Have you tried running STEAM as administrator and running BOTH ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA until the main menu? Have you tried running STEAM as administrator and running BOTH ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA until the main menu? Also. What .PBO does it say it's missing? -

With a bit of googling it looks like the admin fucked up something on the server you normally play on. Is there actually people on it? -
Basically put, DayZ isn't optimised at all for Arma 2. Which is why if you play for a large amount of time, you will get FPS drops because of memory leaks and the same goes to why servers have to be restarted ever 3 - 4 hours. If I were you I'd just cope with it until standalone came out, or maybe make a RAMdisk and put all of the Arma 2 / Arma 2 OA / DayZ files on it. Read / watch http://www.gamersplatoon.com/forums/showthread.php?6262-How-To-Increase-FPS-In-DayZ-Using-RamDisk!]this]. Only thing is that if you're using DayZCommander, you just change your DayZ directory path in the " Settings " tab I think.

Nah not really. DayZCommander is pretty sound program. You have the entire list of mods ready for you to install. You just click " Install. " Here's a guide I've been posting to noobies :) From what I know, the difference from STEAM version and disc version is that you skip step 7. -

Have you tried manually updating BattlEye? To do this: 1. Go to BattlEye 2. Open up your download directory where you saved the .dll file 3. Copy the .dll 4. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye and overwrite the one that is in there. 5. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye and overwrite the one that's in there too. 6. Load into game, but wait at the lobby until you see " BattlEye Client: Server Computed GUID: * Insert lots of numbers and letters here * " In the bottom left hand corner 7. Press Ok and just wait. If it's still not working. 1. Delete the BEClient.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye 2. Try to load ingame ( You'll get a error saying something about BattlEye not starting ) Click OK and exit the game. 3. Go to BattlEye 2. Open up your download directory where you saved the .dll file 3. Copy the .dll 4. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye. 5. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye. 6. Load into game, but wait at the lobby until you see " BattlEye Client: Server Computed GUID: * Insert lots of numbers and letters here * " In the bottom left hand corner 7. Press Ok and just wait. -

ArmA 2 Operation Arrow head/DayZ Serial Number
piemanpm replied to lucas2094's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Did you run OA on it's own before trying to load in game? Have you tried a reinstall of OA? Here's how you should installing it: 1. Download and install Arma2 and Arma2: Operation Arrowhead. 2. Run Arma2 until you load into the main menu, then exit game. 3. Run Arma2: Operation Arrowhead until you load into the main menu, then exit game. 4. Download DayZCommander and install it. 5. Run DayZCommander. 6. In the top right hand corner of DayZCommander, under the Minimise, Maximise and Close sign. There are 4 Tabs. Click the " Settings " Tab. 7. Tick the boxes that say " Launch using Steam " and " Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam works " It should look something like this. ( Ignore the Additional Launch Parameters that I have ) Click Done. If your Game Directories are blank. Try restarting your computer. 8. Click the " Install / Update " Tab. 9. Under where it says " ARMA 2: XxXxX " there should be a drop down box below that, make sure the one that says ( Latest ) by the side is selected and press the " Install " button. You will have to wait a while for it to download, and when it does, you get a installation box come up. Install as you would normally a patch. 10. Where it says " DAYZ: XxXxX " there should be a drop down box below that, make sure the one that says ( Latest ) by the side is selected and press the " Install " button. Once it's downloaded you will have a wait till it says " DAYZ: 1.7.4.4 (Up to date) " before doing anything else. It should look like this, but with 1.7.4.4. Click Done. 11. Click the " Servers " tab on the left hand side and look for a server you fancy playing on and double click one it. 12. You should load into Player Screen where it says all of the names of the people in the server. Wait until you see " BattlEye Client: Server computing GUID: * insert lots of numbers and letters here * in the bottom left before pressing the OK button, as you will get kicked because of BattlEye not loading up properly. 13. After waiting through a loading bar and " Loading " in the middle of the screen, you will come across a gender selection screen. Click a gender. And wait. 14. You will load in game, take note of what it says in the bottom right of your screen, as that is your location and you can find out where to go and buildings to enter by looking at This Map 15. When you've loaded in, you want to press the " ESC " key, go to Options -> Video Options and you want the " 3D resolution " to be the same as your " Interface Resolution " Click done and go back into game. -
A couple of Questions, for those in the know
piemanpm replied to zetetick's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
@Connor You have to press Scroll Lock key. Some servers have it disabled though. -
^ Never works. There are countless duplicate threads on these forums. Rofl. What you want to do is go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead and you want to delete the folder named @Dayz and the DayZ.rar file. Then you want to go into DayZCommander and reinstall 1.7.4.4. And try and load into game, If it's still not working, delete the @DayZ folder and the .rar file again, and download the latest from here then extract everything to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead. Also, did you run both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 : OA before you tried to play DayZ?

ArmA II: OA key was stolen and I'm now unable to change it.
piemanpm replied to PrimePhoenix's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Uninstall OA and reinstall it with your new key? After doing scans with all your virus / malware / spyware scanners to delete the thing that stole your key in the first place of course. -
Right. It sounds like the initial problem you had would be ArmA2 not launching in CO mode, which is STEAMs fault because they've removed it for some strange reason. And the second problems sound like they are coming from you not launching the games in the first place, it creates a default profile and installs all the necessary stuff. What I would suggest is trying this: 1. 9. Under where it says " ARMA 2: 100697 " there should be a drop down box below that, make sure the one that says ( Latest ) by the side is selected and press the " Install " button. Bravo. You should be loaded back into DayZ and ready to go. If you want to just load into DayZ, you can go to Settings -> Launch DayZ Now.

Have you tried deleting the .zip files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead and trying to reinstall them? -
Did you delete the old DayZ files and install it again through DayZ Commander?
-
Really? What version of windows are you using?
-
Right click the .msi file and click " Run as Administrator " Windows likes to be awkward ;)
-
Haha. It appears so. Are you running the installer as admin by any chance?
-
Right. Lets try a complete fresh install. So what what you want to do is uninstall ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 :OA. Then delete all the ARMA 2 files in Steam\steamapps\common and the ArmA 2 files in My Docs. Then you want to: 1. 6.
