The good old Izh-43. I think it was in Kamyshovo. I'd gotten lucky and spawned there just after a restart so I managed to gear up and get a shotgun with some ammo in the police station, when coming back out some bambi ran up to me and tried to hit me with a pitchfork so I shot him. -
Well, I could see how the amplified volume for shouting could be a useful tool. As St. Jimmy said, some people might not be able to be actually shouting into their mics.

Unless I am totally uninformed on how microphones work, can't you just whisper into the mic to whisper in game?

I'd say just today, when I went on to play DayZ after copious amounts of alcohol, and got shot trying to kill a guy with a hockey stick.

I find a fair few of them in taverns and garages. They seem to spawn less than the LRS in the same places, but they're definitely around.

To give you an example, today was about freezing temperature, and I'm wearing jeans, a wifebeater, a t-shirt, one sweater, two hoodies, a leather coat, two pairs of socks, work boots and a scarf. And if I had any decent gloves I'd wear those too.

Indeed, kind of weird that anything and everything you find serves or will serve a purpose. Plus I kind of want a Jesus bobble head to carry around.

Because beards are a relatively easy addition compared to malnutrition and body weight. Also, just having beards would add some level of immersion. Right now everyone's looking like they've had a shave this morning before having some eggs and toast and a cup of coffee, before taking the 8.15 bus to Chernarus for work. Having an impressive beard could be the mark of a true survivor, since the longer the beard, the longer they've been alive. It could help with identification, now that I think of it.

Drivable Hiluxes are in the works, if I'm not mistaken. The Mod had the VW Golf, though I'm not sure if that'll make the cut. I'll gladly take a Saab or Volvo if they ever make it to the game. Those things are nigh indestructable!

Yeah, but that is now. Right now the game offers a very poor survival aspect. The biggest danger in Chernarus is lead poisoning after all. But, these changes are being suggested as if this is an accurate representation of the finished game, which it isn't.

Have you been living under a rock? Making survival more difficult has been on the roadmap since before I even heard of DayZ.

Showing someone your back while he's talking to you is quite uncourteous, bordering plain insulting. I would have shot you too and I'm by no means a violent survivor. -
I assume you want it to be so you can only kill zombies with headshots? I also assume you think that the zombies in DayZ are the dead come back to life. But they're really just humans with a rage virus, very much alive and breathing. What's fatal to survivors is fatal to them.

Realism is great and all, but you cannot reasonably expect a 100% true to life experience. If you want that, you shouldn't be at a computer in the first place. While I greatly welcome as much realism as possible, I don't want it to go to a ridiculous level. I don't want to have to pee or poo every day, or spend 15-60 seconds changing in and out of clothes every time I find something new to wear.
