So it's been a few months since I played. Updated the game, tried to start it but keep getting this error message: Error creating enfusion engine, possible errors GPU not supported GPU drivers not actualized direct x broken other errors Everything is up to date, no other programs failing to start. Only thing in question is I am waiting for my July 29 Windows 10 upgrade. And suggestions where to start to fix this?

I have a portable stove and gas canister, but can't figure out how to cook raw meat. What am I doing wrong?

Navigation is very difficult at first. You will definitely need a pristine compass and a complete ingame map for it's topographical info. Keep a good idea what time it is on the server when you log in. Sun rises in the east and sets in the west, of course, but even at noon the sun will lie significantly south and not directly overhead. When it rains clouds move from west to east, but this can be difficult to see. I still have no idea if your visible breath or smoke from fires also moves from west to east. But by far the biggest mistake I still make while navigating across the map is over or underestimating how far I have traveled. You need to take very frequent bearings with the compass, always take a bearing with some geographical point that you can see in your path (like a hill/mountain) double checked against your map, If you just say "I'm at Electro", dead reckon that NW Air Field lies to the northwest, and figure you'll head in that direction and keep going till you get there you probably miss it.

I jog circle forward (pressing w and either a or d at the same time) and hit zombies, might not look at skilled or graceful as a well time side step but oh well. I would add one thing. Jog a wider circle with multiple zombies, they will hit each other and thin the herd

I'm still a relatively new player, and I'm still not sure hot loot works. Who determines what spawns? The program or the people running the server? Before the last update couldn't find a compass to save my life, now I'm tripping over them everywhere. I'm finding FNX and 1911 pretty often, lots of FNX mags, but none for the 1911. But I haven't found .45 ammo in a very long time. I'm finding tons of 9mm, but I haven't found a single weapon that uses 9mm. Food seemed scarce for a day or two, but it's plentiful again, especially fresh fruit. And for the first time yesterday I found an AKM, POS1 scope, and twp drum mags all in the same building... The first time I've seen this gun. So when a server advertises "high loot" can they really change how often higher loot spawns?

I have been keeping to the south west corner of the map kind of making a loop between the military base outside of Pavlovo, through Pavlovo, through Zelenogorsk and the military barracks there, ending at the building atop Green Mountain, and then reversing back the way I came. I used to find fairly good loot around here. But since the last stable update I'm not finding shit, except for track suits (they are everywhere). Is it like this at all the bases now? Are they trying to drive us to the NW airfield?

I have a FNX45 but no magazines. I have two pristine 1911 magazines which is why I'm looking to score a 1911. Yes I have learned the hard way to never keep anything I don't want ruined in my jacket or pants. It seems like whenever a zombie runs within 20m of me my jacket get ruined. And why exactly can't we repair a tactical vest? But again, has overall loot changed? And about loot respawn. Does only the items taken respwan, or does every item on the server change at respawn?

I'm not looking to score military loot. I would like to find a semi-auto pistol to replace a ruined 1911 (frikkin zombies) and a tactical vest (again zombies) but mainly I like the area due to fact that most of the players I run into are friendly and don't try and shoot me in the face on site. Sorry If I refuse to play YOUR game...

how do you get you FPS to display on the screen?

What is the deal with Stary Sober? I was mobbed by zombies there after the last update. I had always assumed that zombies would evenly spawn in towns, yet you can go into Novo and see maybe one or two, yet it Stary SoberI get mobbed by 7. Are there zombie hotspots?

Is there a way to prevent or lessen the likelihood that items will disappear from inventory? I was exploring the ability to cook meat yesterday, but my inventory was full. So some items I had to hold in hands. But I had to set my ammo box down to create a fire kit. Put the ammo box back in inventory, cooked the steaks, went along my merry way. But after a server reset I noticed the ammo box (and almost all my ammo) was gone. So is the moral of the story never set anything down you aren't willing to lose, or is it totally random?

Is there any way to see how soon a server reset is coming? I was near a tree that I had just chopped down for the fire...

