and items. Like maybe 2 weapons at most, stuff like that. It will slightly alleviate the rage you feel after you get killed or bugged or glitched. Not too much though so that it feels like you still lost good amounts of shit. I'm sure it can be modified.
-
I just don't see it. I think dayz origins has it right so far with the buildings and code locks and food and variety in items, clothing etc. Building your own home in dayz that will last for a long time should be tedious because it is very useful and has huge benefits, so the effort pays off big time. But doing tedious tasks for trivial things is game breaking imo. It might be fun the first few days as you assemble your gas cooker, but it WILL get annoying. For example, combining gas canisters with other materials to make an IED, that is useful and interesting and complex enough. Combining ten parts just build some trivial item is idiotic.
-
It's not just that. It is a game after all. And you don't need that kind of depth of realism in a game. There should be some level of realism but not the point where it almost the same and tedious as real world. We play games to escape the REAL world. For example, finding gas cookers. Fine, you find a gas cooker and that should be all you need to cook food forever until you get killed. If they start making it so that you have find other parts for it, like the actual expandable fuel canister and etc then that becomes completely unnecessary. Because all you'll do is run around looking for different parts to gas canisters, purification tablets, and different antibiotics etc. That might add up in spending your entire day without any actual gameplay just so you can eat.
-
There is a huge difference between being complex and just being annoyingly complex that it's boring and makes people give up. I mean what's next? Are they going to add a jack-off meter? Or wiping your ass faster when you're at rest in order to faster get into combat. Some of those things are completely unnecessary, like purification tablets for example. The customization system is awesome. It's complex enough and it looks like it will be fun. things like that are fine. But right now it seems they're going over the top and they don't even have a real plan for the game. Rocket seems to be all over the place and he can't make up his mind. That's what bothers me.
-
I have a feeling they're going to overdo the game. Small example being the complex medical system with different antibiotics for different conditions. I actually think that current dayz mod system is enough. Also, he keeps talking about all these open ended additions to the game, seems like 2+ years work. "We want to look at this, we want to look at that and maybe this and that". Jesus Christ, Rocket, make up your mind dude. He's adding in WAY too much unnecessary stuff into the game, which might break it for people.

You should've asked whether there is any other head gear apart from motorcycle helmets, FFS! They keep pushing that damn motorcycle helmet almost in every single gameplay video they present. It's like they have nothing else to show other than the damn motor helmets.

E3 Expo - June 2013 - Interviews and Gameplay

Yes, I remember Rocket saying that when he had the old A2 animations. When I saw the gameplay with the A3 animations, I was pleased. I thought they'd stick with them. Because, most people that bought and played A3 Alpha have praised the improved animations and movement. So I thought that was the actual progress. It just looks worse now, to me. And I'm not the only one here that thinks so. -

The A3 animations I saw in earlier gameplay vids, recent ones, looked way better and more fluid. This, to me, looks like a step back. I understand that they want their "own" animations in the game, but I don't think they're up for it. I mean, the zombie animations don't look like anything exciting either. It looks like they're flying through the air instead of walking/running, it looks awkward. They messed something up since the last time. My excitement for SA has dropped significantly after this presentation. And it's a sucky feel.
