Ill just leave this here. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177951-all-dayz-standalone-changelogs/

I'm not sure about clothing, but I do like the idea of fixing up backpacks. I think it should only improve condition up to Damaged though, much like sharpening blades with a stone. it would probably make sense for it to be used on lower caliber weapons such as the sporter. I'm not very experienced in firearms, let alone improvised attachments, but if that is something feasible in actuality, I'm all for it.

The zombies in a zombie game ruined your experience? Perhaps you are here for the wrong reasons. I for one am glad the zombies are a threat. They are a bit glitchy, but you fail to mention all of those (hitboxes, still some nav issues, etc) anyways. Why don't you try killing them before bandaging, or locking them into a room?

I'm sure it was 100% intended not to be green or camo. I think it is good they are a light color. For an item so powerful (dat storage tho) and rare, it's rather fair that they can be spotted easily. Hiding it will take forethought and knowledge, rather than just plopping it in any cluster of trees or bushes. This doesn't mean, though, that other colors won't be added. I'm quite sure they will add a green tent. Although it remains to be seen if it will be 'camo,' or more akin to the bright green backpacks.

I know ya'll hate to hear it, but it's an alpha. Let me explain why this matters. The reason all the new additions are made now is because that is indeed the point of an alpha. Get all the content you want into the game so you know what you are working with, then get to work on all the little things that aren't quite right, and are bothersome. Of course the game is broken, this shit takes time, and nothing comes up perfectly at first. You even note this in a way, "at the most I have seen crash fixes." At this point in development, the devs are focused on adding content, and fixing gamebreaking bugs and errors, or crashes. Most of the things people complain about, like zombie pathing (continuously improving) and sound bugs for example, while annoying and potentially funbreaking, do not make the game unplayable and untestable. As such, they are lower on the list of priorities. As we approach the beta and additional content slows down, this is when we will see all the annoying bugs fixed and the game optimized. Until then, you can either deal with it or shelf the game for a while. You would be surprised how awesome DayZ is after a simple hiatus. You forget the nuances, revel in the new content, and have a blast.

I support this only if the defib window is really short, say 1 minute MAX. I am fine with sacrificing a bit of realism for gameplay improvement, and I think this would be okay. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't implemented, though, for reasons mentioned by others and dead simply being dead.

Patch notes should REALLY be more descriptive.

They probably want people to experiment and try everything to see if it does work, or if bugs occur. If everyone knew "SMERSH vest not compatible with X/Y/Z," the chance of people trying anyways decreases by a ton, and you never know when something unintended may occur and slip by. -
With the longhorn 'close enough,' I doubt they will add a revolver scope.
-
It isn't that though. I have been standing around talking with not a finger on my keyboard and my character spontaneously throws his magnum which ends up falling through the floor... The same floor that my friends mosin was inexplicably thrown into some 10 minutes before. This happened in experimental, and it is NOT user error.

Dayz Standalone is lacking a huge core piece in my eyes.
doctajones replied to Zanders's topic in General Discussion
It is true, sandboxes are open world games. But not all open world games are sandboxes. Its like squares and rectangles; all squares ARE rectangles, but you cannot say the same of the opposite. The games you listed (GTA, ACreed) are indeed open world, but I wouldn't call it a sandbox. They are open in the sense that there is a vast world you can explore, and are not tied to a series of instanced levels. However, those games are intended to follow a story line, with things that may change and the opening of new areas. The same cannot be said about DayZ. DayZ is an open-world sandbox-esque (another new word!) game where you have an entire map to use and explore for whatever it is you want to do. Its sandbox-esque in that you are creating your experience (usually via the interactions of other players), rather than having it be tied to quests or missions inherent in the game. -
Any server without or less KOS´s ?
doctajones replied to thechris80's topic in New Player Discussion
Gonna have to agree with this. High Pop: Everyone is in Berezino PvPing Low Pop: Everyone at Military Bases, probably KoSing The best servers, IMO are the medium pops (between 20-30) on a 40 man. I probably run into more friendlies than KoSers... Hell, I can't even remember the last time I was KoSed. -

Number one rule of player interaction: if they say friendly, they usually arent. Just say hello, hi how are you, whats up; pretty much anything a normal person would say. Make small talk. -

