Two very different but valid requests!

I've just always found the lack of noise strange but it's been this way since the mod so I'm used to it. The sounds, like ricp said, should be a key asset. They're integral to a true survival experience.
  2. Just wanted some opinions on these two things I'd love to see implemented. The first is a leg holster for sidearms; standard military gear. It'd free up bag space (which some would frown upon) but not often do you see military personnel carrying a sidearm in a backpack or, as in Day Z, a chest holster. The second would be for some noise to be made when doors are opened. Maybe add a system where you can either open a door quick and noisily or slowly and quietly? I was thinking about this when I was reading about how they plan to add in the ability to board up windows and such as their first phase of "base-building". Imagine having invested all this time into gathering materials to board up your pick of housing when you randomly get popped by a ninja who has mastered the art of silently opening doors. Thoughts? Feel free to flame me lol.

Will DayZ become a horror game?

Night time servers would be sweet if everyone didn't turn their brightness and gamma way the fuck up so they could see perfectly and completely kill the atmosphere. Also, there's about 50 24/7 DAYTIME MAD LOOT KOS N' HEROES WELCOME ALL DAY HAHA 30 MIN. RESTART servers for every one server that actually still has night time. I even joined a supposed 24/7 night time server only to be swindled as it was actually...a 24/7 day server. *sigh* I'd love for the DEV's to add some sort of gamma lock; that'd really make this game a challenge. If that were implemented, coupled with NVG's being introduced to loot tables (very rare of course), we'd start to see a real shift in the gameplay, at least at night. In the day time your average group of 4+ geared bandits are a nightmare for those who aren't as well off but during the night all it takes is one mosin and a pair of NVG's and that same group is suddenly a victim of the fear the put in everyone else.

Zombies are too hard (defending my opinion)

Aside from the pathfinding issues, I don't see why people are wanting uber zombies. I think the majority of people have overglorified zombies to the point that they forget they're just infected/dead HUMANS. You complain about one-hitting with fireaxes but I guarantee if you pick up a fireaxe, run down to your local Walmart, and swing it full force on the first person you see they'll be down for the count after one or MAYBE two swings. Shooting them in foot for a one shot kill has never happened to me cause I don't aim there but I'd be willing to bet that the average human would not function well after one bullet to the chest from an M4 either. As stated before, zombie strength comes from numbers. Once there's 15 zombies chasing you, you'll be glad it's a one shot kill. I'm excited for pathfinding to be fixed so I can weave through building interiors to break line of sight; that'll be a real rush.
