Why no 24h-cycle servers with nighttime ?
Kaboki replied to Spidey (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I played night until the latest exp patch, now it sucks, I can see everything even in bad weather, also turning down gamma to minimum doesn't help. No need for the flashlight anymore. Guess they did it so the 'night is to dark' crowd would be pleased, but that didn't help, night servers is just as empty as before the patch. Make it dark again, please -
Once you have built your base and all geared up, then it's time to protect that base and stay alive for as long as you can until you die and its game over. It's all there is, it's a survival sim....and there's alot of roleplaying possibilities in this game so if you're creative there is plenty of shit too do...

I hope they make so that rocks can be found anywhere without a pickaxe. Im an outdooorsman and have made thousands of campfires in real life, but I have never ever needed a pickaxe too find small rocks ^_^ . Carrying a pickaxe and an axe makes room for not much else in the backpack and I think it's ridiciolous to have too have booth to make fires that you can cook on.

Yes I really want it, and as long as I have a possibility to make a campfire to dry me up, then getting a little exposed to rain isn't to bad because it can be fixed. Also, it's not that hard to find raincoaut and stuff, so I probably would prepare myself for the weather. Sometimes I may have to wait out some heavy rain, but it just makes this game alot more like a survival game. It wouldn't be like it's raining acid and that you never can go out in the rain wihtout dying, lol, but it will give you more to worry about and that is enough reason for me to play even more.... If anyone remember Namalsk in the mod, we had to make campfires all the time to keep us warm from the cold enviroment. But it didn't prevent us from traveling around as long as we took these small breaks to get warm, it just made it harder to survive. Im guessing rain in SA would be something similar, that gives us more survival challenges. The harder it gets to survive the elements the more I like it, means less KOS, more people team up to survive.

Actually I don't mock people, but I have told a lot of people to fuck off......hint hint

What is the fun in mocking people for their spelling skills?, Sorry, I don't see the humour in that. Having a laugh at the expense of others I don't see that as having fun :|

2 things NEEDED to be fixed in next update.
Kaboki replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Well now you have met that person:p. Have never had the issue your describing, actually I have never been killed in dayz SA by a bug ever in my 300 hours played. I have also heard the ladders is dangerous, but I climb ladders all the time and have never died in them. Only thing that kills me in Dayz SA are the KOS'ers :D . Guess Im lucky haha -
Yeah, stop mocking people for their grammar, not everyone is born 'merican or british. Alot of us are foreigners and we may not spell perfectly correct. Oh and shrub, like that you leave notes. Always like when someone drop notes around and I find it. I also write a journal for my characters for those who killed me can read about my characters struggles in Chernarus.

What is there to complain about? Sickness or being cold from rain isn't in yet so the rain is harmless, and sure it can rain alot in real life, been soaked myself just being in contact with rain for a minute when it's pouring down:p. What im tired of is that getting wet hasn't any effects yet..I wanna get sick, I want to fear being wet and cold, makes it harder to survive. Why don't you get a raincout? :P

I didn't too me either before that instructor tested us and we where all amazed how much better we could shoot afte being stressed abit. If I hadn't expirenced this myself I would probably not belive it either. I don't know the science behind it but it worked like magic on us :P
-
The test wasn't in any means to simulate a real combat situation, it was to point out that when when having run for a kilometer and the pulse gets higher and your excausted(breathing heavily) it can improve your shooting skills compared to being calm with normal pulse.. I atleast hit my targets alot better after running around for abit and so did the rest of the platoon. Some of them couldn't hit the side of a barn normally, but after 'stressing' them up abit, they became excellent at shooting. Why are you mixing in epinedhrine, real world combat situations etc(wasnt my point at all, but in a stressed combat situation I bet you even perform better than this simple run test), my whole point was just, when running in the game it shouldn't give you more weapon sway and in real life you get even better at shooting after some excersise... Your calling my test invalid, how, what is invalid by testing shooting skill when excausted versus calm and rested and then compare the results????? Your the one that brought in epinedhrine and adrinaline to the discussion, I just simply tell you that, after a long run you perform better at the shooting range than when calm and rested, nothing more nothing less...
-
Sorry I misunderstood a little, as long as you don't combat log during a hold up and just go out with a fight Im okay with it. Sorry for being a dick, calling you a dick :P
-
Only thing I agree with your post is this, yes you are a dick. Im not going to argue anymore in this thread because I was banned 2 weeks ago because of a thread like this that went south pretty quick :P

