I can see how that would get annoying. I hadnt thought of it like that lol
-
It was merely something I thought of in the game and I feel like the ideas are relevant to the game.

perhaps this could be considered the hardcore mode

Ok so playing today and I have to admit I'm a little upset. I find my way into a a nice school house. Shut all the doors and start searching for supplies. I clear the building and stop to take a drink of water and in the middle of the drink a zombie ran through a wall and beat me to a severe condition. I had no bandages after I killed the thing but there was a black tracksuit upstairs. I ran up there to get get it and I tried to cut it into a tourniquet, but no luck. I think that being able to cut clothes into a tourniquet or bandage would be a great addition. Oh and keep the zombies on the other side of the closed doors.

This is absolutely the most resourceful thing I could imagine. I actually think I well enjoy reading a map now.

Perhaps a way to draw on maps as well. If your pack is not water-proof you certainly don't want to take it into the rain. If you could draw on the map you could mark a building you left it in and find supplies in the town while your pack sits dry and be able to find it without a ton of searching. (i understand maps aren't generally waterproof but you could keep a map in the pockets of a waterproof jacket.)

I am just following roads for the most part. I'm trying to find a large town but the maps were a very fortunate find. If only I understood the language.
-
Try standing over it and pushing tab. I have this problem occasionally too and that works 9/10. Oh and unless you can translate russian those maps are useless. The road signs are russian the map is english. GOOD LUCK :)

I would be very satisfied with something like heat stroke. It represents a very real threat of the sun and isn't idealized as just an uncomfortable nuisance by everyone due to its frequency.
-
I don't wear sunscreen either and even in long periods in the sun my burns are very bearable. I'm talking about being in the beating sun of an open field for hours upon hours without something like a long sleeve shirt or a boonie cap.

While I agree with the idea of poisoning and the aspects is brings to the game, I don't know if I can believe you would poison something like food in a survival situation. That being said though I support the idea of putting poison into the game.

Just playing again today and got lost between two towns(I have a tendency to wander into the woods) I spent the better part of an hour running straight under what appeared to be a cloudless, bright and sunny day. Now I would imagine that game time elapses slightly faster than normal time so that must have been a heck of a hike through an open grassy field for the most part. Will sun play a factor into this survival game? I know that without proper clothing sunburns can get sever enough to incapacitate you, leave you with blisters and a high risk of getting infections if you don't have any medical equipment to clean it with. You could also wear long clothing and a boonie to prevent this burn. Sun screen and aloe or burn treatment could be applied to the game.(sun screen and aloe could even be fairly common. i know most adults with children are guaranteed to have it.) I certainly think it would make hikes between towns much more interesting or if you plan to play as a wilderness survivor/hunter it will add another dimension of survival that is rudimentary but very real.

I was thinking yesterday about the compass issue. In an apocalyptic world an item as valuable as a compass would be difficult to come by. However, there are other ways of discovering your bearing. For example lining the hour hand of your watch with the sun and halving the distance between that and 12:00 or magnetizing a needle and poking it through a piece of styrofoam then letting it settle in water.

I have only been playing for a few days now and one of my favorite environments to play in is a rain environment. As expected my clothes steadily went from dry to wet to soaked. I appreciate the inevitable onset of hypothermia when in wet clothes(although I'm not certain if that is something that happens, I generally dry off pretty quickly) but I could only accomplish this standing indoors or under a tree. I tried on a few times to just change into dry clothes but it did not change the soaked status. I feel as though the items themselves should hold the soaked status because if you take your soaking t-shirt off and put on a dry one you may not be entirely dry but you would be much drier. However, at the same time you might not have a dry shirt to change into. I know the best thing to do in the event that you become soaked is to take the clothes after you get into a dry, warm environment. This should decrease your level of being soaked or at least increase the rate at which you dry off. P.S. I have a couple other things that I'm not sure are being discussed. The sun should rise steadly to mark the passing of the day and give you a bearing of North, South, East and West Will there be thermometers in the game? If not how will temperature be indicated provided temperature even has an effect on your character? I managed to get my hand on a map which really excited me accept I had no compass-.- I finally found a road sign that exclaimed the village I was entering. Something Russian (no complaints I think thats pretty cool) and when I wrote the word down and checked my map all the names are in English. Do you understand what I'm saying? Thank you for reading :) and thank you for your comments. comp
