The problem with your reasoning, danile, is that if there's ALWAYS a horde outside, it'll become impossible to hold the area for more than a few minutes without the players running out of ammo and being forced to leave. The idea is that the hordes would spawn once or twice a day, because we don't want it to be totally impossible to keep the place. -
For fuck's sake, would you people please LEARN TO USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION? This is the umpteenth thread I've seen bitching about Wire Fences so far. If you care so much about it, find the thread that has a developed discussion already going on and post there instead of making a new thread EVERY TIME.

That's a bad idea. Why should people not be allowed to loot their own bodies? It doesn't make sense at all. If you get shot by another player, chances are that most of your gear will be gone before you get back to your corpse anyway.

Adding a name to the weapon would be great, but actually etching the name or killcount onto the weapon would be very difficult as that would mean modifying the texture or overlaying another texture over the gun which would change on every kill, and ultimately would unnecessarily use serverspace. the texture. An "inspect" detail which could simply read out the stats of the weapon to you would be a lot more probable, as far as I can tell. I'm for the idea, though having an option to reset it should also exist. Imagine picking up a .50 cal some idiot has decided to call "Da n00bsl4y3r 3000!!!1!1!!". You wouldn't actually want to use a gun with that name now, would you? :P -

The crossbow I owned (before it was outlawed to own one in Metropolitan areas in Australia and I was forced to give it to my cousins in the countryside) has a scope that came with it. Could we not add a small 6x scope to the DayZ Crossbow to fix the sighting problem?

@bad_mojo, the idea is that if there are no survivors left in the town at any time, it reverts, yes. That's why I basically made out that if the Zombie Hordes or Bandits lay waste to the place and no-one is left there, the area reverts to its infested state. Say, 5 minutes of no-one being there? It needs to be short enough that people can't merely run back to the place, but long enough that Bandits could make sure all the survivors are gone if they want to claim the area for themselves. @RobbL, your idea is a bit flawed, as that would wreck the spawn mechanics everywhere else in the mod, as VonTawast stated. -

I'm against the idea of having negative effects just because you wear a Ghillie. Sitting still or walking around in a Ghillie really shouldn't cause too much of an issue. Wearing a ghillie and running, however, is a different story. Overheating could work, as it'd be a multi-tier effect: First, it would cause the player to get heat exhaustion and breathe heavily, as well as have reduced accuracy, much faster hunger and dehydration rates, and if they continue to push themselves, fall unconscious for a long period of time. If a player starts to get heat exhaustion, the only way to cure it would be to stop moving and wait. I'm for this idea, but slow prone to sneaking/walking shouldn't cause excessive heat, as you're not overexerting yourself too much. In my opinion, only running and sprinting should raise your temperatures while in a Ghillie to extremes. To counteract these negatives, obviously the Ghillie would give the player a resistance to cold weather.

My problem with this idea is that it'd only be useful for PvP, as there's only one thing worse than zombies, and that's flaming zombies. Even then, if Jerry Cans could be used as weapons, players would just avoid them unless they were necessary. I understand that it'd be a cool feature to blow them up with explosives, but I feel that it's a bit too much effort for such a rare situation.

Because it's an element that reflects the player's CHOICES to shoot other people and become Bandits (or not to shoot unless fired at and be Survivors), not their lack of medicine or heat. Making someone ill on respawn isn't the same thing in the slightest, because no player would willingly make themselves sick and weaken themselves, nor would any player want to risk being around them, whereas players willingly become Bandits or Survivors. Apples and oranges, man, apples and oranges. -
Shooting a jerry can would puncture holes in it, not ignite the fuel. It's been proven to be a myth not just by the Mythbusters, but by many many others. Google it. On the other hand, rigging it to blow IS an option.

No, it doesn't. Your logic doesn't make sense, because when you respawn you are respawning as a DIFFERENT PERSON. -
