Cherno Overpoch 2 server is beginning to form a steady player base. It is a clone of our other Cherno Overpoch 1 server but it has a clean database. In time it will probably surmount to the same level as our Cherno 1 server so why not get in on the ground level and become established.

Ok go to advanced settings in video tab on Esc menu Turn off post processing first of all Make sure your resolution and 3d are the same set your hud to very small. it will require a restart but you wont be as close up behind your character. there are guides online for improving visuals some will have these in them but they were the fix for me

1 no a A2 client can not play A3 server. the game is required. 2 arma series is really poorly optimised in general. These games are extremely CPU heavy and reliant. There are so many items on screen to register at any one time that it takes a half decent CPU for good game experience. Intel normally performs better with it than AMD however A3 seems to have done a lot to improve optimisation for AMD chips and they are seeing great performance. 3 There is no OFFICIAL DayZ mod for A3. There are mods that mimic DayZ and it's offspring but Rocket (the guy who created the original DayZ mod) was working solely on DayZ Standalone and he has even moved away from that now. There are similar mods such as breaking point. There is a Epoch mod and a overpoch mod. Having said that no you don't need A2 and the dayz to play these A3 mods. All you need is the game and Arma3launcher. You can download any mods using this. 4 Those specs will play the mod however not at a very enjoyable FPS count. Like I said its CPU hungry and there are little tweaks to improve them but if you are looking for decent FPS you need to brute force it with high specs. 5 yes it still has a large community of consistent players. This is a game players get really invested in and end up spending a long time on the mods. It also has so many spin off mods. Most notibly Epoch, Origins and overwatch. Even these mods have collaborations such as overpoch and overpochins. The server I play on see's a consistent player count and maxes out its 65 slots every night. Deadcellgaming. This will run it but in reality it seems like such a waste. You could build a much better an more powerful gaming desktop with that budget and the performance would be far better. I have a gaming PC that I built which has phenomenal performance. Parts minus peripherals came to about €1200 (i7 4790k over clocked to 4.6ghz, gtx970 over clocked 4gb gaming edition, LGA1150 ASUS Hero Maximus VII ROG edition 8gb ram 2 SSD's 2 1TB HDD's gets about 100+ FPS in open world 50-60 FPS in cities ) and I have a gaming laptop which does exceptionally well too but I paid a small mortgage for that laptop €2100 ( it's the ASUS G751JY ROG I7 4860hq gtx980m Mobo is a ROG edition with all ROG tools am turbo mode for CPU 32gb ram 2 SSD's 1TB HDD it's a pretty high spec system and I get about 90fps in open world and 40-50 FPS in cities ) My point is no matter how nicely spec'd your laptop is you can always build a desktop that will outshine it for a lot less of the price. Just some advice but consider it before you buy

This is capable. If you wanted you could even overclock that CPU a bit. There are plenty of guides around on OC. You are looking at around 30fps in towns. 50 in open world

Sorry but no. To be honest this game is very poorly optimised and the processor does EVERYTHING. GPU doesn't mean crap for Bohemias ARMA 2 engine. AMD doesn't cope as well with it as Intel does. I had a AMD FX8320 8 core 3.50ghz black edition. Your looking at 25- 30ish FPS in large towns 40 to 50fps in the open world.

No mod is alive and well. At some point the A3 version may take over but in reality it's still being built as people play. Because of this it updates frequently and the servers get wiped so progress is lost. This turns a lot of people off playing the A3 version. Standalone is in development with years now so maybe... If it ever gets finished. Personally I prefer the A2 mod. Also it provides a variety of mods I currently play Overpoch and our regular server sees maximum capacity every night ( DeadCellGaming 65 player slots) but with so many different versions which all add something to the game it has that bit more to keep people interested. My first kill was a few years back now. It was a hatchet kill on a static sniper a top the hill overlooking Elecktro. I spawned In a random coastal town which now I know is Kamyshovo but back then I hadn't a clue. Found a hatchet in the waterside hangar and after some mass exploring of the town I followed the road to see so as not to get lost and see what where it would take me. As I was reaching Elecktro I could hear a faint shot coming from inland. Rather than put myself in harms way I turned straight towards the gunshot origin. I went off road up the hill and through the trees staying in as straight a line as I could (didn't know about holding ALT back then ). After a while if could see the other end of the treeline so I dropped down and listened and watched for a moment. Then I got a fright when a loud enough gunshot rang out from just behind me. I had either passed him or he had repositioned to a area behind me. I turned and watched for movement for a moment. I saw a gun barrel twitch behind a tree from the corner of my eye. I spent the next 10 mins trying to figure out how to use the hatchet. Eventually managing to get it from my toolbekt and into my hands I approache him slowly. I was within 5m of him when he began to stand up. I rushed to him quickly and took a swing knocking him to the ground and I walked over to claim my prize. Then I saw him move.. I had only broke his leg. He began spamming shots and me and took quite a bit of blood from me. I began flaying the hatchet at him while trying to keep moving. After something. Like my 15th swing I managed to connect and killed him. I accessed his gear and then collapsed unconsious. I died to Zeds but had gotten my first kill. Little did I know the path it would set me on all those years ago. Now I'm the premo bandit. I'm ruthless and merciless. I take everything and spare no one. A pure PVP junkie with no morals in game.

Ah ok. Thank you for clearing that up. I suggested that as I was having a stutter or freeze frame issue during a previous update ( the update was earlier this year when everyone began having BE issues ). Nvidia online chat assistance told me to change it and it fixed the issue. As I understood it was offloading effort from the CPU allowing it to process more efficiently. Thank you or clearing that up.
