Pretty good example for the current problems. I can understand if someone survives a hit when he has a full backpack or when he gets hit anywhere but the head/chest. But if you do, for the love of christ, the shot should be fatal. Or rendering the target unconscious at least. If the mosin is not the right weapon to do this job there are plenty of other bolt action long range rifles who can operate within this parameters.
-
Was the Mosin Damage also nerfed? I would like to point out that it really sucks if you cleary hit someone and he doesn't go down when you play with the mosin. I know that there are factors reducing the damage and let you survive a shot or two before anyone bothers to point that out, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Nerfing the dmg of weapons in the game is not making sense and here are my top reasons why: 1. First and foremost: Combat logging. Seriously this shit has to stop as soon as I hit someone and he's not dead he instantly runs off and logs out. That is NOT surving, that is pussying out of a situation you lost control over. Fucking cowards. If I shoot with a LRS from 1000 meters I just can't get to my target before he logs out. 2. Lag and overall game performance. Due to the desync and other technical obstacles it's hard enough as it is to hit someone. Taking the one shot to kill opportunity makes it way to easy for players with desync to survive. I would like to point out the countless encounters my mates and me had where we had to pump full magazines into one person from 1 fucking meter because the shoots just wouldn't get registered properly. It also rewards players like the countless server admins who abuse their rights and kick people to loot the good weapons, while punishing the regular players who can only get their hands on weapons with lower damage like a sporter22. 3. The way the game is build hitting moving targets is difficult. And I absolutly like that, it should stay that way and I'm absolutly against half automatic sniperrifles, range finders, infrared scopes or technical gimmicks like that, if anything I would include wind, humidity and stuff like that. But IF you hit a moving target you should be rewarded for it. Just yesterday 3 avoided death by logging out after taking 1 or even 2 hits in the back, legs or frontal chest. Where is the point of "surviving" if I can just log out because of faulty gamemechanics? 4. Due to strange damage tables and or lags desync it is possible to kill an enemy AFTER you recieved a killshot. This happened several times on nwaf in the prison. My Teammate shot someone and died 3-4 seconds AFTER his enemy was already on the ground because he could continue shooting instead of going down instantly.

Do LEGIT players who follow all the rules risk being banned if a hacker is teamed up? Or is it only the hacker who gets banned?

I always imagined it would refill itself when it was down to 1 round or something. -

It would be very hard to distinguish between intentional cheating and bad luck. A player could pick up a hacked magazine from a dead cheater (I never found one but I imagine it looked the same as a regular?) but he would potentionally only notice that after playing quite some time having the item on him but never using it. On the other hand it would be really bad if someone bought a second account to cheat items for his whole group. that was what I was refererring to in my first post. Since it has been implied multiple times by now I guess it won't harm writting it down in detail <_< -

And this, in my opinion, is information an administrator for a game/studio specific forum shouldn't make public. It might push the sales, but it also can give some the wrong ideas. -
To clear things up: YES it works some times. There is a second bug where you have additional sway when you got hurt by any kind of damage that appears randomly for me and my friends so far. Morphin or a splint WILL fix that problem. For the sway + using fov and weapon sway itself there is a bug that fixes the bug yes. But since it's a bug and can be exploided I obviously can't spill it out in public <_<

If your not satisfied with the lack of body type just think of it like this: Everyone who is still alive at the point the game starts at already survived the apocalypse itself. Food is scarce and the characters had to flee for months. I highly doubt that there would be many guys and girls with a different bodytype like slim/muscular left.

