Re-Patch

I taught my younger sister to play the game in the last 6-7 days, she is having no problems with it at all... Stop whinning you troll, why would de developers refund you if you are too stupid/stubborn to learn the game? You were aware that it is an Alpha weren't you? Plus I remember that box with a message when you start the game... If you don't seem to learn anything while watching then you should maybe try to learn ingame? Use forums? Ask people to help you ingame? etc. It is not too easy in the beginning, I agree with that, but if that bothers you so much and you really don't like the game (it seems so), please quit and stop whining.

Yap there is, there are always more experienced people (not only in game(s), everywhere), and the best you can do is profit as much as possible and get better yourself ;) Plus DayZ has looots of factors like (looking at the wrong side in the wrong to seconds, desync etc. etc.) ... And yeah, I second that, can't count how many times I've been killed by guy with a weapon much worse than my automatic rifle at that time.

No Chuck isn't a retard, I think he got it pretty well actually. @BlackLabel "lol" indeed, sorry, no disrespect, but learn how to play PvP in the game then... I knocked out players with automatic guns with almost every pistol/melee weapon in the game (and yeah, you get better at it if you try over and over again, spend a few evenings/weeks on a PvP only server in Elektro and you will see). And I think it was mentioned before --> situational awareness, my friend :) it really works...

That's one of the awesome things about this game, everyone can play it the way they like. If I want PvP now, I just spend an evening in Elektro/Cherno on a PvP only server with 40-50 people, this is what gives me the most out of the game at the moment. Don't let people tell you how to play, play however you like it and keep doing that ;) cheers

Mate I'm close to 3000 hours in DayZ... not proud of it, but just saying. I've walked the chopper routes more often that some people have hours played on the game, so please :) I was very busy lately and I haven't played too often since .53/54 though and thus haven't checked more than 2-3 choppers. I was talking about every patch before .53 (I wasn't sure if they changed anything) but apparently they did, didn't know that sorry.

^This^ I don't understand it either. Lazyness I guess, they just want PvP and don't want to loot, only explanation I can come up with. If they only knew what they are missing. There is really no need for it, once you know the game good enough you can get your hands on any item you want within one or two hours I'd say, even when you have to KOS for it (there are more than enough PvP only servers with a lot of people on them) and that's still 100x better than hacking, gear buying, duping and all that bullshit. cheers

You would definitely find it, it's not hard unfortunately. But we shouldn't mention it any further here, these aren't exactly places that promote legit gameplay etc. ;) and the less people ever know about it the better. This trading post thing is a pretty sweet idea though (there are even websites for that I think), gives you a chance to meet cool people as well.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Moselina for life :) And yes, all you need is any melee weapon or fist knuckles and knowledge of the game (and luck sometimes) ;)

The M4 is almost impossible to find if you play 100% legit (not hopping, no hacks etc.). If you want an M4, choose a high pop PvP server (50/50 if possible, 40/40 works as well), go to Elektro and learn how to win against heavily armed players by being smarter (needs luck as well of course), and it won't take you longer than 1-2 hours to walk out of the city with an M4 and heavy gear (watch not to be too happy if you succeed the first time, you will get shot on your way out I guarantee it) :P cheers, have fun

Dude that's nice of you I guess, but 9 out of 10 people with gear like that just bought it, they don't care (well they will rage but apart from that, guess not). Check the protector cases and the ammo, if they are all worn/pristine (or same status in general) and the M4 parts all are worn/pristine (mostly with ACOG scope) as well, it's 99% a bought set. Don't feel bad & enjoy the stuff (except when you got something like unlimited ammo or something in the boxes, then throw it away please for everyone's sake):

Hallo Everyone I have a small question, I'm pretty sure I've seen some of my favourite servers change between privat and public hive. I am thinking about getting a server on my own, not sure yet, but that would be a nice feature. Fragnet for example is not offering that, you have to choose between private and public hosting. Those anyone know which hoster has something like that available? Thanks & cheers

