Oh joy, another one of these.
-
Unfair? You are definitely playing the wrong game, friend. DayZ isn't meant to be fair.
-
Only people who don't like a challenge.
-
Because more people equals more loot being picked up. Loot respawn does not equal endless unlimited loot.

It's not clearly broken. I had guns, ammo, waterproof bags and clothes, food, everything I needed to stay alive. I did find many areas that were completely dry except for useless clutter, but that's to be expected on populated servers.

Oh, and #2: Don't lose your shit if you lose your shit ;)

That's rule #1 of survival: Flee the coast if you want to live. Stay, and you'll either starve or get killed by someone else.

Are there any plan on forcing a Day/Night cycle?
sachad replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
Let the server owners decide, I say. Right now I'm not a fan of night, since I always assume everyone else around me is gamma cheating and therefor posesses a seriously unfair advantage, so I either end up cranking up the gamma myself, which just makes it DayZ in greyscale, or I end up leaving. -
I certainly hope not. Battle Royale is miles away from what DayZ strives to be.

Final Thoughts from an Early MOD player....
sachad replied to xalienax's topic in General Discussion
The SA isn't the mod. I thought that was pretty much the entire point of it? -
Burlap sacks can be crafted into improvised courier bags, which in turn can be crafted into improvised backpacks. Rope + burlap sack = 4x3 courier bag Courier bag + sticks = 4x5 backpack But with the amount of better backpacks lying around, this is usually just a very temporary storage. Also they can be used to create strips for ghillie suits.

None of the posts in this topic have convinced me that aerial vehicles would be a good addition to the game...

"OMG silly devs if you don't listen to your playerbase and cater to as many of them as possible you will never be successful!" "OMG this game is just like all the others why am I still playing this OMG devs try to be original for once!"

You don't even need an axe these days. Just go to a wooded area and search the ground for sticks. As long as you have some rags or bandages available, you can craft a splint.
-
If you're dead, you're dead. If you don't know what killed you, then clearly you weren't paying enough attention.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing something like blood stains on your character model when in inventory, depending on where you were hit, but that's about as far as I'd go.
-
Who are these people that need to pick apples and berries just to stay alive? I can count the instances where I've had to do that on one hand.
-
KOS is as valid as playstyle as the next. Learn from your mistakes. Never let anyone get the drop on you.
-
When's the last time you saw someone in DayZ who wasn't wearing some kind of face cover? 90% of people I meet are masked these days. And reading someone really isn't as easy as it sounds. You cannot judge a person at first glance, not in the real world, not in DayZ. Some of the world's worst mass murderers were the friendly neighbor type, literally.

The pitchfork, the ultimate weapon for the zombie apocalypse enthusiast
sachad posted a topic in General Discussion
Because honestly, how boss is it to just stab those new, gnarly zombies through a broken window? Yes, folks, the pitchfork is now your weapon of choice. Forget axes and hammers. Those nasty zeds will still get to you before you drop them. Far better is it to just draw their attention, run inside a hous (be sure to check that all the doors are closed!), going to a broken window, waiting for the angry reaver to start mean-mugging you, and straight up stab them in the head! This post was brought to you by the Chernarussian Association of Pitchfork Enthusiasts. -
I don't care if the loot system wasn't 100% ready
sachad replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
The .55 loot system was pretty broken. It wasn't just rolled back because people were complaining. There were huge areas of the map where literally nothing was spawning, not even the usual clutter like hammers and pliers. Some areas spawned endless amounts of only a select few items. I remember finding dozens upon dozens of red berets in Svetlo, along with cleavers, tactical bacon and .380 boxes, but nothing else whatsoever. -
Those make me so angry... Also pens.

What's the fascination with having pristine clothes?
sachad replied to HarryPotter (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Because no one said you cannot survive the apocalypse in style. -
I'd rather not. If you want to earn a reputation, earn it well and true.

Survivor Gamez VI Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]
sachad replied to tux (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
There are not enough beans in this world to demonstrate the awesomeness of these words.