Hackers crackers usufructuaries whatever they are they won't feel more belittled because you give them other names ;) That is just not part of the self obsessed personalitys cheaters are posessing.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
TyrDaishi replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
posted this before but I think it is interesting in the sense that the hackers tried everything to conceal the shit they pulled Yesterday/ This morning. Hackers are getting more stupid by the minute: I played with 3 friends yesterday. It was 1 am so the server was pretty much empty at that point, only 2 other guys left. One of my friends gets shot at nwaf towerjail entrance. we get the guy who did it, my friend shoots the 2nd guy who was with him as well. I shot him in the back from 100 meters with a mosin, he is still alive. suddenly he gets back up after being 10 seconds unconscious and shoots my 2nd friend who is in front of him. Anyway me and my 3rd friend are left on the airfield. so after some time the two enemys are coming back in hope to get their gear. We wait for our friends to do the same. My buddy is in the in jail, im outside. I shoot enemy Nr.1 again, I went up to him took his guns, checked his puls and emptied the guns he had (mosin and blaze). The second guy leaves the server and comes back in after some time, my buddy is guessing he is logging back in his back in the jail (hence infamous ghosting), which he does. me and my buddy see him up the stairs and we literally shot 50-60 bullets m4 and akm at him but he just won't die. then I hear a mosin shot from the right and i'm dead. headshot. this happened 20-30 seconds after I killed the 2nd guy and there where ONLY my friends and the 2 enemys on the server. when we first met them they where hording a ton of stuff in the jail which they I can only guess cheated as well. We all respawned and our friend who got killed first found an helicrashsite and was waiting for us near the jail but he got killed again by the same guys who just popped out behind him in the woods. So my friend who got killed last got to the jail again and grabbed my mosin. The 2nd enemy who was ghosting did it a second time after that and they killed each other. (I'm so proud of my friend who never used a mosin to get the m4 dude *tears of happiness@ Kora*) So how 1. Did the guy get back from being unconscious in 10 seconds after getting hit by a mosin from 100 meters? is that even possible to get back up so fast? 2. Did the combatlocker in the jail get an m4 right after he respawned? 2. Could the ONLY other enemy we had on the server get to the west airfield in 20-30 seconds after I killed him (no pulse warm to touch, shot him 2 times to be sure he was dead) to shot me when we attacked the combatlocker in the jail? This was literally impossible since we had only 2 hostiles on the server at that point. 3. could the guy detect my friend with the m4 from the crashsite, while he was hiding in the woods behind the jail. my friend watched the door while he was inside and he couldn't have left without cheating, he did NOT relog that time. 4. Sometimes they exactly knew where we were, sometimes they didn't. It was like the hacker only turned the cheats on when they lost the fight. So why not just play and learn how to the hard way instead of choosing the easy way out and turn on cheats when you lose control of a situation? Those 2 did there absolut best to make it look like they didn't cheat (aside from the obvious ghosting into the top floor jail) but it was so obvious it was really laughable. Just because you don't use an aimbot people can still see when you use other cheats retards. I think the reason why it played out this way and we didn't just got killed instantly was that only one of the two was cheating. The second guy "only" used the information he got from the actual hacker. It was satisfying though that we could kill them more often without artificial help from cheatsoftware or ghosting anyway. I'm just sad that my character had to go like this, I survived around 20 shootouts (3 weeks, around 100 hours), which is a considerable amount in this game I guess. -

I did not compare sexism to the hurting of individuals. What I did say was that it was the case in the specific incident described by the girl who made this post. You are making assumptions about sexism you can't proof, or at least you provide none. Where exactly are your "scientific works" on the subject? "Normal" is not a term you can generalize in the way you do. Normal is based on a fuckton of factors that could for example start with the society and culture you life in and comes down to the single person defining it. I did not ask you if you are in a political party, I specifically asked you what you actually did to prevent what you so blatantly dislike. You're comparing slavery to sexism? Seriously? But aside from that, there are actually more people living in slavery than at any point in history. So what are you doing about that? Here's some context for you: https://www.freetheslaves.net http://www.alternet.org/story/142171/there_are_more_slaves_today_than_at_any_time_in_human_history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_slavery Even considering that there are obviously more people living on earth than ever before this is kind of alarming to me. So if this is as "unacceptable" as you claim where are the protestors on the streets right now protesting against slavery? My whole point was that what the girl encounters wasn't sexism or gender discrimination but part of the human experience. The gender just doesn't mean shit like people like you claim who need to print a fucking label on everything and rant about it. Every fucking girl that responded to the topic said it wasn't true and the girl herself said she was beginning to feel stupid because she understood that it wasn't gender discrimination but the ever present behavior humans can show. And that is also what others posted as reply, labeled by you as "sexism". Obviously there are men who are using stereotypes to oppress woman, but that is true for fucking everyone who has some kind of power over others one way or the other. Or do you think this doesn't apply e.x. to the homosexual community? Also there is a fuckton of “false facts” regarding the inequality of men and woman, at least in the western world. I don’t see you fighting for woman’s rights in Iran though, or even human basic rights on the globe? If you actually are good for you bro, doesn't mean you can apply it for the given situation regarding Caitlin. Did I say you can't try to help others achieve equality? No. I said if you do it don't be such a fucking hyprocrit and do it for fucking everyone and not only the ones who bitch and moan about their problems more and the ones you “deem worthwhile”. This phrase alone shows how much you belittle others and not even noticing it yourself. Despite the fact that the ones you “defend” even wrote they don’t even feel that way in the first place.

When did I ever say I was against change? What I'm against is people like you who are playing wannabe humanitarians on internet forums while you most likely never actually did anything to positively address problems within society or did something that would have an actual improving impact on it. And what I can guarantee you is that potentially (but unlikely) changing the viewpoint of a few gaming forum users regarding your so called sexism which is nothing more than the hurt feelings of insecure individuals exposed to normal social behavior patterns that have no special relation to a single individual problem within society won't do jackshit for anything except your ego, where you can tell yourself that you "protected" people "weaker" then you. That's what you actually can call sexim.