Hallo Again Small update, I am now an official server owner, juhuu :D :D I rented the one we were talking about (Fragnet Master). Very happy with it so far, everything was working right away and the TS I got with it works good as well, thanks again for your help Mr. Valdenburg. You can't lock it with a password if you're on public hive, but that's a good thing probably as this would get heavily abused. Now I only need to find out how to set the restart to two or three (gonna go for three I think) hours with restart warning messages, but I will figure that out. One small question though: In order to edit the server you need to stop it. Yesterday I wanted to set it up (messages when you log in/starting time/servername etc. etc.) and I needed to restart/stop it a few times for that. As there were already several people playing on the server I would've loved to write a global message (I've seen this before on other servers), something like: I'm very sorry I need to shutdown the server for 10-30 minutes (we just bought it and need to set it up). Kinda felt bad kicking everyone like 3-4 times by stopping it, it makes it look like I would abuse the restart function, but all I wanted is to set it up for the fist time. So could someone tell me how to write a global message that everyone playing on the server can see? Or voice would work as well of course, I'd prefer messages though (as I hate it when you can hear the admins speak with their friends etc.). Because when I look at their offerings (Fragnet) it looks exactly the same like Vilayer (it looks like when you're on public hive the server can't be locked and if you're on private you can lock it but you can't switch to public. Hahaha right? 27" 2560x1440 here as well (very happy with it btw., it does look very good), but I still almost get stuck to the monitor every time i snipe, I've been as close as 25cm or something trying to see people above 800m xD it must look ridiculous :P

Hallo Guys I've got a few questions about "persistence: on" servers, maybe somebody can help me. If I want to drop some stuff on a random location of the map (nature, not in a house), in order to make a little stash for my friends, how does that work? 1) If I drop items on the floor (saw, helmets, shoes, ammunition for example) that are not in a peace of clothing or in a backback, will they stay there? 2) If I drop a backback or a peace of clothing on the floor (with or without items in it), will it stay there? 3) If I drop a weapon (with or without mags) on the floor, will it stay there? 4) Or do I need a tent to do anything of the above? 5) If I leave, let's say, two-three weapons on this server (but I'm bringing them from another one) I will not break/heavily confuse the persitence mechanic of that server or anything like that right? Because I don't want to use it like that. 6) Can hackers see my stuff on their esp? I heard that on each Wednesday the persistence gets reset, does that mean everything that I put on the floor before will vanish? And the same for the tent? How are people doing this/preventing this with tents? Just wondering, because I saw the tent had a lot of space, too much that any person could temporarily hold it on the char until maintenance is over (especially since you got no backpack when you got the tent on your back??). Hi Krazy Thanks a lot for your detailed answer. I was asking about single items specifically because for testing reasons I dropped 1x backback (with items), 1x AKM, 1x SKS and 1x helmet, 1x shoes and some ammo and tons of food on the floor. The AKM and all the single items on the floor were gone (plus several mags from backpack) (the server was off for about 3 hours though yesterday, not sure if crashed), I highly doubt it has been found (it was hidden pretty well, still possible though I guess). This is why I asked about the hacker's esp as well, then it would be a huge waste to invest time in that, since there are a lot of hackers now and chances that they would find it would be almost 100% I guess. The idea behind the whole thing was "helping" my friends. I've got quite some time I can spend on DayZ at the moment (several hours every evening), many of my friends don't have that time right now, so I was thinking of setting up a little mini stash (quite a funny occupation when I'm playing alone) with the most necessary things (backpack, food, rags, med supps, clothing and maybe weapon) for one or two friends somewhere. But it looks like I should wait with things like that, I don't want to have to think about it every Thursday, too lazy :) That would explain why all my single items have vanished, not the AKM mags though :/ Thanks & Cheers, Re-Patch

If you are on the first platform, look at the ladder and scroll your mousewheel, you have the options "climb ladder up", "climb ladder down". cheers, don't snipe new spawns, or I'll get you of that tower :P

Yeah I know what you mean, I did practice with the mosin for more than 400 hours now so, got a few 998/1000m hits already. I knew that the bullet does go farther than the player rendering does (I'm not sure how far exactly either though, sorry), but I haven't tried it yet. I do believe you with the memory and sorry for calling it a lie, I was just pretty sure you couldn't extend the range any farther. I don't have such a memory but I think it would be possible to hit at 1100m (at least when my friend would stand stand still on top of Novo tower), otherwhise I'm not sure yet :) but I will try it. I can one-hit 8-9/10 zombies with the hoe easily, bit harder for players, but it works almost just as good. And as already said, a hit to the head will kill you or drop you unconcious at least, so basically what the other guy said (not meant in a bad way, there are always better players) But yeah, I think all these values are going to be adjusted multiple times, don't think any of those damage/protection stats are definitely already. cheers, Re-Patch
