First of all, I love this game, and I play it all the time, but something is wrong... its killing a lot of the fun people have imo. I went from elektro, looted the whole place, cherno, military base nw of balota, found a truck(AWESOME) I zoomed everywhere and was super excited that I could go anywhere in no time for once, so we went to basically every single city and checked everything...and then we looted the NWAF on multiple servers(boohoo sorry) then checked all the north towns, went through almost every building in ALL the major cities on the map, all military bases on multiple servers, probably a total of like 40 barracks. I found 1 - ak74, 1 - ak101. I found 40 mosin bullets, never seen a single new gun, never found a single bullet for any ammo for any gun except mosin shots and magnum bullets. I also tried persistent servers as well as non. My conclusion is that they are just not actually in the game? Or there is far too little places where good guns or ammo actually spawn and they have a less likelihood of spawning as crappy guns or just random garbage, something to that extent. To the point where you can look through basically the entire game(thanks to the truck) and not actually find any relevant bullets or any decent gear tbh. I'm not saying I know the problem, merely that one exists. A couple months ago we could actually spend 3-4 hours and have like 300 bullets, full military gear, a m4 or any rifle and food. I feel pvp is a huge part of this game, the lack of anything spawning anywhere specifically decent/new weapons/ammo is forcing me and my friends to just go human hunting with pistols and nothing else since we are no longer awarded with anything for spending 6+ hours looting for gear to actually put up a good fight. Does anyone else feel this way, like looting is just...broken for lack of a better word? Or do I have the worst luck NA. Now before people cry over me expressing myself my mind, remind yourself, it's just my opinion, you have your ways and ideology on how the game should be played, at least be constructive.

Confirmed issue, being worked on. Thanks for the soup and tacos.

How about making silencers actually work and have them for more guns while you're at it :)

Do NOT join servers at least until 3-5 min after a restart

Persistent server I just randomly get char reset all the time, but on normal servers if I rejoin a server while its still restarting and says 'waiting for host' it will fresh spawn me. 3 times in 3 days I've gotten geared finally and ended up freshie, I don't think there is anything more frustrating. Don't want it to happen to you.. At least let the servers restart for a couple minutes or at least don't continue to wait if it says waiting for host. -
I was just thinking while I was chillin in city sniping people it would be awesome to be out in the middle of no where and actually run into people. Like chill at the top of some big huge dam that can overlook everything in the middle of the forest and just set up a tent and have friends on different lookouts and just secure the entire area and move around as a big formation. You can't really do this or you're in for hours of doing nothing, I spend 90% of my time in Elecktro just because it's one of the few places where at least a little action happens. As much as some people think it would make cities horrible and a deathfest, I think that would only be the beginning and after a while you'd see a lot of people doing different things. Especially when vehicles come out and hopefully they will upgrade the current cities and give them some more variation and not be so predictable.

I think dayz needs to start teaming up with some sort of mental illness awareness charity/company. I dunno what people's problems are on this forum lol. They cannot be happy. -
Anybody remember when Dean Hall said...

I think 150~ is perfect, it's actually enough that you can travel deep inland and through bushes and still have a decent chance of finding someone. At this point if I'm not in Berez or Electro or the Airfield 99% of the time I won't ever see a single person. -
Well, this game is currently very basic and there are no vehicles you can't really do anything with groups other than run together to loot or kill everything. If we had cars and trucks and boats and helicopters a lot of play styles would open up. A lot more zombies that aren't glitchy would increase cause for better tactics. At this point there isn't anything to do other then loot then go on a killing spree. I've helped people, usually get killed when I get them a gun, you can't really do anything but force feed or kill people. Surviving is pretty simple with the amount of food and low lvl zombies so only thing that is challenging and fun is pvp hunting, but even then it's pretty rough with DESYNC!!! I kill 4 people then the last person I kill dies and his gun is on the ground and it shoots and I get killed...talk about bs. It's too hard to trust people unless you know they are new and clueless.

Dean Hall (@rocket2guns): DayZ is now back online with 0.43, results of the hotfix look very good with the major desync and lag issues gone I was just looking around, so the major issue was 'fixed' but I'd consider any level of desync a MAJOR issue. How would you feel if you had desync in a game like csgo, bf4, sc2. The game like it or not is based around PvP and messing around with people but also scavenging and what not, but that will eventually lead to a situation where you have to defend yourself. How can you be expected to do that when every time (currently) you get within like 100 meters of someone or you have a firefight me and every single one of my friends I play with get desync, not sometimes, like 90% of the time. Yesterday 30 shells went through someone standing still, they turn around and kill me... Was the worst feeling ever.. So clearly the major issue is still there, I haven't seen many new posts about it, is it currently being worked on? Is there a new issue? waiting on 64 bit servers? From my understanding the servers don't store data of items etc and instead the code is repeatedly spammed back and forth between players causing overload and desync? I really like the game so I would just like some information or clarification of what actually is causing desync constantly in fights on every server, for myself and all of my friends and if it is currently being worked on, and if its priority or considered a minor issue, because I consider it to be vital to the most core dynamics of the game and really needs fixed, and I haven't seen many posts with any relative information.

Please fixxxxxxxx. I see no confirmations or anything dev related to desync. On fresh restarted servers, still desync around people, guys still walk into a building and I unload a full 30 round clip directly into them and then they shoot me once and I'm dead...

All I want is for the silencer to work. Has the one of the easiest things to do, but so cheesy having it not work.

Damn placeholders.