Let me put it this way just because you give old stuff fancy names you can pick for the same old shit, kind of a supermarket where you can buy thousands of different products that could be very well coverd by 2 or 3, it doesn't mean that you need to talk about it all fucking day long. Especially when the products are offered anyway, you like it or not boi.

Was there an update for exp? because the sway was as bad as 0.45 for me yesterday. @Khanaracyou know I love you dude but using and drawing a femal avatar + your signatur bugs the shit out of me for some unknown reason. Ganz ehrlich, mach das weg -.-
-
It is a bug. Please consider reading what I posted over here : Weird weapon shaking in 0.45 The sway doesn't consider field of vision and zoom correctly right now, so everyone who wants to shoot distant targets is screwed. Current FPS could play a role as well. Also the way the weapon moves is not realistic, especially when prone.

As long as the zombies are no big thread there is only so much you can do in the game until you start pvp out of boredom. would be different if the map would be filled with zeds. But for this to happen fortification and some other stuff must be in the game first.

There are some threads that can teach you how to be (relativly) save while approaching others, you can read about that here or on reddit. It generally doesn't matter that you are a girl, but it gets abused in larger groups quite often so that made more experienced players careful. KOS is part of the game that is just how it is. If you can't deal with it the game is just not for you. There are certain general behaviors that will get you killed, but that also depends on the individuals you are dealing with. My personal reasons to potentionally kill people I'm interacting with: Your weapon is drawn You run around constantly when we talk You ask me strange question about the size of my group or similar You don't talk or write at all. Normally I will tell people how to use the chat ingame, if they don't react at all I will kill them. You are walking around in military structures There are many that are to afraid or have no interest in talking to others, for them it's a straight shootergame. You will always find players with this kind of mindset. Also some are just switching roles depending on their mood. It happens. Your gender has nothing to do with it, if someone wants to find a reason to kill you they will.

use a fully zoomed in lrs with fov reduced as much as possible and come back before judging
-
First off stuff that people claimed would help but really doing nothing at all: vitamins, morphin, splints, painkillers. If you sprint you are way to soon out of breath. I think I found part of the problem with weapon sway or maybe the main problem: I noticed that, if I zoom in as much as possible with the lrs I have incredible high fps looking at some far distant points. When the fps are extremly high the weapon sway is fucking insane (I had around 120 fps). I started recording lokking at the same point and the fps dropped as low as 40 and suddenly the sway was nearly gone. So maybe that is not the mainreason but it effects me incredible hard. This is happening in 10/10 tests I made. This also explains why some claim they have little problems while others have huge sway. but even if this is correct for long distances the sway is still to high. also: the sway is the same on all distances/magnification so the longer the distance is the bigger the problem obviously
-
Hey folks, just a little thought that just crossed my mind: With the new pathfinding and the incoming patch that includes more animals, how about you add cats and dogs in the city (non eatable/skinnable). The extra movement could spice up the fights and add to the tension that can overcome some while moving around. My friends got surprised by some rabbits the other day so I think this could really work. also: wolves/ animals that attack zombies and/or players I don't know if this was suggested before but if it where just delete my thread please.
-
Exactly that is what I'm trying to tell those here who obviously never touched a gun in their lives before or had any kind of professional training. And before someone says the characters in DayZ don't have training also, this is a post apocalyptic world setting, POST. How did you think they survived so far without having the training or learned in the past to do what's necessary. Also why does seem to be so hard to understand that we absolutly FOR realism and weapon shaking. just not in the extreme way it does now. @blacklabel morphin OR holding your breath did nothing.

So... my friend got kicked yesterday for a faulty gear_cookingpot.pbo or something but he never changed his gamefiles. can you replace missing or corrupted .pbo files by checking the game content in steam or what? Also I hope you see by the filename alone that it would be pretty pointless to be able to see through cooking pots  -
Animalskins: what would you do with skins so small? if you have a practical use I wouldn't mind. Eatable: given the fact that dogs and cats are mostly domesticated animals and living in urban areas the likleyhood that all animals that survived the apocalypse in those cities would have a very high probability of carrying diseases in form of bacteria or viruses or any kind of substance toxic for the human body. I would NOT suggest eating domestic animals if an shtf scenario would ever occur; source: I work in a company which makes a large bandwidth of biological and medical tests for humans and animals. In the dark ages it was common along poor folks to eat rats and small birds because of starvation and look what beautiful sickness this provided us with, killing nearly 1/3 of europes population at that time. I'm aware there where other factors as well regarding the black death beside the one mentioned.
