After 54 hours of playing and about 12 hours with this current character i have finally helped a fresh spawn get back on the horse :) Iv been spending the afternoon making my way up from Balota, along the coast to see the new town in the north, i would like to say I'm fully kitted... i do have an AKM with 2 x 75 round mags and a couple of pistols. plus the rest of the usual beans, rice, water etc. Any way, slowly making my way through the towns i come up on the lumber mill by Berezino. with that i start hearing explosions... I thought it was lighting at first but as i got closer i noticed the petrol station was being blown up, repeatedly... I kept my distance and tried to find the culprits. turns out two guys with what seemed like unlimited ammo (maybe hackers?) were KoSing everyone who passed... this annoyed me, so i went after them. Got one but got shot at by the other so i ran out to the north. while trying to spot the other one i noticed a fresh spawn running away. so i made a b-line for him shouting "mate i wanna help you!" the reply was "STOP F**KING SHOOTING AT ME!!" poor sod thought i was one of them. I stopped and shouted fair enough ill leave you too it, he eventually came back. so we had a chat, i gave him some beans, a machete and a can opener and we carried on up north to find him a weapon. He had to go but couldn't thank me enough for helping him after loosing all his stuff to those guys. Just thought i would share my story for today lol. There may be alot of Kosers and bandits but maybe the few of us that want to help make all the difference. :)

Isn't it a shame that the advice given is you might as well KoS everyone or you will only get killed.. I'm not saying it's right or wrong but in my limited experience (finally fully kitted again and living a good life) I have came across lots of bandits, of which most of them have eventually let me go after taking things like my can opener or beans or trousers.. The only place I have been KoS is on air strips. Maybe I have been lucky? My advice for beginners (being only 30 odd hours in) I would say get a mate on the game, or find one on here. It helps massively to have someone covering your back. Plus it gives more presence if you do encounter people. Edit: just too add. I have never KoS.. I always give people an option to stop attacking before I put them down :) maybe I'm just one of the tiny amount of nice guys on SA

Just to add to my post. Although I'm loving the new fps I am getting far more game crashes.. Maybe the world loader in the .cfg is causing it? I'll have a look on Sunday when I get chance to get back on :)

Well. My little home built rig did an ok job of running dayz SA but in some towns it did get a little laggy. So today I thought I would try it. Hey presto. GPS is sooo much better. I used the standard stuff (no splash world=empty etc) plus the .cfg file changes and it helped soo much! I even got onto a server and loaded quicker :)

Lol just posted in the first kill section about being KoS :p It's a fun game but running from a new spawn to anywhere of interest gets lonely :p

Got my first kill Friday night at 20hrs. The first time I had been to the NWAS... It was a low pop server and I was pretty kitted up already so I thought while I'm a grishno ill pop over and see what all the fuss is about. Spent about half an hour scouting the strip and the ATC, finally decided to go in. Around I went keeping to the fence and keeping low I popped into a few of the buildings near the ATC. I knew the area pretty good through watching a few streams and youtube clips so I thought I had a good chance of getting in and out again. Went into the ATC and all was well. Got a m4 and some ammo and went back towards a building I had missed. Knowing I was alone (how wrong was I) I ran in without a second thought, turned into one of the rooms and someone was knelt down drinking. I said hello on direct comms... No reply, he stood up, faced me and said nothing... I quietly said "friendly" knowing it was either going to go very well or very bad... Still silence... My m4 was already out, so I aimed and stepped back. The guy pulled his gun out so I popped him.. Kill or be killed was the only thought going through my head... I went to leave without looting but as I walked down the stairs I changed my mind, walked back into the room and had a little peak to see what useful things he had... It wasn't a lot but he had a friend. I didn't hear or see him coming... You are dead... Shot me in the back of the head without a single sound :/ I understand what he did seeing as I was looting a dead mans corpse. I would do the same if it was me lol

Hey guys. I'm jamie (RyGo UK) Iv been playing dayz standalone for a little while (logged 24hrs) and really enjoying it. I have gone through all the usual random noob stuff (dieing in barns, broken legs etc.) Any way. Getting bored of the lone wolf style so it's time to hit a community and see what's what :) My last spawn was pretty much geared up but I managed to stumble apon the east airstrip only to get KoS in a building. So I'm currently a new spawn. This time I will be a lot more stealthy lol. If any new players wants to join me add me to steam :) (rygo) I'm from Bristol, uk so quite a cool farmer accent too :p
