There's places for that. Servers with "500% MILITARY LOOT" or variants thereof are prime hunting grounds ;)
-
Eh... leave that stuff for the modders once the game is published, I say. The DayZ Mod got its own mods as well, which catered to a variety of game styles.
-
I'd say I'm chaotic neutral, leaning ever so slightly towards the good.
-
See? Your buddy didn't need any new mechanics to shit himself in fear for 10 minutes straight. The paranoia came naturally.
-
Part of the thrill of the game is finding your way. Selectable spawn zones take that away. Death should have consequences beyond a 30 second spawn counter. If you want to stick with your buddies, decide on a meeting point, find your way there, and stick together. Stay alive, and log off in the same place. Then you can be together for as long as you like. But don't expect us to play a watered-down version of the game, because you don't want to do the effort of finding your buddies the hard way. And if that means the game isn't fun for you, then don't play.

When finding a gun without a mag, just imagine that someone came before you, took the mag, but left the gun.

What do you think hardcore survival means? Walk five minutes, get fed, find a vehicle, drive off into the sunset? You're definitely playing the wrong game from the sound of it. Working vehicles will likely be as rare, if not rarer than they are now, because in addition to fuel, you'll need various parts to get them working. And with zombies becoming more dangerous and basic survival becoming more difficult, getting a vehicle will be a distant problem.

If someone is being an ass, report them to the server admins. No need to get a global chat police.
-
Well, I'm sure that if there was a need for more data on vehices, we'd know. Personally I think it's fine the way it is. Remember this is just one of the vehicles they'll add. Once they get around to smaller things like ATVs and bikes, we'll see more than 3 per server restart.
-
Part of testing involves scarcity. There are enough people finding vehicles that they are getting sufficient data, and people not finding them counts as data as well.

Introduce Easy Mode with no health regen issues and never lose loot from death
sachad replied to john5220's topic in Suggestions
Because what you're suggesting is not survival, it's a tactical shooter. Go play a tactical shooter. We're playing a survival game here. -
Because then everyone would be in here whining that their servers get taken down for maintenance and updates all the time.

Whats The Hardest Part To Find For Your Fireman Gear?
sachad replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
The only parts I've found so far are the pants and the helmet. -
As a little test, I'd like everyone to check this screenshot from my hardcore character, and from just that try to guess my character's survival style. For clarity, my character is wearing a Riders jacket, black cargo pants, Redpunk boots, plain black balaclava, black radar cap and aviators, and carrying a black drybag, all pristine. The reason I'm interested is because I want to know if stereotypes are valid, and how much people are affected by it. And if you think I'm giving myself away by conspicuously asking, think again, the answer may surprise you.

There's plenty of guns that don't require magazines. SKS, Mosin, Repeater, Winchester (?), Magnum, both shotguns, and the Derringer. Crossbow and improvised bow too, if that's your thing. That selection includes all my favorite guns, and one of the main reasons is precisely because they can be operated without the need to find magazines. For them, things like speed loaders and clips are bonuses, not requirements. And when talking about the military-grade guns, you'll typically have the mags before the gun. I've found 4 AKM mags but no gun. 2 CMAGs but no M4 or AUG. And I found the FNX clip before I found my FNX.

The map doesn't morph. If you're going in circles, then obviously you weren't going straight :P

Time to remove all the fresh fruit/veg loot?
sachad replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
I believe they're referring to a bug that caused server crashes if someone on the server threw a splint. -

Pray tell, what is an infinite kiwi? -
Play on a private server that you like, then. I've got 2 that I frequently play on. And the kicker is, you get a separate character for each one, so server hoping is pointless, meaning a larger percentage of the players are decent, with many of them having recurring characters. It gives a touch of continuity that public servers lack.

So, can someone explain how exactly THIS little thing makes sense?
sachad replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
I eat pretty much anything I come across EXCEPT rice, powdered milk, tuna or sardines, and I never have issues with overstuffing or malnutrition. 90% of the time my guy is energized and hydrated, and if either status drops, I eat or drink the next thing I find. Never stuffed, and I can't remember the last time I came close to starvation on stable. Peaches are my still favorite though. -
I agree about the clothes taking up more space than they should, but if they reduce the space they take up, they should also make it impossible to carry items inside. Or give us the choice between folding the clothes or not.

I kinda like the unknown factors. Adds another layer of despair :P

Relax, a-hole, it was a joke.
