Still getting massive amounts of lag. Can't pick things up off the ground, and zombies run off the other direction when they're agro. Then they come back about 15 minutes later and I'm insta-killed. Game is currently unplayable for me. Ran the exe, installed it, yet when I enter OA the version is still 1.60.8756 something. Thanks, still, I'll just stick with what I have atm and wait for it to magically update by itself :D Did you bother actually reading the README.TXT? Or are you too pro for that? -

Posted this in the wrong forum earlier. . . OK, so right now base building doesn't work. It's something that a lot of people want, but it's also something that seems to get abused all to hell (see: razor wire in every apartment building). How about implementing the "HQ commander" building mode from ARMA? Lets say you have to find a backhoe. It's really slow and vulnerable so it would be an adventure just getting it to your construction site. Once you get your backhoe to where you're going to build your base, you have to deploy it's little hydraulic legs. At that point it's your stationary "HQ" like in ARMA. When you go into build mode, that would be how you can use your razor wire, tank traps, sandbags, and other stuff. Instead of paying the money for stuff like in ARMA, you pay with materials gathered from the map. You and your buddies go collect stuff and fill it up to build. This would allow the teamwork-collection aspect as well as precise, planned base construction that's a lot more complex than we can currently construct. Maybe even put in some very basic buildings made from scrap metal and some other stuff. This would allow you to really "own" a chunk of the server I think. There's a lot of risk, but the prize is great. If you're not familiar with the HQ construction mechanic, you basically turn into a 3rd person flying camera 20 ft off the ground and can place things within ~50m however you like.

It's not a content /gameplay suggestion. It's not a bug report or a hacking/exploit report. It's a useless thread. All feedback has use. Just because you don't know what you're talking about doesn't make it true. Now YOUR post, on the other hand, adds nothing to the conversation and is indeed what you claim the OP's post to be. -

Should also add that you change your text and voice chat channel with the , and . keys. For DayZ, make sure you're set to direct. Your voice will travel 40m from your position to anyone around with 3d positional audio as well. I.E., if you hear the guy's voice behind you, he really is behind you. -

Q is the "engine on" key by default. It's also the cyclic advance control in a Huey.

I've seen people spawn in as seagulls due to some unknown glitch. It's entirely plausible that you really were being followed by a seagull. In regular ARMA, when you die you can come in as a seagull to fly around and watch the battle unfold.
