I found an empty drum mag in the middle of the street in Berezino :P
-
That is a good point. Some time ago I was trying to find a friend in the forest north of Novo, went right past that little town and into the debug zone. Felt... wrong.

I've never seen a PM in the game... To be honest I still believe that it is some elaborate hoax played on me by all of you.
-
I've had this problem since a few updates ago. Only one time did it completely block my path though, so for me this isn't really a priority issue. It's one of the times nobody would fault you for hopping ;)

I imagine the bean eater would look somewhat like your avatar.

Wells not working? What's persistence?
sachad replied to Shotta (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
It brings back your blood levels, and when that is full, you start healing. -
On my way to Severograd from Novo I ran into two survivors, who turned out to be a real life couple. Friendly folk, I let them borrow my knife to open some cans, they gave me some spare Mosin ammo, and when it came time to part ways again I told them my name and asked theirs. They called themselves Justin Vybor and Zeleno Gomez. I laughed all the way to Severograd.

Character is constantly corrupted by servers, making it impossible to save character progress
sachad replied to t1337dude's topic in Troubleshooting
Log out immediately and try another server. Your old character isn't lost until you move from your spot and save your new character. -
We can agree on that at least!

There is always law. All it takes is someone to enforce it. But, the point I was trying to make is, just because you're a shitty marksman and can't actually kill anyone, doesn't make you not a KoSer.
-
So they're shitty KOSers, but still KOSers. You go to jail for attempted murder too.
-
I keep some spare cans of peaches on me at all times, and a canteen, but usually I eat and drink on the go, and save the storage space for other stuff.
-
Man, I am still giggling over these two. I've seen some hilarious names, but they really take the cake... I need a name like that too... Carmen Elektro?

I miss the global text chat channel that was in the MOD

If people don't use them, their loss. If you can't spare the two slots for a walkie, you deserve the solitude :P -
Melee takes some practice, and even after hundreds of melee kills I still end up flailing my axe around like a discount serial killer sometimes.
-
If you're a bandit and don't want to hide it, just straight up rob and/or murder some people.

Handcuffed while logging in, impossible to break out.
sachad replied to Apocrypha8's topic in General Discussion
How'd you know they were badly damaged? As far as I can tell it doesn't let you know what state the cuffs on your wrists are in. They could've been pristine for all you know. And pristine cuffs take a lot of time to break. My mate once cuffed me for a laugh, then realized neither of us had keys, so I stood there like a jackass for at least 20 minutes wriggling about. On the other hand I've broken free from bandit cuffs in under a minute. -
Let's drag The Walking Dead into this: Take Rick Grimes. Dude looks like a bewildered animal, and has killed more live humans than anyone else on the show. This suggested gut feeling would tell you to run the fuck away from this crazy bastard. But Rick is a good person at heart, and only kills to defend himself or his group.

My personal preference would be dragging the body out of sight. Or into plain sight, if I was feeling particularly dastardly. I can agree that a magic *POOF* command to make a body disappear isn't very realistic, but I'm sure we'll see it improved upon. Burning should be an option too, but one that would possibly attract unwanted attention from the smoke and the light (if at night). And I wouldn't want to waste precious fuel on burning a corpse if I can just dump it in a nearby ditch somewhere.

It's an entirely plausible scenario in a post-apocalyptic world. Slavery is as old a concept as civilization, and in a world where the only authority comes from those strong enough to impose it, slavery will always have a place...

That's some epic widescreen right there. What resolution is that?

When will real ballistics and penetration be implemented ?
sachad replied to anotherdeadhero's topic in General Discussion
When talking about exploding gas tanks it's worth noting that it is not the fuel itself that ignites, but the vapors coming off it. You can literally drop a match in some gasoline and it won't ignite. But hold the match slightly above the gasoline, and the vapors will ignite. -
So vulnerable targets being forced into labor by and for those stronger than them? Why would that be a bad thing? It's a more legit approach than the endless 'spawn-loot-fight-die' loop most people get stuck in. It may suck for the freshies, but they can try to escape, or maybe a band of heroes will stumble upon them and free them, or maybe one of them whacks a guard in the head and takes the gun to unleash sweet vengeance upon his captors, setting his companions free, and ultimately succumbing to the hunger for power.

Zombies now run through the ground and have no attack limit?
sachad replied to BoBoSlap's topic in New Player Discussion
I now consider the floor zombie glitch a blessing, since it basically means you get a free, no-effort zombie kill without even having to go outside! And it only seems to happen in police stations and the big houses with the central hallway and two big rooms on either side. -
Right, so your defense is 'I didn't read the whole thing, just the thing that made me ANGRY!'. Have you considered a career in politics? And FYI, I don't plan on farming much. I'll have people to do that for me.
