Some quick googling tells me it's a bug. Try this: ( Skip Step 1,2 + 3 and delete the @dayZ folder in your ARMA 2:OA directory ) 1. Download and install Arma2 and Arma2: Operation Arrowhead. 2. Run Arma2 until you load into the main menu, then exit game. 3. Run Arma2: Operation Arrowhead until you load into the main menu, then exit game. 4. Download DayZCommander and install it. 5. Run DayZCommander. 6. In the top right hand corner of DayZCommander, under the Minimise, Maximise and Close sign. There are 4 Tabs. Click the " Settings " Tab. 7. Tick the boxes that say " Launch using Steam " and " Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam works " It should look something like this. ( Ignore the Additional Launch Parameters that I have ) Click Done. If your Game Directories are blank. Try restarting your computer. 8. Click the " Install / Update " Tab. 9. Under where it says " ARMA 2: XxXxX " there should be a drop down box below that, make sure the one that says ( Latest ) by the side is selected and press the " Install " button. You will have to wait a while for it to download, and when it does, you get a installation box come up. Install as you would normally a patch. 10. Where it says " DAYZ: XxXxX " there should be a drop down box below that, make sure the one that says ( Latest ) by the side is selected and press the " Install " button. Once it's downloaded you will have a wait till it says " DAYZ: 1.7.4.4 (Up to date) " before doing anything else. It should look like this, but with 1.7.4.4. Click Done. 11. Click the " Servers " tab on the left hand side and look for a server you fancy playing on and double click one it. 12. You should load into Player Screen where it says all of the names of the people in the server. Wait until you see " BattlEye Client: Server computing GUID: * insert lots of numbers and letters here * in the bottom left before pressing the OK button, as you will get kicked because of BattlEye not loading up properly. 13. After waiting through a loading bar and " Loading " in the middle of the screen, you will come across a gender selection screen. Click a gender. And wait. 14. You will load in game, take note of what it says in the bottom right of your screen, as that is your location and you can find out where to go and buildings to enter by looking at This Map 15. When you've loaded in, you want to press the " ESC " key, go to Options -> Video Options and you want the " 3D resolution " to be the same as your " Interface Resolution " Click done and go back into game. Bravo. You should be loaded into DayZ and you're ready to go. I think it's due to you not having installed the BETA patch and it's causing problems. I personally recommend BMRF and have never had a problem with them and they deal with hackers very swiftly and efficiently.

DayZCommander can't find Arma 2 after Beta-Update...
piemanpm replied to Suicicoo's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Restart your computer. -
Have you tried manually updating BattlEye? It could be that your version is out of date. To do this: 1. Go to BattlEye 2. Open up your download directory whrere you saved the .dll file 3. Copy the .dll 4. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye and overwrite the one that is in there. 5. Paste the .dll file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye and overwrite the one that's in there too. 6. Load into game, but wait at the lobby until you see " BattlEye Client: Server Computed GUID: * Insert lots of numbers and letters here * " In the bottom left hand corner 7. Press Ok and wait.

Yes it does. I'm using Windows 8 now.

HELP! Bizarre connection problems!
piemanpm replied to MRSERIOUS's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Right. Tell him to uninstall ARMA 2 completely. Whats happened is when you installed it on his computer on your account your serial will have been put in the registry. So when he's bought the game and gone to try and load in, it's your serial that is still in use and you can't connect to servers using the same serial. So if you uninstall everything ARMA 2 and reinstall it, it should put his serial number into his registry. There's a way you can edit it using the registry editor, but I'm not 100% sure on how to do it and I think it's quite complicated. So doing it this was is much easier. -

Go into the " Settings " tab in DayZCommander and try putting " -cpucount=8 -maxMem=8192 " without the quotation marks in the " Additional Launch Perimeters " box
-
Right. What program are you using to launch DayZ?
-
Are you sure you're running the latest BETA?
-
How are you trying to join the game? EG Through STEAM, Through DayZCommander or playwithsix
-
ARMA is a very arsey game and it's not very well optimised, hence the countless " OMGZ my fps is crap " posts. 1 setting can put you back, or forward 20 FPS. It also depends on the server you're playing on and if it's been restarted recently. I always link people to these few: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-2565.html http://i.imgur.com/1AQoW.jpg

Does it do this with every game you own? What's your system specs? It sounds like a CPU overload / RAM problem.

How do you get Dayz to work these days?
piemanpm replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Just install DayZCommander. It's alot less hassle, tells you when there is a update for Dayz / Arma and generally cuts out all the ball ache with updating it. If it's space you're concerned about aswell, it's only 4mb. It installs the latest ARMA 2 patch and replaces the normal .exe with the BETA exe ( if you tick the box in settings ) It installs the latest DayZ files without having to download them, extract them and delete the old ones, and you can join servers through it. Otherwise it means editing ARMA 2's CMD files and unnecessary, un-needed fucking around. Specially when the Standalone is due out Über soon. -

Hi guys. I am wondering if there is a better way I can combat hackers on my server. It seems ripe with the little bastards and I seem to have quite a lot using my server. I've been running this server for a number of months now and I thought hackers would eventually fuck off. But they haven't I implimented the list in this forum post But they seem to be using god mode and thunderdome. and it's ruining the game play for my players. I'm with Vilayer and it's a gameserver.

You ask Vilayer. I'm with Vilayer at the moment and they offer a great service. Just Open a ticket with them.
