Lumberjack (DayZ)

Hi wondering if anyone can shed some light on this, our server is not re-spawning its vehicles running 1761 public hive, any suggestions?

M16 Acog is pretty tough to find, Ghillies, NVG's and AS50 can be found easy enough. I have never found Range finders yet from a spawn only on players I have killed.

Custom loadout? Is this the deluxe package?

Only problem with dayz commander is it can be several beta patches behind, wish they'd sort this out as we try to keep our server on the latest beta patch just recently though this saw our server population go from full during day time (50 players) to just 6 or so, rolled back 5 patches to latest found in dayz commander and server is full again. Aaprt from this dayz commander works well.

You just seem to describe the typical actions of the bean hunters, so you are the guy that sits on the coast with his duped AS50/M107 looking to kill fresh spawners for fits and giggles, then some guy gets the jump on you so obvious a hacker and probably he was so you log but of course you never log as most of the time your shooting un armed players on the coast from distance. Also its not guaranteed he was a hacker, we used to ambush players like your self in much the same way you describe without hacks your sniping spot is obvious and well abused. I stopped playing for a number of weeks now, last night i logged on as a new char being as i've played this game with a large crew for some time (most of which no longer play) it was around 30 minutes before I was fully loaded with all the best loot, in fact I managed to find a PDW silenced, Ak47 Kobra with launcher and an AS50 Thermal all hacked gear!!!!! But sod it I am past caring i'll use whatever i find. S I decided to go stake out your position as this is generally where a lot of guys come to kill fresh meat with there ill gained high end loot, as I moved there I spotted a guy on the coast ranged him and saw he had nothing so I moved on it was at this point I spotted another player 100 or so meters away from in bandit skin I slipped behind a tree and equipped my assault rifle but he came at me with a 50.cal which is not easy to use in close combat so I fancied my chance's but he yells friendly at me and well i thought what the heck i only spawned about 40 mins ago i'm Ghillied to the nines with the best loots and I can do it again in under 40 mins so rather than shoot I start to chat to him. He says he saw me look at the fresh meat on the beach and not shoot him so he let me live and he was glad I am not a douche who only kills un armed players,, hmm kay. He then goes on about my hacked Kobra so I promptly showed him my hacked thermal 50 cal and pdw sw. said it didn't really matter as those that spawned it would probably set damage kill me soon enough anyways. He then says he see's a player on Elektro sniper hill sniping fresh meat, now this is really strange as it a good 1.5 clicks through thick forest??? he then disappears I see a kill message then a few seconds later he is back he just teleported behind the sniper and shot him point blank. Parts of me think this is sweet justice he said this was his sole mission in life to hunt only the players that shoot the fresh spawns with their ill gotten duped gear. In some ways I feel like hacking myself just to do the same, lets face it those that hang on the beach all day trying to expend sniper rounds on fresh beaners with their duped gear are pretty much abusing the system anyway and deserve what they get.

See I think since the BE wave of bans its been worse for me, i've gone from being able to survive a few weeks and get 20-30 kills on average, to lasting no more than a day and lucky to get one murder, all circumstances where i died felt suspicious. It could be that players have gotten far more cunning than me but i doubt that they must of all been cheaters XD

You have to be told? Get out there and look there not hard to find

We used to make our camps out there in the 60's when this game was hip and cool, now we do not bother as everyone looks there for camps. But your thinking along the right lines now study the map think to yourself where would nobody look or where would I hide a camp if I wanted to be sneaky and devious and this is where you will find the camps. Although we've had to step it up a gear as large camps are now found easily as everyone looks where nobody would ever look, for us we never hide off the map its to unreliable, we also do not put all our eggs in one basket so they are all hidden within map boundaries usually amongst tree's, i'd also give you a few other secrets to our better hiding places but to be honest just work it out yourself. I remember heading to this really out of the way remote location thinking to myself this is a great place to hide my camp no one will EVER look here, I set-up camp saved it and was happy to have a nice hidden away back-up so off I trot when... whats that I hear? an ATV? and sure enough it was so i run back to my camp to find the cheeky bar steward going through my tent, a few swift shots put him to rest. So I packed up my tent and thought well that was just luck him finding my camp there are hundreds of other servers out there i'll choose one at random and make another. I found a nice Chicago server log in and as soon as I enter i'm faced with 6 tents a Ural, sedan, tractor and atv, shit me I thinks. I make a note of the server and leave, i then pick an EU server at random and log in and would you adam and eve it another camp!!!! Turns out my nice secret location in a place no one would ever think of looking is the same place everyone else decided to go.