Not sure if its against the rules, so please go easy. Are there any "Loadout" Servers?
Kaboki replied to wmike20052's topic in General Discussion

I agree with the OP too. But your example is kinda bad, Im a freindly player and always try to interact by voice before shooting someone, but If I met you in that situation where you fired upon me, I would also kill you on sight because if you had bad intentions or not, how would I know?, all Im seing is a crazy surviver trying to kill me. Being fired upon doesn't exactly make me wanna communicate ^_^

You mean sometimes you want to get in and KOS someone and then get out ^_^ ...I hope 'easymode' never gets in again, you don't have my sympathy. -
I would rather have deseases and and having concequenses with being exposed to cold and rain and have working zombie hordes before vehicles get implemented because If that shit doesn't get in before cars it would just change from a running sim to a vehicle sim, and not being the survival game it was supposed to be.... :P

I still don't understand your point that my 'stress' test was invalid. But let me make one thing clear, during that test I had no difference in weapon sway during calm shooting, and stress shooting, but under stress It was like I didn't need to aim, but more like point my gun at target, fire and I magicly hit my target without having to concentrate like I useally would at the firing range. My only point is, that I would like that running for a while doesn't impact weapon sway at all, and that changing stances would be the only thing that is affecting the sway.

I agree, because nothing will prevent people from using it as long as there is a possibility to use it, but, I still consider people using it cheating son of a bitches  , but Im used to it, so it doesnt bother me much. Same with the "fixing blurry vision with entering video settings", I don't use it, because I like to have a slight challenge in a game that, well isn't any challenge at all, even if it gives other players an advantage over me. I would prefer If people didn't cheat this way, but I have learned to live with it, just gives me more challenge knowing that Im probably the only one running around with blurry vision after zombie attacks. Heck I sometimes eat rotten fruit too 'simulate' that I got a desease after that last zombie hit me, I do this occasonally just to get more 'survival' out of this game  .

I just wish everyone was forced to play hardcore so the hc servers would be more populated... :|
-
Hmmm, what do you mean? I found the test very valid, and it proved to me, if Im running for a while and then try to hit targets I hit better than if Im taking my time and is well rested... I don't understand what you mean with the epinephrine....
-
When I was in the army our firing range instructor did a test on us to prove a teory that we perform better when under pressure. So he had us first shoot a few rounds when we where calm and rested, then he made us run for a while excausting us a bit and then made us run down to the range and blast off a few rounds when we where tired and almost had no breath left. It turned out that everyone shoot better when excausted and performed badly when rested and taking their time to aim....He's theory got confrimed....
-
Lol, You will never find a night server that is populated, most people are on daytime, so it should be very easy for you to avoid the night..... I don't use the gamma exploit, first of all it makes the game look like crap, and second I like the darkness(wich they ruined with the latest patch). Offcourse when there are some out there who use the exploit, then I just 'pretend' they have been lucky and found a pair of NV googles, that way I don't need to use it.

Armed Helicopters Are NOT Overpowered
Kaboki replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Lol, It doesn't simulate 'vortex ringstate' and that's about the only thing that makes a simulated heli hard to fly. Yes, it would be sligtly hard already with the TOH engine, but it would be doable with a keyboard with current engine. With 'vortex ringstate' added you would crash just by taking off without analog equipment, without it, sorry everyone would be able to take off and even land after a little practice , no they would not be good pilots without analog shit....but they would be able to use it for simple transport from A to B With just a keyboard But I want it to be taken to the NeXT level, so that players even with joysticks and throttles and pedals too struggle. Hell yeah again hahhahaha Then they would actually need to know how to hover safely and make a descent correctly without falling from the sky:D And they need to learn how to get out of that dangerous condition before they hit the ground and die... Trimming and hover is not diffucult at all without the mentioned condition implemented....And even learning to deal with vortex ringstate isn't to hard either when you get the basic in how it really affects the chopper but the less skilled pilots would not be able to land in tight spots, so you would see most of them need a whole foootball field to land safely and only the 1%'ers would nail landing in the tightest spots. So that would mean most of the pilots transporting their 'troops' would actually have to walk into town from the ouskirts giving the players in the towns a chance to run before that 5+ people clan get to them. Or at least get a fair advantage over these basterds in the sky....Then we would only have to really fear the 1%'er clans out there with a pilot that really know what he's doing... This is my pipe dream when it comes to helis in dayz  , My motto is, 'as real as it gets' It's a shame though, since arma engines do excellent simulations of ground combat but it really lacks up in the air...