Why are there basically no 3pp:off servers - grow a pair.
xploD replied to dubghall's topic in General Discussion
I completely agree that 1st person is the best. While it wouldn't make sense that 3rd person to be considered "hardcore" there should just be more clarification in game, since lots of people never look at forums or look up what exactly hardcore is, they probably think it's the same game but longer spawn timers or more bullet dmg, or maybe people just don't like the anxiety 1st person gives, they like to see people through walls and over fences so they know they are secure. Either way there seems to be enough hardcore players, but we definitely need more. It's a lot more fun, and way more realistic feeling which is the premise of the game. -
Has Anyone Else lost Faith in Dayz?
xploD replied to jamiereid_wow@hotmail.co.uk's topic in General Discussion
Just remember they are trying to focus on fixing issues that involve the actual functionality of the game currently and not content. Although I agree this patch is a failure, it will be salvaged. I expected the desync or be better, I can hardly actually pvp. Maybe that will change the most when 64 bit servers are done? I also thought zombie pathing might be in this one, hopefully the next one though. Haven't lost faith though. I've only been playing for a month, so we will see in about 3-6 months then I can give an actual educated answer. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
xploD replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Yup. DIdn't have hackers for the first 40 hours. Now almost every highpop I join I get hacked. I try to play with friends and we all died to hackers and lost everything. 4 days in a row every single highpop I get hacked. Not just once, not twice, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Completely ruined the game for me, won't be playing till the next patch or security update. I really like this game even in its current state. but over the past week I get dsync everytime I get close to someone, or I get hacked. -
I just bought the game and spent 6 hours straight playing it.. I managed to run from the shore all the way to the NW base, I didn't see a single person, I seen maybe 3 zombies. I got myself enough canned food and ammo and guns and water along the way to probably last me a week or more. I wandered around for another 4 hours town to town just in hopes to find someone, then wondered what I would do, be friends and wander around together for another couple hours? Or do I shoot him and wander around alone for another 4 hours before I see someone else. I don't know what I was expecting, but I cannot understand how this is even remotely fun? I just held W for 6 hours to literally do nothing but pick up some canned food and a gun? I'm sure some fun times can happen if a couple of people end up in a town, but is that excitement only to come once every couple hours? If zombies are horrible and of no threat, and you hardly ever see people then, wouldn't it be logical to either increase players or zombies per server? I can see it being better when zombies aren't retarded, also when vehicles are around so you dont have to run for 1 hour and could have more warfare. I can think of a lot of ways this game could become beast.. Different kinds of zombies? Faster, Slower, Crawling, Hiding. More guns, like 10-20 typical guns you'd find around Merica. Vehicles(coming soon): Boats, Helicopter, Biplane, Atv, SUV, Trucks, gocart, golfcart, motorbikes. WAY WAY WAY more zombies that are more responsive, almost to the point where you make one wrong move you'll be surrounded, or where there is actually an advantage of sticking together with people you meet so you can defend yourself against big hordes of zombies. AT LEAST 60-120 players per server so you might actually see someone every now and again, and make zombies scale with how many players. The ability to set up a secure trading post.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a suggestion lol. I was carrying 3 pistols(all 1911's) and I didn't have a clip for any of them but I had bullets, so I loaded a shell in each gun and put them on my action bar, but it was acting like they were all the same gun, so I couldn't push 1-2-3 and take them out one by one, I think you should be able too :) So it's either a bug, or a suggestion.

All servers going down (Why ? =Because it's Maintanence Day).

My servers went from like 300 to like 20 and they're all full? Almost all the servers are going down? How come? -

xploD replied to xploD's topic in General Discussion
Should probably make a sticky stating maintenance day/s time/s, unless I just couldn't find it. I'd probably realize if I was playing but I just kept joining and disconnecting 1 min later lol, would also help cut down on this question being asked every week. Thanks for answering tho :) pewpew in 2 hours. -
Took me about 6 hours, guy happens to be afk so I just gave him a nice tap on the head with a wrench. Haven't been killed yet though.

Ive come to realize the way you treat people is simply a reflection of self. Innate defects in the quality of their character. Fixable if they realize being kind and positive will always yield better results. I did make sure they were 40/40 servers just so I could find people, probably a silly choice going NW tho cause I couldn't find nothing lol. I don't mind KOSers since it could happen IRL so it's something I look forward too..in a way... Yes I read 3 dev blogs but I didn't read further thinking most of it would be mostly accomplished stuff, that and I wanted to just play the game since I JUST bought it, my bad. I've moved from somewhat disappointed to overall optimistic after thinking about the potential. My levels of excitement. 100+ man server & more zombie - 10/10 Vehicles - 8.5/10 Better performance and less glitches - 7/10 Hunting - 6/10 Hypothermia/Diseases - 8/10 Better AI - 8/10 One last question.. is there an ability to spawn with a friend or near them or do you have to try to find each other first? One last suggestion.. Maybe once the zombie limit raises, a few certain areas that are higher value that are VERY dangerous, a LOT of zombies or different kind of zombies where you would be forced to use teamwork in order to explore that certain area or be James Bond. What do you think?

I'm sorry for coming across as such a downer lol. I just never played a game like this and kind of had high expectations, I seen " dayz standalone" videos and they included heli's and vehicles, so I guess they must of been misleading people. I agree with everything you say. In my opinion the thing that would make this more exciting besides all of the coming additions is simply more people. I know you stated it's probably coming soon. But I think that would be one of the biggest 'fun boosters' having more people with more dynamic spawning points so every town would have a higher potential of confrontation instead of like 40% in two towns and down to like 5% in the further towns.

I read all the Alpha warnings. I've also researched things, but as you read, I asked QUESTIONS. I understand lots of things will be implemented, and I also added things that are not on the 'to be added' list. Will it ever be lots more zombies? Will it ever be more than 40 players per server or is that what they wanted? Also is it common to spend 6 hours and not a see a single person? Do you usually end up spending 1-3 hours just holding W before you see or do anything relevant? I know vehicles will be a big change, but also having more than 40 people will as well.
