Why? Are you taking about 2nd (3rd, 4th) shots due to recoil? I would think a revolver would be the most accurate, at least for the first shot.

I was wondering about bullet drop in the game. Going to have to research that some time soon. I have found that most of my questions have no answers online, the wiki is almost useless. So far this forum rocks.

Can you re-use stones after using them in a campfire?

is the dayzdm map acurate with dayz standalone, or is it more for the mod. I'm trying to find the military base south of the NW airfield, but what I see on the map does not match what I am seeing in the game.

OK a couple of times I have accidentally spawned into a hardcore server. Besides spawning with a crowbar and a zombie in your face, what are the differences, and do you prefer hardcore or regular? Is hardcore more PvP than normal servers?

Does your hardcore character carry over to other hardcore servers, or is it a bambie spawn every time?

I have been having issues to with character save. A couple of times I have started the game only to find my character gone. I close the game and restart, still gone. Spawn as a bambie, quit, restart game, character still gone, Had just about given up and resigned myself to spawning as a bambie, character still missing from start screen. Spawn and what do you know, my geared character has suddebly reappeared. Haven't figured this out yet.

so the map is basically 15km by 15km, and running you can cross it in 30 minutes?

I think two things are throwing me off. Does time move faster than real life? 1 hour real life equals how long in game? Two I think I'm traveling farther than thought I was. I was at the NW airfield so I decided to head east to the coast. It seems like in very little time I was at Berezino, maybe 15 minutes. Is 1 mile in game realticely to scale with real life?

at least you haven't been held up. handcuffed, had your blood stolen, then been left to die... yet LOL

That is the map I have been using. I have been circling the NW airfield, but still I'm lost. desperately need a compass so I can get my exact bearings.

it is the player interaction/roleplaying that makes this game thrive. I get it, it's not your thing, so maybe this game isn't for you. I too am playing lonewolf right now, trying to learn the game, the map. So yeah I am avoiding other player like the plague. But once I feel a bit more comfortable I will up the risk and seek out player, and also up the fun. Some days you will be the hero, some days you will be the dick, some the victim, some the victimizer.

I'm finding navigation difficult. Even with maps (is there a way to combine them to save space?). I've been using the sun, but would really love a compass and watch. Where is the best place to find a compass?

I need a pot? Damn... is all this worth the space? I need a bigger backpack.

Did a search but didn't get a result. Does loot respawn, and if so how often? Or do you have to swap servers?

I had been with this character for awile, was faily geared up, when while searching a barn I walked off the bottom staors while only halfway up. I had been in the bright green energized, hydrated, and healthy state for several hours, yet instant death. Is this normal for the game to kill you from a 1m fall? Live and frikkin learn.

You make a good point. I had fallen from this height before with no damage, hence I wasn't being very careful not to fall. I think having all the gear was the difference. You can actually trip over curbs, or was thar sarcasm? :)

I am definitely going to try it now, 3rd person seems like a cheat, though I must admit I switch to it to kill zombies with a melee.

I have never found a watch, and only twice come across a compass. So far my stradetgy is to spawn, find Electo for a quick loot of the firestation for an axe the a quick run to the supermarket, then make my way NW to the center of the map, looting the smaller towns. I don't find allot of great loot this way, but I do get to explore both the map and game mechanics without worrying about other players (I have only seen one other player, we scared eachother and both ran in opposite directions). I'm mainly exploring the viability of living off the land with as little forays into towns as possible till I feel a bit better with my skills to risk heading to the more popular places on the map.

It was noon on the server and I was using the sun to navigate/dead reckon my way south. I came over a hill and spotted a tall smokestack to my southeast but the bulk of the city to the south. I approached the smokestack and there is a fire station right next to it. Where is this? Electro?
