Fun for me is the same as fun for countless of other players who like the game. If you don't find this game fun, don't try and change it from what it is for us to something like L4D.

I agree with that, but at the same time, shooting a Zed ten times in the chest should *really* kill it. Maybe make the slower zeds have three times as much damage resistance in their chest. -

I like the sound of this, Military vehicles could drop ammo and only ammo, as weapon spawns are already common enough to fill out their rarity levels, in my opinion. -

Since this is your first post, I'll say this nicely. There's a search function at the top of the forum page, just below the logo. Please use that before you make a suggestion, as this has been suggested time and time again in other melee weapon threads. Why? Because Rocket and Co will be more likely to read a thread with pages and pages of discussion (which already exists) than a bunch of threads that have been repeated again and again by people who don't use the search function. Thank you. -

+1 for use of that picture. But I don't support the idea of just reducing ammo spawns, I'd prefer having half-full clips and interchangeable ammunition types.

"The next patch fixes the problem of server strain." So he claims, but we won't know for sure until it comes out :P He's claimed to fix things before but they didn't quite fix. We'll see. -
But then we can't roll around in it which is hilarious. In all seriousness, although I do support this, there are more important things that should be implemented or need fixing or tweaking first.

Orphen, with the threat of zombie hordes and/or bandit attacks, it'd be very hard to have more than two towns liberated at any one time. -

The stashes are still a point for discussion, as is the idea of the transferring maps; Do others agree with the idea? Do you disagree? Why? I'd like to hear other opinions :D -

I also agree that sprinting zombies are a bit annoying, but for balance purposes AND server strain, large hordes of slower zombies would both be too easy to escape from AND put a bigger strain on the server due to the number of AI instances it would need to run for each one of those Zeds. -

I agree with the Smear. DayZ is all about the sandboxiness, heh. Quests don't really help that. -
If someone wants to kill you, they should be allowed to kill you. Why should they be stopped from killing or punished because of it simply because you don't like it? Read my Liberation thread.

...In all my time playing ARMA 2 I never realised that. Holy shit. I also never realised it was removed in the newer versions, did the changelogs state it and I simply missed it? (I read the changelogs every time) But yes, ACE has refused to share their assets with DayZ, so it'd have to be re-coded specifically for DayZ. -

I would also like to see the Ruchnoy Pulemyot Degtyaryova (RPD), it's my favourite LMG in ze vorld, AND it uses the same caliber as the Mosin Nagant, which supports the petition to replace the Lee Enfield with a Mosin, as well as the idea of interchangeable ammunition. +1 -
Addition of Horror Elements

I have a few suggestions for this, but note that not all of them will work well together: - A fear element that causes you to hallucinate when you're truly scared. You see shit from the corner of your eyes that isn't really there, hear whispering, and noises that aren't near you, etc. - Harmless spectres that appear and disappear randomly (NPC AI with a semi-transparent texture map placed in the luminosity attribute) wandering around the woods at night/near where a player was killed (10% chance to spawn a ghost on death maybe?). - Howls and noises in the distance, both ambience and real sounds (player screams, etc) - Zombies make less noise when they're alert to your presence, and don't make any noise at the point where they've just discovered you. As it is, I can tell the moment a zed has discovered me without being able to see them, because of a specific set of noises they only make when they've aggro'd. -
