When did people start hating on the game so hard?
sachad replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
A lot of the feedback is along the lines of "OMG STOP ADDING STUFF AND FIX HACKERS AAARGHH" or "why dont we have 17 different vehicles yet?" or "I PAID 30 BUCKS FOR THIS SHIT FUCK YOU I WANT MY MONEY BACK!" or "Dean Hall is sipping margaritas with our money and the game wont ever be finished!" That qualifies as stupid feedback. Feedback that is constructive and sensible is used. No point in denying that. Just because they don't add everything that is suggested right away doesn't mean they're ignoring people. -
Congratulations, you've won the Bill O'Reilly Award for making an argument so inane there is no dignified response to it.
-
Because they're not trying to survive. They're trying to kill anything that isn't dead or infected, that's it.
-
I used to throw obviously duped gear away in the woods somewhere, but now I just leave it.

You must be heaven to sit in a movie theatre with... A little suspension of disbelief goes a long way. Otherwise, why play a game set in a fictional place overrun with a rage virus.

Says who? Maybe a lot of the feedback is just so dumb it's not worth considering. -
The few times I encountered zombies standing next to a corpse, they were just standing there. When you're alive but unconscious, they'll still want to kill you.
-
Who says they don't starve? It took the 28DL zombies up to 4 weeks to die, and the virus managed to infect enough people to keep it going for at least another 28 weeks (as shown in the aptly named sequel 28 Weeks Later). The zombies you encounter in DayZ might have only been infected for a few days for all you know.

Met my first, no doubt, hacker today. Good job devs! (no, really!)
sachad replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
I've got around 400 hours, and I've only encountered one certain hacker using a teleport hack. My hopping days are long gone, and if I'm not playing on a private server, I'm picking ones with at least 10-15 players. There's been a few times my death seemed unexplainable, until you realize that gun noise is bugged, and Mosin bullets are supersonic. And DeatHTaX, give it a rest, would you? Your "mustn't say the word 'hackers'!" schtick is getting old. -
They don't eat anything. Really, the best reference are the rage zombies from 28 Days Later. All they do is kill anything non-infected that moves. They don't eat, so they starve to death eventually, as shown in the final scene of the movie. The only difference between those zombies and the DayZ ones is that DayZ zeds don't infect players, as players have a natural immunity to the virus.
-
There is a backstory. Someone even posted a timeline detailing all the events leading up to where we are right now.
-
Anything moving other than other zombies will attract them, which is just fine by me. Remember these aren't the cannibal-type undead zombies, but humans infected with a rage virus. They don't want to eat you, they just want to kill you.

Voices don't slow down when you've lost blood. Everything just becomes a lot more... vague.

kos vs. being a filthy sniper with a fetish for violence

Your playing style is as valid as the next, but I really hope you weren't expecting anyone to think of you as some kind of badass.- 59 replies

We're not playing soldier here, we're playing survivor. Accurately shooting a gun at those ranges is extremely difficult for novice shooters even under ideal conditions.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
sachad replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
With splitting axes quite easy to find (just look for the one specific shed), I just run away from zombies til I get an axe, then I turn around and kill them. -
It's possible, and with a bit of practice, becomes quite easy! I've been trying for a 3fer, but no success so far.
-
Hitting something at 200 meters becomes a challenge? Outrageous. It should be a challenge to hit something at 50 metres.

Let us enter a world of pain! -
What does you meeting your buddies faster got to do with feedback? The game's not designed for you to find your friends any more easily than it should. Only douchebags with gang mentalities need that.

I've got 2 30 round mags and 2 drums, but no AKM :P

No need to go that far. Just stand still on open ground for a few seconds. -
If someone is being an obnoxious ass for whatever reason, blast them. See them again? More bullets to the face. Nobody is saying racism is cool. But this is a game where murder, theft, torture, intimidation, and violence in general are as common as day and night. Not for the feint of heart, is what I'm getting at. And, at the risk of sounding like an ass, if some 12 year old with a potty mouth and bad upbringing is enough to bring you down, you really should stay away from online games.

And let's not forget the old fake-out! Yes, Cuban B!

I've never type-chatted with anyone inside the game. Voice only. How are you going to monitor that?