That is the beauty of this game, there is no 'purpose;' you literally do whatever you want. You can hunt for the best gear, hunt that elusive red deer, or simply hunt people. You can be a hero helping everyone you run across, or a villainous highwayman holding up people for their loot. The point of DayZ is to immerse the players in an environment unable to be reproduced in real life. DayZ gives us the world, the tools, the sandbox, but it is us, the players and our interactions with each other that make this game unique and fun, in my opinion. Well yes you are correct more tangible goals such as working together on building a helicopter would be great, but its a game in development, and these things are planned. We must work with what we got, and for me what we have now is sufficient. How about coming together to hold a friendly town? That is a tremendous goal, and a difficult one at that. There are people who strive to maintain a Green Mountain Sanctuary fit with active guards to hold a place to trade, and it constantly gets raided by bandits. Or there are people who solely stick around NWAF or Berezino to PvP. Like it our not, that is their current goal, and a fun one at that. Basically what I am saying is the point of DayZ is not to have a point. That is why the devs are against things like player progression and such, because at its CORE, DayZ is about what the player makes of it. The devs provides the sand, the players make the castles. -
I think the bandage has to be 100% to use for a splint. If yours was, then idk.

Quick question. Do I keep my char in stable if I change to exp?
doctajones replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in New Player Discussion
Yup. Although note in experimental, character wipes are frequent, so don't be surprised to come back to experimental as a fresh spawn. -
I mean visually its nothing to write home about, but graphics aren't what make a game fun. Just gotta know the tricks to get respectable FPS so its playable.

I'm running the game on a Lenovo laptop with intel integrated gpu. STILL HAVIN A BLAST BRO :)

The 'friendly' pose and how I am dealing with bandits
doctajones replied to gianni001's topic in General Discussion
I mean I guess it just comes down to how you approach a situation. If I am somewhere dangerous, mos def I'll have my weapon out; I'm expecting a firefight. But anywhere besides Berezino, military installations and airfields, I'm running around hands free talking to people. Someone looks hostile, I won't approach them or will talk to them from safety. There is always cover around. If you are fired at, taking cover should be your first objective, weapon out or not. Once there, you certainly have enough time to pull our your weapon and return fire. -
Ok so, my screen (computer) resolution is 1366x768, found in my resolution/display settings. In the DayZ config, Resolution_W=1366; Resolution_H=768; Should match that of your computers resolution for full screen.
-
Windows 7. Everything of my post should be true for windows 8 as well, besides maybe finding your resolution. If that right click method doesn't work, just go to your control panel and look for display settings or something similar. You should be able to find it.

The 'friendly' pose and how I am dealing with bandits
doctajones replied to gianni001's topic in General Discussion
I have to say I'm siding with OP. I see you with a gun out, you look hostile. Nothing else to it. If I approach you, you bet your ass I have my gun pointed at you and my friends LRS sighted on you as well. You don't put it away, you are getting blasted. So you are saying you have your gun out as a precautionary measure. Well guess what, I'm gonna shoot your ass as a precautionary measure too. Yes, I do. And guess what, I meet friendly people everywhere. Not saying this is true for you, trev, but I think i'm starting to see a relation with people complaining about being KoSed with their guns out, then in other posts saying they never meet friendly people... -
Hmm... What has happened to me is in my DayZ.cfg file (Found in Documents > DayZ) loaded up in the wrong resolution. Everything looked wrong and blurry, but I'm not sure if this is the same problem. Anywho, I had to edit the file to match my specs. I don't have the text from when it did that, but this is how mine looks currently.. Resolution_W=1366;Resolution_H=768;winX=0;winY=0; When before, I checked the file and it was set to something like : Resolution_W=60;Resolution_H=120; Now those numbers are made up, but you get the idea that it isn't right. Confirm that your config file matches that of your screen/monitor. If you are unsure what the resolution is, on a Windows rightclick your desktop and choose the option "Screen Resolution" Hope you resolve it!

You can tell a super by either seeing a million of the same item (pristine protector cases, 50 magazines) or by seeing two people with the exact same outfit. There's obviously a "chance" they got lucky, but 99/100 of these people are dupers.