An official server has @expansion @hive in the description bit. Private have something like @stats or @Bliss to name a few this i think i am right in saying is where you char saves. So no killing yourself will not restore your kit you'll just be dead

Just a bug it happened to me 3 times before, usually when i join a server and leave before everything saves properly it can send you into debug plains with absoloutly nothing on you just the clothes you was wearing. I've heard if you can make it back to the position you was at when this happened you will find your corpse with all the kit you had, much like you found out. So I do not think this was foul play just some kind of bug maybe brought about from the anti-duping methods brought into the game, maybe?

Your in the wrong game son it's a pve and pvp game, the problem with what your suggesting is you can just go loot at will with no threat from bandits which defeats the whole mechanics of the game. Maybe when rocket makes the standalone he'll include a single player version completely separate from the multi-player. As it stands this is multiplayer and as such you have to play with people, there is good reason why Rocket wished the game to be open and the rules for server owners forbids them from locking the server to other players, now private hive servers is a different matter as you can not carry over your loot to the main hive servers so it's fine in this situation. Suck it up team up and enjoy, although I have stopped playing until the standalone.

He cares a lot about his mod this much is so apparent it slams you in the face, but he is not an God he can not be in all places at once, and this was just an alpha testing mod which has had enormous success give the guy a break. The mod could not continue the way it was, hence we now have a standalone coming, hopefully in the coming weeks he can fix some of the main problems to let those still playing enjoy the mod until the full release is out.

What are the sources of these confirmed kills? They are confirmed you said it now I want proof!

I had 203 murders With 101 Bandit kills took me about 47 minutes of play.

I think the current amount you can carry is plenty, the suggestion your making would make it easier to repair cars.

I completely agree with you, so i made sure to vote on my p.c my wife's p.c and the p.c at work and any other p.c i can find so your loss of vote has been made up for by me. The game is even more buggy right now and not as enjoyable as when i first started, but the concept has been sold on me with this alpha so bring on the standalone!!! I'd appreciate some continued development of this mod if possible but personally I want Rocket to concentrate on bringing me a final finished standalone product.

The map is to small, it takes real ingenuity to hide a tent and even more for a vehicle. And what everyone else forgets is you know that really really clever place you thought you hid your camp well I as well as several thousand players have already thought of it. There are now so many tents on all servers that your bound to stumble on a few, let's not forget that a lot of camps were set up as quick holds around places like Cherno and never meant be be permanent camps.

We practically own the hardware our server is on we keep it open 24 hours with 2 clearly defined restart times, if it was a private hive then it really does not matter. And yes your right there are many severs to choose from and this is alpha, but I hope with the standalone server owners like yourself will not be able to abuse their privilege to hoard gear and vehicles it defeats the point of having a central hive and open persistent world.

I dunno, see I wander around the lands of Chernarus and you know what I see, burnt out military vehicles, dead soldiers, mass graves, road blocks, military heli's crashed in fields, military camps, and a military airfield. Now I think to myself something epic has happened here, a major military operation so I am in no way surprised to find military grade weapons everywhere it seems to fit perfectly with the narrative of what I see any way.

After this post you deserve to have everything you have stolen and to be shot in the back and I hope it happens, dayz is about persistent gaming without the threat of losing it all the game fails. Shutting down your server is just a form of admin abuse in my opinion, we leave ours on 24 hrs a day our camps and vehicles are always being looted, for almost a week one team held the Heli from us hoarding the vehicles, the fun was trying to keep it all and win/find it all over again.