Why can't we spawn with something useful like a compass instead of the flashlight? I have never used the flashlight, and I am still wandering the map looking for a god damn compass. Questions: Do servers sometimes misrepresent the time? Twice now morning servers have turned out to be evening servers. Does campfire smoke and our characters breath follow wind patterns (blowing from west to east)? Finally found my way back to Electro and then spent hours server hopping outside the fire station, found all sorts of loot but still no compass. Is there a way to tell which NON hardcore servers are going to spawn you as a bambie ignoring your saved character? Is it the fragnet servers I should avoid?

So I logged into what I thought was a 7am server, started heading south east to Electro, hoping to find a god damn compass (you'll see why I desperately need one in a moment). I'm running and come across what I thought was a badly rendered seam. Ahead is grasslands and I figure I'm almost there and can risk it. Still running south east, nothing but grasslands, not a tree or bush in sight. OK I have been running for quite sometime now and haven't seen a damn thing. Shit, is the sun lower on the horizon? Shit, did I log into an evening server by mistake. The damn stars are coming out. OK about face 180 degrees and we're off and running again. Now I'm heading south east... server please don't reset. And then the server resets and I'm still in the middle of nowhere. Now I had planned at some point to make a run towards the edge of the map to see if it just kept going or if there was an invisbale wall. Answer: it just keeps going, so learn from my mistake fellow noobs. Question: What happens when I log back in? Will I still be in no man's land? Back at the edge of the map where I exited? Will I lose my gear and be spawned as a bambie? Question 2: What is that number in the upper right hand corner? Sometimes it's 100, sometimes it's 200?

I sometimes spawn as a bambie, but if you keep switching servers you will eventually spawn with your missing loot.

I have been sporting the magnum for a bit now, but found a 1911 with two magazines. I like the magnum for zombies/the occasional lone wolf, but I'm wondering if the 1911 might be better in a firefight with multiple targets. I lost the quickloader for the magnum. Is the 1911 more prone to break down? Should I stick with the magnum and look for some quickloaders? Which does more damage, and is there a significant difference in the damage between the two?

Is it worth picking up, and if so, how do you use it?

This is a new term to me. What steps are taken to prevent it? I was chasing a guy who took a shot at me. Rushed the room he had retreated to. As I entered the room he went from prone to standing and did not move. Killed him of course. Was this combat logging? At what point does retreating from combat to a safe place and logging out not become "combat logging"?

I equipped it for all of ten seconds, but it stuck up quite high making my position obvious, especially behind walls. It would be nice as a melee weapon, so you could fight zombies without having to switch from mosin to fire axe.

Finally found a compass, in pristine condition. And it's wonderful... everything I imagined it would be. So frikkin nice to take a bearing, travel, then end up exactly where I wanted to go. It's so nice to use the compass and the ingame map to triangulate my position, know exactly where I am, and how many meters to target I am. I just wish the compass was easier to read... I know... bitch bitch bitch... some people are never happy.

What is the upper limit of acceptable ping to play?

Russians, Germans, French, English, Swedish, just about anyone but the people that live near me. I have been going for the lowest ping servers and if I hear one more southern guy say "ya'll" I'm gonna frikkin scream. The time difference isn't an issue because I can play just about anytime I want and can easily play during the European primetime.

Below I will repost my specs. Before I bought the game I came here to asked if my craptop could play the game and the response was NO. A friend suggested I goto game-debate and check with that site. Game-debate said my craptop would just barely run the game. I have found both to be very wrong. I really wanted to play this game so I risked the $30. Initially yes, the game barely chugged along with everything either disabled or set to very low. But once I set my hardware to "performance" rather than "quality" the game runs great. I have things like shadows, clouds, and textures set to normal with zero frame drop. And while I'm running in 4:3 800x600 and some of the dynamic effects don't render (I can see the raindrops splat on the ground but not falling from the sky) the game performance is more than acceptable till I can get a new computer. On side note I also use my HDMI out to a 52 inch flatscreen TV and not use the laptop screen. So it's only $30... so go for it you might be surprised. M15X Alienware laptop Intel i7 CPU Q720 @1,6 ghz 4 GB Ram Nvidia GeForce GTX260M SSD yes? (not sure) Windows 7 sp1 64bit

My main concern is wanting to play on European servers, but I am in the central US (texass). I think it might be fun to play with people from other countries for whom english is not their native language, you know, for immersion and RP. Not terribly interested in PvP (though I'm sure it will happen) or squad play.

So as a general rule 10 minutes? How long is the log out timer?
