Yeah, you're not going to find anything that doesn't restart every 2 or 4 hours at least. It has to be done to keep servers running well. That's no biggie for me. I just want to know if I will be able to find a good server after I buy the standalone, because I'm not doing it 'till I know for sure! But I also don't want to play on a whitelisted server where people have to meet requirements to play and must participate in a group... I want to find a public server. Also, please don't let this thread turn into an ad for your own servers... just let me know if they exist.

I have run into many ass-hats and I have just been playing the game for the past few weeks. I am already immensely irritated at the amount of people that do KoS. It's disgusting because though this is a game, it really does paint a picture of what people would do in a real situation like this. In fact, in real life, I fear it might be even worse. My policy: I use direct communication and clearly say "peaceful! Don't shoot! Peaceful!" when I see a player. If they are not AFK and I can tell they can hear me, I fire warning shots and defend myself. If they take out their gun / shoot, I obviously shoot them. If they ignore me and mind their own business, I ignore them, of course. I never KoS. I have already had a few times where somebody made out to be peaceful just to shoot me in the back minutes later. These people are either noobs with guns or just jerks looking for joy from other's pain.

Well, I have not been playing long. But thus far (3 weeks) I have had 2 or 3 hacker encounters. One kicked about 20 people off of the server at once. All of those encounters, however, were on a specific server (though it did claim to have "extra anti-hack"...). I have played on two servers since then for several hours and have not had an issue yet. The server I currently play on does a really good job of banning those that cheat and pose a hacking threat.

What issue? The one I am having? I installed DayZ using DayZ Commander, but I installed Arma 2 and OA through Steam. Reading the rest of this thread now. Edit: Still don't see anyone having the same issue as me.

I did read. I still don't know how to fix my issue, since it seems a bit different from others. Thanks for moving my thread, though. Sorry about that.

This has been an issue for a lot of people recently, from what I have read. What I did (from this post): Navigate to program files > common files > battleye and use File Assassin by MalwareBytes to delete the two files. One will require a restart. Once you restart, run Arma 2 and OA from Steam and they should update. Fixed. (At least for me and many others.)

Hello. I have seen many, many topics regarding "wrong cd keys" and so forth, but everyone who has this issue cannot play on servers. My issue is a bit different. I can play on servers. I have been playing the game for a while. But every time I start playing, it says I have the wrong CD key. Should I worry about this? I have had issues with DayZ in the past and have ran Steam as admin, Arma 2 / OA as admin, re-installed BattlEye, etc., etc., and the issue still is there. Any suggestions? Is this a big deal? (I run DayZ using DayZ commander.) Edit: After reading more posts, it seems that this might be a known issue and I should indeed ignore it? Also, if I in fact should ignore this problem, could I still change my profile name (I have been wanting to just because)? Because I know that the Hive ties your player to your CD key. And obviously if my CD key is apparently "wrong" that might cause issues? Again, I just need some clarification. Thanks!

(FR 34) Great server! Just started playing the other day and I love it. So hard to find a server that has the normal day/night cycle and a good difficulty, etc.. Very nice. Anyway, loving the server. Thanks!
