Maybe add a significant probability that your character will just start projectile vomiting the moment he bites into that man steak. Or that he'll just get sick and die if not treated. edit: Well, right now, there is no real way to get diseased unless you eat or get force fed some rotten food or disinfectant, which is a very rare occurence. BUT. Once diseases are actively infecting scores of players, cannibalism comes with its own inherent risks... And maybe add some diseases that aren't curable, and very hard to survive. I'd just go around telling people I've got ebola or something so they wouldn't eat me.

Not an unimportant consideration: the SKS is much, much easier to come by than the AKM. And the SKS doesn't require mags.

I mostly stick to the east side of the map.

Well, if you want a refund, you'll need to talk to Steam, I suppose.

That's how ebola spreads you know...

No, because the crux of my point is, as someone mentioned, that nobody's forcing you to play DayZ. And the side point is that, as someone else mentioned, most people complaining about privacy issues give up way more information on the internet than they will ever do to BEC. Kind of like how people used to complain on Facebook and Google+ about the nefarious NSA violating their privacy. People complain about hackers and cheaters, but they also complain when measures are taken to fix the problem. Measures showing at least some promise, given those quotes from the cheater community. You can't always have your cake and eat it too.

It's OK because you said it's OK. You agreed to the terms, after all. If you don't think it's OK, then you simply don't install the program, OK?

Jolly good! Is that near Dobroe? I love that bar, ever since I stumbled across it and found a Mosin + LRS + compensator in the upstairs rooms.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]

Lol, another guy who can't kill zombies worth a damn  -
I'm friendly. Never fired the first shot. Well, I did shoot a few bandits but they shot other people so it's okay.

Don't have a cow, man.

What Do You Consider To Be "Exploiting" In This Game?
sachad replied to cheeseburger8's topic in New Player Discussion
Well to me cheating is when you deliberately break rules to get ahead. Hopping and looting on empty servers isn't against the rules, therefor not cheating. Whether or not it is sportsmanlike is an entirely other debate, though. -
Blowout sale! 100% off! Everything must go! Take one, take two, take as many as you like!

They mean it's no longer super easy to take someone down from 800 yards with one shot.

As boiling water is one of the basics of survival anywhere, it'd be a gross oversight to not add the feature in game.

I love Shrub Rocketeer™ -
Magazines are easy to find. Many people have them. Take them.

A lot of the issues you mentioned aren't really issues to me, but challenges. Spawning next to a zombie sucks, but it's not a guaranteed death sentence. Neither is not finding loot or food within 100 yards of spawning. Chernarus is not a fun place to be. Sometimes, you're gonna die and there's nothing you can do about it. As for lack of zombies, I think that's a good thing right now. If you take into account the amount of bitching going on about zombies already, imagine the shitstorm if they multiplied their numbers. And lastly, I'd advise against saying things like "they should fix zombies before adding new stuff", because that's exactly the kind of argument that needs to be disproven over and over ad nauseam because people don't realize that that is not how game development works.

At times like these I am reminded of the words of the Reverend Troy McClure. "Don't kid yourself, Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd eat you and everyone you care about!"

Sad thing is we'll never know it's name... Just another Doe...

Can we have some Nazi zombies mayhaps?

If I spawn on the coast, I make to the nearest town or city, gather basic supplies, and book it inland. Decidely less bullets whizzing past my ear there.

Joined .50 for the first time, lost my well-geared guy within 10 minutes of reaching Elektro. That'll teach me for standing still on a rooftop. Strangely, I felt kind of relieved since carrying all that fancy gear around made me paranoid as hell. So, respawned near Berezino, ready for the new Chernarus. Started with nothing, upgraded to cattle prod/cargo pants, then found a splitting axe, so my next order became finding rope and sticks to make a backpack. After that, found some wire so I decided to try a rabbit snare and fish trap, got some sardines but no rabbit. Found a Longhorn, good for scoping the surroundings. Whacked a few zeds, found some aviators (bling!) and a check coat. Picked up a spare raincoat and some hiking boots, found a few cans of food and drink, which made me happy. Then I picked up a drybag, good god I love them already! Chucked my axe at a cow trying to kill it, and couldn't find it back so now I have to use the cattle prod. Picked up a crossbow with holosight and bolts someone left in a shed... wonder what they found to replace it! Found some ammo for the Longhorn and a long range scope for the Mosin I'm hunting now. And finally, in one of the tiny wood houses, I found a pink derringer! So now I've got good survival gear, I am energized, hydrated and healthy, I've got some spare food and drink, I've got a crossbow and Longhorn with ammo, and a mission: Find a Mosin, and find some .45 ACP ammo!

Or he forgot to pick it back up after reloading... Lord knows I've been there :P
