Heh, SuperBot mutator for the zeds? Make them a proper threat!

What is exactly happening or wrong when fighting zombies?
sachad replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
They're not technically zombies, but infected humans. Think 28 Days Later. -
Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]

Oh please let this be a real story. What lies did they tell you exactly? This game is in early alpha stage? Many game-breaking bugs may occur? THIS GAME IS NOT FUCKING FINISHED YET? Asshat. -

It's 30 bucks, stop calling it an investment. I already got my money's worth out of this game, and then some. -
"I'm Rick Grimes, bitch!"

Heh, I remember this guy who was very friendly, but his constant insisting that we go to Elektro to loot had me wary. I was 100% convinced he was about to lead me to my doom, so I ran off into the woods like a coward :P

My first bug-out bag for other survivors! Everything you need for surviving in style! I came back an hour later and the bag was still there, but most of the stuff was gone. He did leave the .45 ACP ammo, which is weird since he took the derringer. Oh well.

Stop being stingy and just drop the money for the alpha. Don't listen to the "You should wait cause right now the game is too bugged" crowd, their logic is faulty. Why would you wait? Buy it now, for cheaper, even if it is too buggy for your taste right now, you can just hold off playing the game until it's further into development. Waiting just means you'll pay more, and face it, the fact that this is a difficult decision for you just shows you're gonna end up buying it at some point anyway. -
I've only ever been attacked two or three times when logging in. One was a player who just happened to run by, the other two were zombies which I dispatched rather easily before they could even reach me. As for not getting time to respond, my game loads in under 5 seconds most of the time. That is decidedly not enough time for a zombie to kill you.

I'm finding them everywhere. Try garages, fire stations, pretty much any building with some shelves and you'll find one before too long.
-
I'm finding fire axes in car cemeteries. The one outside Chernaya Polana had 3 of them.
-
Well, a few might use the option. But in all my time playing DayZ I've never seen anyone walk any considerable distance. Some jog, but most sprint.
-
Walking as a means of transportation all the time doesn't work in a video game.
-
Not really a set location. I've found them in civilian, emergency service and military spawns. They seem a lot rarer than before though.
-
Kamewobo? That's awesome xD
-
I'm still having fun. Are you not having fun? I'm sort of glad they're glitchy, because otherwise they'd be even less of a threat than they already are. At least now you risk getting blindsided once in a while.
-
But then you're pissing on the 'lore' again. The DayZ zombies aren't self-aware, they're just mindless murder machines.
-
Maybe we could have player-created death zones? Some of those giant cisterns in the industrial areas look like they might have some nasty stuff in them...
-
I love the Magnum. Ammo isn't too hard to find, and it doesn't require a magazine. And it kills 'em dead! Though for me it's not a choice between the Magnum and the sawn-off. I'll take both.

A new approach to the bandits and heros situation
sachad replied to con_hathy (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
No system is needed. Let the KOSers KOS, and let everyone else play however they want. There should be no forced set of consequences for your actions. -
Hope you remembered to get a battery ;)

Went to Chernaya to rummage through the scrap yard, found an MP-133 and two boxes of shells, then I went to the fire station. I run into a guy in a yellow raincoat coming out with a fire axe and immediately get hit. He chased me for a bit while I was bleeding, then finally I managed to graze him with the shotgun and he took off bleeding. I bandaged up and went looking for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. About 10 minutes later I climbed up the fire station tower for a better view but he seemingly vanished. But as I came down I spotted him running towards the station, and he had not seen me. I ran around back, confirmed he was in the tower, and I just stood downstairs with my shotgun ready. He came down, and I shot him. Vengeance, and his fire axe, were mine.

Just get both and be done with it :)

Yes! Every time I am hopeful for some words, and every time those hopes are crushed. Personally I always have a note on me. Usually some bits and pieces about where I've been and what I've been through. And since .51 came to exp, my consent to consume my body if you are in dying need.

Make either more experimental servers, or lessen the restart time of experimental servers.
sachad replied to cheeseburger8's topic in Suggestions
I don't even bother looking for anything on the coast anymore. As soon as I have my bearings I'll head inland. Places like Khelm, Tulga, Msta and Pusta are tiny and unattractive at first glance, but on experimental servers they are goldmines. I found a repeater with ammo in Tulga, as well as food, water, clothes and a hoe. I'm considerig guiding bambis along the southeastern coastline, because all too often I see these semi-geared dudes dead on the coastal road with no shirt and no food or drink... bled out or starved to death. I don't even want to know what places like Novo and Svetlo are like on busy experimental servers.
