Here's the thing. If you are allowed to give your best opinion, then the rest of us are allowed to give the worst opinion. When I've purchased DayZ I knew it was on alpha stage, ages testing videogames thought me what an Alpha is and what you are supoused to expect about it. THIS, what's going on right now with DayZ it's now what you should expect about and Alpha release. Yes, you can expect texture problems, crashes, perfomance issues and tunning things such as how many akm should appear, or where... But persistance is something you need to ensure to the players, specially when they've decided to support your game and your studio. And no, I'm not talking or complaining about the M4 not spawning as easily on previous patches... I'm talking about something as simple as being able to keep your items after you die. Why? Because it's the main core of the game: you fight, you die, you respawn. Changing servers and having everything back to 0 is the clear proof that developers are not testing their code. They are just coding, coding, coding, pushing and trying to keep up with the deadlines leaving the quality behind. And quality, my friend, is crucial for a game. Alpha, right now, it's not an excuse. It's the state that highlights the fact that you have a great user base willing to support you and you can't even handle them a build where their characters persist.

I've been recording my DayZ matches, but I have to edit them. The problem is that bandicam records on .avi and the latest updates of sony vegas don't support .avi on x64 bits OS. Does anyone have a codec? I've been trying to find them googling them, but I don't trust any of the sites that post them. Any other solution besides the codec will definitely help. Thanks! =)

Hey! Welcome to DayZ, I'm new to the forum, but no the game. I've actually started playing the mod and then switch to stand alone. A couple of things that might be useful: 1-Don't server hop. Server hopping won't help you at all to prepare yourself for future encounter with players. DayZ is about looting and being dead after a couple of hours....it's inevitable.....you will cross a bandit on your way and either you die or the bandit does. So stop server hopping if you want to really know how to play the game 2-If you are re spawning on the coast, go in land and search for city that have mod houses and piano houses (piano houses are the ones that have inside of them). They have plenty of food and good guns. 3- Try hitting the zombies with axes, from my point of view, they are the most effective melee weapon to beat out zombies. A common axe or a firefighter axe should do the job. The trick is aim to head and move in circles around the zombies. Hope that those tips help you ingame! Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
