James, I've killed about six players in my lifetime of playing DayZ, and fourteen Bandits. Three of my murders were because I shot more accurately than the people shooting at me, and thus I hardly call them murders. So, your bias towards me is false.

If you're in shock, don't disconnect. If you weren't in shock and you logged in unconscious, then you've been flagged by the master server for logging in and out too much in a short period of time. I was flagged when I had my internet being a tempermental bitch, but I don't really give a damn, heh.

You're not demonstrating anything, you're just stating something that has existed in another game. If you want to make a suggestion like this, put more thought into what would work well with ARMA2, with DayZ. Tanks and Smokers and those kind of infected work well in L4D, because they're unique to that game, but in DayZ, those infected would just be stupid. The map is huge, and although I like the idea of different types of zombies, with your post I can't think of anything you're suggesting other than L4D's zombies. Do you see what I mean? Suggest something that would work in the environment, something that preferably hasn't been done by another game already.

DayZ is not meant to be fun. Rocket has stated this is basically the "anti-game". If you want a purely fun game, DayZ is not for you.

If you're going to make a suggestion like this, please at least use your own imagination instead of just ripping off other games.

Well, we *could* have a bunker, but it would teleport us to a place off the map, which would be kinda annoying to set up. However, as I said, I'll develop the bunker anyway and hope that Rocket likes the idea, and that its possible in ARMA3. I'll post updates and screenshots in this thread as I work on it. -
I'm of the opinion that a wipe should happen, but not now. When we hit Beta, a full wipe would be fine by me. But as of now, nah.

People would want to misuse the medic skin? Let them! That's what DayZ is about.

Chinook/Large unarmed heli

+1, you have my support. I like the idea of an unarmed, armored air transport that players can use like that. I also like your reasoning for their locations. -
I personally +1 this, or at least, Medic skins that we can find.
-
Callaghan, you've said yourself that DayZ is "arcadey" compared to "realistic" mods such as ACE, yet now you're saying you support the punishment of PvP? You've lost my respect, buddy. That's hypocrisy right there.

Ability to put primary weapon "ON BACK"
Dreganius (DayZ) replied to Hashisx's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hashisx, report your thread and ask for a clean-up of all the off-topic posts (the ones about ACE) except for the ones that aren't really negative (such as XenoACE's first post)? I'm for the idea of your second primary weapon on your back. It would also solve the issue of backpacks nomming guns up (I've lost two MP5s AND an AKS-74u to my backpack's appetite) +1 -
Blood Regeneration and Food nerfing
Dreganius (DayZ) replied to Zeratul0910's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Regenerating blood at a low rate such as that is more acceptable, and I actually approve of the idea of not being hungry (above orange food levels) to regenerate slowly. But I do not agree with the food nerf. +1 for very slowly regenerating if not hungry. -

Pfc.William, even a mod has laws about intellectual property; DayZ has its laws about copying, and ACE is no different. -
You're right, it has been suggested a lot. Please use the search function and post in an already existing thread instead of starting a new one, thank you.

Blood Regeneration and Food nerfing
Dreganius (DayZ) replied to Zeratul0910's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Er... There are 86,400 seconds in a day. At a rate of 8.33 blood per second, you would be healed from 1 blood to 12,000 blood in 1,440 seconds. Math, not even once. Here's a better calculation. Healing blood at a rate of 0.133 blood per second will give you 11,491 per 24 hours. -
You are, actually, because by offering a PvE server you're removing a core aspect of DayZ, something that makes DayZ what it is, which is the point I was trying to make. You're asking Rocket to change something he has developed as a CORE MECHANIC for DayZ.

This isn't flaming, flaming is "FUCK U UR IDEA IS FUKIN STUPID ACE UR A FAGOT GTFO THE FURUMS U DIKHED" or something similar, which is the kind of behaviour that could get a user banned. This is just a little bit of a heated debate :P -
I go on night servers and I don't have NVGs. I watch the moon cycles and enter night servers when I can vaguely see where I'm going. I find it safer to loot NWAS and Cherno in near pitch-black than I do in day servers. Because there are usually only 10 people online on night servers, and of those I estimate only about 3 or 4 of them have NVGs, the chances of actually running into one of those people who DO have NVGs are pretty slim. When I raided NWAS, I snuck around until I was close enough to open areas that a sniper could have seen me, in which I then ran from location to location until I got in the barracks. No-one was camping the doorway, because there was only 7 people online, and from when I was in Cherno earlier, three of them were looting in there. I got a pair of M4 Carbines, threw one in my ALICE, and then left the airstrip and logged out about half a kilometre south to go to bed. In all my time on night servers, I've never been killed except when I got eaten by zombos very early on in my DayZ experience. So, I disagree with your suggestion. NVGs are rare enough not to be as large a threat as you make out.

Yes, I do know, because I actually read his posts and interviews with him. Perhaps you should do the same. I'm tired of people going on and on and ON about something he has stated he will not change, time and time again.

Ability to put primary weapon "ON BACK"
Dreganius (DayZ) replied to Hashisx's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I admire XenoACE for having the balls to post here about these things, considering this is the home of the mod they're not going to be sharing with. Although I still feel that sharing parts of ACE as free source (under Creative Commons of course) would benefit the ARMA community in general, as well as others, I respect your decision to keep your assets as yours and yours alone. Those of you who bitch about it should seriously just relax, it's not like DayZ is going to suffer due to a lack of these things. Hell, if Rocket and his group really need the help in adding anything, there's plenty of artists and programmers in this community that would be happy to assist with DayZ. -
Izziee, you can use the report function to report Kobra if you have a problem with him. On topic, a Quiver sounds like a brilliant idea to hold bolts in, and would also mean that a crossbow requires one to be as useful as other starter weapons. In fact, I think I would want to use a crossbow over even an AK-74 should quivers or stackable bolts be implemented.

You're assuming this won't be abused. Funnily enough' date=' I AM a Games Designer, as I've been studying for an Advanced Diploma in Professional Games Development for the past TWO YEARS, and writing games design documents for at least four for all my ideas in case any of them come in handy later. Now, let me tell you something. Rocket, the Lead Developer, has [b']clearly stated that he thinks of DayZ as the "anti-game". Rocket OWNS this entire project as his own intellectual property. What he says goes. End of story. Any posts asking for PvP to be removed or modified are essentially going to be either ignored by him and his team, or laughed at and then ignored. DayZ is not supposed to be friendly and fun for beginners. It is not meant to support the casual "carebear" crowd (as they have been called), and removing the PvP element from this game is something he will NEVER do. There is no issue with PvP. It is working PRECISELY how he wants it to. He might tweak a few things such as humanity and such, but he has made it clear to us that this game has PvP to stay, and there will NOT be such a thing as PvE only.

I stopped reading at "The Pvp Problem." There is not a PvP problem. The PvP system is working almost exactly how Rocket wants it to (that is, it's up to the players whether they shoot or not). This is his mod, and his word goes. There is not a PvP problem.
