  1. Hmmm, I have to disagree. Some things have to be experienced as a result of gameplay directly. Skinning a virtual person will never make you sick. Skinning someone IRL would almost certainly do so. And even if you were sick, how would that translate into gameplay being affected? Your character wouldn't lose any energy or water, and so it wouldn't add to anything. Naturally any sort of humane response from your character would have to be subtle and random to avoid it becoming annoying.

    Don't fix waterpumps

The game is harder now, that's for sure... how about a compromise? Wells will function at variable levels of effectiveness. Some will give dirty water which needs filtering and boiling/purifying Some will give bacterially infected water Some will give very little water (this will be reset by rain) Some will give lots of pure water There will be no way to tell which of these is the case just by looking. This would finally allow us to make use of the water purification tablets.

    Axe degradation

Love this playstyle!!! Would love to see someone doing this working with a farmer for mutual benefit... Sadly they would be killed by bandits, but they could enjoy that while it lasted.

    Reduce fall damage.

When you fall from one story, you break your leg. Now I am not saying you should be able to jump from two stories and be fine, but five or so feet shouldn't ruin your game. I would suggest that more 'degrees' of injury be introduced, from just minor pain which goes away in a few seconds after some limping, to a more serious injury that needs to be checked later, to a full blown broken leg. I just find it annoying that my game was just ruined because I decided to jump down from a small height to avoid going past some zombies! Thank you, 11tw
  5. Seems to me that the OP likes to try and validate his (dubious) opinions by saying that he has made a lot of posts... WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!! Seriously, look up Fallacies, they are where your argument is either based on something which is incorrect or utilises an incorrect notion. Here the fallacie is Ad Hominem, letting your background dictate whether your argument is correct. The amount of experience you have doesn't guarantee a good opinion. Someone who has played 2000 hours plus could still say: 'Let's nerf the zombies!!!' Not to say that your point can't be argued, just stop acting like your post count makes you special or means you get any extra consideration.

    Emotions-Possible KOS Deterrent

Any morality system would be: 1) limiting 2) clunky 3) badly implemented 4) frustrating 5) unnecessary It would make way more sense to just do what the devs are doing... the game is getting harder (hypo/hyper for example) and so over time there will be less players with unlimited ammo and food sitting around bored looking for someone to kill. Once the game gets hard enough, these people will start rage-quitting pretty quickly, as they signed up for the easy-to-master broken alpha, not the you-are-going-to-die complex full release. Could we stop calling them 12 year olds though? Seems like an unfair generalisation (most of the bandits I have met who spoke to me seemed to be in their 20's).
  7. I am not an expert botanist, and so some research would be have to done into this obviously. However I am aware that stewing deadly nightshade (AKA belladonna) and boiling it down makes quite a potent poison. This could be used for hunting (as it can take hours to kill a deer with a bow in real life). Also, herbs tend to be good for you (as far as I'm aware). Maybe we could add herbs to the insides of bandages to help fight infection (again I am not sure which herbs. Maybe a book could spawn which teaches the player which ones are good for bandages). I do know that certain herbs have proven medicinal properties, and this could add some depth to the medical system, giving you an option other than the drug-based medicine (which would obviously still be more effective, because drugs are REALLY good for you).

    Reduce fall damage.

From a low-medium height landing feet first is a good idea. However from a 3rd floor it is much much safer to land flat on your back. This is very difficult to pull off, and if done wrong you will probably injure your spine.

    Reduce fall damage.

if you fall with all your body on the ground, the pressure is spread evenly throughout your body. If the fall is low enough, then this means no damage to anything at all. If you fall feet first from the same height (lets say 3 stories) then you will totally shatter your legs.

Can you feel the sarcasm?(I laughed a little)

I was really happy with the latest patch. I think the game is growing at an acceptable rate. We have passable zombie AI, animals, guns, fires, cooking, craftable items and a lot more. Posting: 'just add cars already' doesn't help in the slightest.

    Ladders, step ladders, and stools!

We would have to be able to pull them up after us as an escape method. How cool would that be? Also, traversing roofs sounds awesome, like The Last of Us!

    Reduce fall damage.

How big a fall you can survive depends on how good you are at falling. Maybe there could be a dedicated control for assuming the spread-eagled position while falling?

    How to stop server hopping.

The obvious solution is to limit the number of server changes you can do in an hour. The most you would ever need would be 3-5 changes an hour. That way it doesn't punish ordinary people, but it does punish deliberate loot farmers. Sorry if this has already been suggested in the thread, but I didn't want to sift through 3 pages of bickering.

    Poisons (and various herbology)

herbology aka herbalism or herbal medicine. Not to be confused with magic.

    Poisons (and various herbology)

my childhood home had tons of poison oak and deadly nightshade in the garden... still don't know how we all made it out alive.
  17. This would be cool. I do quite often see JOIN = KICK servers, password servers, servers which claim to be PvE etc.

Poison arrows by stabbing dead zeds

Cool idea... most likely rubbing an arrowhead into a dead body that has been left for a while would be most effective. That could be a good use for rotting meat!

    Bandit

Kind of pointless to argue about grammer. I like things to be spelt correctly, but I don't worry about it too much. At its core it's about communication. Sometimes grammer mistakes can leave things ambiguous: 'eats shoots and leaves' however here it's kinda obvious. Back to the issue... I tend to put a lot of faith in people when I run into them. So far my rating for aggression from other players has been 50:50, so I still act friendly (but cautiously). The issue here IMO is that rubber bullets and bean bags are things you don't usually run into. I could imagine the police having them in America, but a Soviet State? Most likely they would just shoot into the crowd (judging from history). However from a pure gameplay perspective, I see nothing wrong with having a non-lethal takedown method (apart from handcuffs).

    Fix the zombies seriously!

either way the devs are kind of screwed. If they make zeds pushovers then people complain. If they make them deadly then people complain. In my opinion, Zeds should be a serious and deadly threat. So what if you lost 3 hours of work because a zed killed you? It's the point of the game! Imagine if Aliens: Isolation got turned back by Beta testers, saying: Sorry man, the Alien is just too freaking strong! Maybe if you made it so it runs slower then the player... Or if the developers of SCP Control Breach were to make SCPs slower and less aggressive. It would ruin the scary atmosphere completely (going off topic, SCP Containment Breach is a great Indy free to play survival horror game. Lots of bugs if you are on certain systems, but then again we all play DayZ). the Zeds are supposed to be hard. If they weren't then it wouldn't make sense as a zombie game. Your safest bet is to avoid zeds all together, which isn't too hard as long as you're lucky enough to see them from behind. Plus keep in mind that certain features which will allow you to fight zeds better haven't been implemented yet. When we have barricading, climbing, vehicles, makeshift weapons etc. fighting zeds will still be hard (I hope) but will allow us to learn to survive better in what will (hopefully) be a great game.

    Add 'fountain dew'

Spite (sprite) Phanta (fanta) Professor Pepper (dr pepper) Glucozade (lucozade) Beast (monster) Dead Bull (red bull) Tribena (ribena) Hydrogen Dioxide (water) all the ideas I had...
  22. I am on the stable patch. When I log on to DayZ I open up the servers menu and the listed servers all say experimental. When I try to log on to these servers it says something about a 'Bad Version'. I then went and verified the game cache, and I switched my settings from stable to experimental and back again. I load up again and same problem. This means I can't play the game, any ideas on how to fix it?
  23. wondering whether to laugh or recommend you seek help...
  24. ah, okay, didn't know about the maintenance.

    Craftable spears!

we should be able to make makeshift rope out of rags. Lots and lots of rags.
