Chainsaws in game? Where. Never seen one!

A guy I met had a sword that he got from the Rog castle. He did say it took him ages to find one.

    My kingdom for a splint!

I hear this a lot, but I don't seem to have this problem. I crafted a splint just fine on a private hive today. Just the basic wooden stick and rag combo.
  3. Well, try taking a heavy hit from a bat to the temple or top of your skull, and tell us how you feel when you wake up... And comparing zombies to humans isn't really flying. Those aren't bumbly walking corpses, they're live human beings in infinite ultra-berserk mode. Also, who the hell uses a bat anyway. Get an axe or a sledgehammer. Or a hatchet, those are super fun. So your similarities are the premise, the map and some basics. That's basically what I said, but here goes anyway. The inventory is way sleeker than that mess they had in the Mod. Not perfect, but they'r working on it. Weapons, buildings, loot, I'm not sure what you mean here. Should weapons be working differently? Also, almost every building is now enterable, which is a far cry from the Mod. As for grabbing ledges and climbing, that's easier said than done. The amount of work that goes into animations is not to be underestimated.
  4. Smart people still go inland. The only people on the coast are those with a death wish, and those who seek to grant them.
  5. Then kindly tell us exactly how the SA is just repeating the mod. With some attention to detail, please.
  6. That gameplay is being added gradually with each updates. I've been playing for some 7 months, and in that time they've added basic iterations of barricading, climate effects, horticulture, trapping and vehicles, on top of an ever growing list of craftable items and improvements across the board, and despite what these nay-sayers would have you think, buggy things are steadily being improved. It's been four or five updates since I've seen a zombie glitch through almost every door.It still happens, but if you're paying attention, you know where and how to avoid it. Same with the rampant killings. If people spent less time complaining about getting shot all the time, and more time on actively avoiding getting shot, there'd be a lot less corpses, and most of them would be idiots killing each other. If people claim the game is nigh unplayable because of the existing problems, then really, they're not trying very hard, and they'll die even quicker when the game is polished, and Chernarus is really trying its hardest to kill you at every turn. Survival is the skill to adapt and overcome hostile environments, whether they are hostile by design or because of certain flaws really doesn't matter. If I can survive despite bugs and trigger-happy people, everyone can. Consider it practice for the real deal.

    I kind of did something...unspeakable

You make a mistake, you get turned into steak.
  8. I'm waiting for improvised shank crafting. No, I'm EXPECTING it now!
  9. Your main flaw is thinking that the SA development is just taking everything from the mod and making it better. This is a game built practically from scratch, and just because it shares a name, a map and some other similarities with the mod, don't make the two all that comparable. That's like saying that there should be nowhere near 5 years between GTA 4 and 5 because really, they're just the same thing, one one is an improved version of the other.

    Obvious threat is obvious (0.53)

These guys look and sound an awful lot like some weirdos I met in Elektro as well...

    Player activated environment sounds

I like it, but we'd have to make sure that other factors can startle them too (zombies, animals, etc), so seeing a flock of birds fly up isn't a 100% accurate indicator that a survivor is nearby.
  12. Really? Almost every time I go there I see people in the big tower, and a lot of freshies on their way from Svetlo.

    The reason behind KoS: ?

Well, despite what you may think, I haven't killed anyone on sight for no reason in months. I just don't believe in punishing a certain playstyle because of selfish reasons like "it ruins my fun". My favorite kind of KOS-haters are the kind that go on complaining that survival isn't challenging enough, and then cry about getting shot out of nowhere. I guess survival was a tad more challenging than they thought! And the simple reality is, barring hackers and other cheaters, people can only kill you if you give them the opportunity. I'd say 90% of KOS cases can be avoided if the victim is a bit careful, rather than running in the middle of the road or the open field.

    Priorities

Is barricading windows even a thing in DayZ? I've certainly never heard of it.

    Creating "Care Packages"

This is the care package I dropped between Solnichniy and the Three Valleys spawn point. All the food and drinks I had left, and essential tools like aviators and a Bible, because y'all motherfuckers need Jesus! Inside the raincoat were some jungle boots.

    Crafting with books

All books are readable, though some have really weird formatting which makes them difficult to read.

    How was your Day(Z)?

No, he took a Mosin shot at me but missed when I was running in a straight line, so I ducked behind a tree. I only got a glimpse of him, as the next shot went right between my eyes.
  18. I always have a full backpack. Gradually I swap out the junk with stuff I can use but don't use like, ever.
  19. So why not just write English? If we add Greek letters, then we'll have to add Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Hindi and just about any other alphabet or symbols used around the globe.

Lets post some screen shots (Standalone)

Met this guy at the Three Valleys. He came running out of the big green house. I waved, he waved. I had a sledgehammer, he had nothing. We looked at eachother for a second, then he bolted. I continued to the boats, and he appeared again, fists raised. I whipped out the sledgehammer and raised it, but he kept coming so I just attacked. I killed him with one blow to the head, but I'm thinking he had run into some trouble before meeting me, since his bomber jack was ruined, and he had but a single rag left on him. Silly bastard, I'd have given you some things if you hadn't first run off only to come back and try to sucker punch me...
  21. Well, that leads me to the next thing: When's the last time you've met a geared player who's been alive for more than a day without some kind of face mask? Almost everyone I see is wearing bandanas, payday masks or balaclavas, usually with sunglasses, and all have headgear. At most you see their eyes. And given people's propensity to change clothes now and then, how are you going to recognize most of them? By voice, is one thing which is unique to each player.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Some time ago I managed to get killed in the woods between Severograd and the NWAF by the only other guy on the server. He'd either been stalking me since Novo, or this was the chance encounter to end all chance encounters.

    Craftable Item : Bindle

Perfect for my 'Hobo With A Shotgun' look!

    The reason behind KoS: ?

You call KOSers stupid, but really, its their victims who are stupid. If they can't even manage to survive in Chernarus Light, with plentiful food and pitiful zombies, how are they going to last when shit really hits the fan? In fact, KOSers provide a valuable service: They teach you not to walk around in the open like nobody's looking at you.
  25. Found three at the same time in one of those in the domed little green barracks by the hangars at the NW end of NWAF, if that's what you meant. There they were, just sitting on the bunks. I set them all up on the runway, made a fire and waited. Some guys showed up with boar steaks, we had a good time. Then they burnt the steaks and that just killed the mood so I told them to shove off.
