Hi, I'm very new to server hosting, and I kinda thought it would just be a matter of buying a server and voila, but thats not the case so I was wondering if anyone had a quick start up guide they had specifically for HFBservers. Under the services tab it says my server is Active. Yet when im using the control panel, the status of my server is unknown. If i follow the IP address of the server using the in game server browser, nothing is listed. When I click on current activity it says my server with the IP address is "stopped". Yet i'm not sure how to start it? Also it seems that when i click on Updates, there are a few updates that need doing, such as the new beta and the core dayz files itself. They are listed as 'not installed' yet when i click on 'install' it says 'this update cannot be installed at this time'. So i'm at a loss on how to proceed next. Any help would be much appreciated!

Rocket you haven't gone full retard, only some of the posters in this thread have, and are obviously not reading everything you say and thinking before posting. I am very happy with it being a mod for now, and when you (and the community) feels ready, to release it as a game or a DLC or whatever and to pay then, with the model you suggested (pay as much as you want). Having said that I'd still pay a good amount because hell, i bought Arma 2 CO just for this, so same deal really. Being a mod in alpha / beta phase gives you a lot of room to do what you want. Also keeping money / donations out of the equation at this time also gives you more freedom, because if you do make drastic changes in the future, those people who did donated might feel slighted even though they shouldn't, and that might hold you back from doing what you envisioned. So keep on keeping on, and the bitching will always continue. Great job rocket man, great mod, great community feedback, just great job :3

i thought this was cleared up already so can we get rid of this thread? you -cannot- die whilst you're logged off. you wont consume food or water whilst your logged off. all that will happen is youll get hungry / thirsty so when you do log on you'll have to eat / drink. easy mechanic to get around, just have some food / water in your backpack before you log off. you dont goto bed without breakfast for the morning do you? /thread

whats the empty backpack bug? and at what humanity do you switch over?

If i kill guys and become a bandit, does my humanity reset when I die and respawn? So I can be a bandit in one life, and a good guy in the next? And if it does stay with you, what happens when you make a new profile?
