Well, I can confirm that GameBooster works, along with turning off everything except for the game and GameBooster like Valechor said. I suffered only one major lag issue, and that was when the server decided to mass spawn zombies (about 50 zombies spawned in a span of five or so seconds). I only suffered from a couple of microscopic stutters here and there, but other than that... DayZ worked like a charm for me!

Turned of firewall and anti-virus, can't determine if it worked for me or not. The freezing continued, but it was much less frequent then before. Going to try out GameBooster now.

Hmm... Seems as if GTX 500M series are having this specific problem? Possibly NVIDIA in general?

Did you install the hotfix?

Happens in DayZ single player, but I can play Arma2 single player just fine. I think it may have to do with the number of zombies? I'm not sure. I have no idea how this all works.

I have the GTX 560M and I have the SAME EXACT problem. I'm almost positive it has a lot to do with how the game is optimized, but at the same time, I see videos on YouTube where people play with smooth framerates through 40 or 50 minutes. It's really frustrating, I know the feel.

Performance has a lot to do with how the game is optimized. I think this has been said at least 100 times on this forum.

Having no gun at the start of the game doesn't bother me because I rarely even used my pistol once I started. I was so silent, always. The same applies for me for the 1.7.1 patch. It's FAR from impossible. Stop bitching and learn.

I have the steam version. I've done everything in Skyrayfox's guide, and the game works fine via Combined Operations. But am I supposed to launch the Beta from the directory? There's a file that says "Launch Arma 2: OA Beta" but that doesn't work.
