Guys, it can be pitch black outside. Remember that most of us live near cities and towns, and the lights in the city light up the sky for miles around. The light "bounces" from the atmosphere and shines on the ground. That's why observatories need to be placed in the mountains, far away from urban areas. I don't think that a city would be well-lit after an apocalypse, so the moon would be the only source of light. Stars wouldn't be anywhere close to enough, so if there was no moon, or too many clouds... you wouldn't see a thing.

So. First I was shot in the back of the head when I was drinking water, unarmed. I respawned, then I was shot in the torso and ran away. A bambi chased me, but gave up. A guy found me, bandaged me, gave me food, asked about who shot me... and shot me in the face when I said "thanks" after I finished eating. I spawned in a different town, walked up some stairs, broke my leg. I went down, chopped some kindling, it was glitched, couldn't pick it up. A guy found me, made a splint, I used it... he axed me to the head. He only had the axe, but didn't even take my stuff - SKS, backpack, nothing. I just don't understand some people. So my rules are now: 1. KoS 2. Avoid players 3. Go into the woods 4. Survive in the woods 5. If you want fruitful multiplayer interaction, go play some other game

Actually combat boots are often designed to be as silent as possible, especially on hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt. -

We punched a cow to death. We skinned and guttered it. We made a campfire. We danced around the campfire, punching each another. I got a knife to the face for stealing the only unburnt steak. Best. Game. Ever. Just fix the crashes. -
Southern portion of map seem sparse these days?

Didn't the spawns become more scattered recently? We went to Berezino on a 40 people server and only saw like 4 guys in 2 hours. -
I would guess it depends on the plates and vest you're using, the distance, the type of the rifle, the type of ammunition.

Why not instant black screen when you are shot to the head, and a few seconds of screaming in agony on the ground if you were shot/hit somewhere else? If you die of food poisoning, some blood-puking animation, if you were killed by a fall from a large height... well, you know you are dead before you even hit the ground, so that's a black screen.

I saw the stickies, but that topic has links to certain issues. I was thinking of a topic where people could small suggestions, not fitting into already existing topics, but not being important enough to start new ones. There aren't many topic on game mechanics for example. But yeah, I've missed some ideas posted in that sticky. Sorry about that.

Ok, so first: I just a have a couple of small suggestions, but I'm not sure if they are worthy of starting a new topic. Maybe there could be a topic "General/small suggestions" to keep the forum clean? And now two suggestions about armor: - I know it might complicate the game too much, but maybe we could have modular tactical vests at some point? Also vests with replaceable ballistic plates. - The amount of stuff and armor you are carrying should affect movement speed. And the character should get tired after sprinting some distance, the heavier you are, the less you can run. This could be affected by some kind of a discrete skill system (remember training your character in GTA? Something like that, but slower)

Also: - Why do we need to keep running until the weapon is drawn if we were running when we started drawing it? - We should be able to quickly draw a pistol or a new mag from the chest holster, vests, a bit slower from the pants. Very slow from a backpack. New items like hip holsters for pistols and sawed-off shotguns (like in Mad Max) would be great. Maybe some holsters for quickly drawing a knife or a bayonette? - Someone in another topic suggested that if you quickly draw a pistol from a chest holster you should drop your current weapon on the ground. This is a good idea, items like slings (to prevent dropping) would fit great into this system. There could be different types of slings working better in CQB but worse in long range shooting etc. - Drawing a rifle from your back should be a bit faster. This is the apocalypse, adrenaline makes you act faster. Besides, the current speed is very slow, even for an untrained shooter.

Guys, the rubberbanding was present in 44.123800 and is still there, maybe something in 0.45 just amplified it. Yesterday I had to give up searching some buildings, because I rubbered back every time I approached the door. I noticed that if you are rubbering in one spot, you just need to walk a bit around it (take the other side of the road for example)
