I've shot it from 150 meters before but try not to push it any closer than that. Sure its loud but if you want to be a sniper than it is logical to be at least that far from zombies and the target.

I know that one will knock them unconscious if it doesn't kill them. But I can say that head shots kill in 1 bullet. How I know this? I shot a poor survivor in the face from 10meters away while he was on a deer stand... :D
  3. I don't know what's so fun about waiting in a corner for so long. I much rather have an adventure full highs and lows. Take some of the posts talking about how they kill.(http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4253) Is your style of playing still fun? One more thing, the kills you get may give you the same humanity impact as all the others but are of such low class that it has little value. The same goes for your deaths, the risks for each kill is so low and when you do die its not a major loss for you since you spawn 10 mins away. To sum up, I think you are a low risk and low reward bandit.

Does anyone have an idea of how far you can be without zombies noticing your shot?

    The Bandit Code

I could never follow these rules. It solely for the reason that I consider my self a hunter and not a bandit at all. In my book there is prey(bandit), prey(survivor, not really), prey(zombie) and the guy who ran away/DC. My rules are to have a gun ready and to turn my head like an owl. This would work if it was for a community/clan of bandits sharing the same goal but not around here.
  8. If I was to die to a crossbow I would rage so much. I pity those you kill you evil being. Though I guess my love for the Markov is just as bad. I especially love doing it whenever I re spawn and just tear through the coastal hotspots.
  9. The looting system does need tweaking... well so far... I love that aspect of it' date=' more zombies forcing people to work together in towns. That has to be the one real benefit of staying a survivor for as long as possible: you are at least slightly more trustworthy looking than an outright bandit. [/quote'] I find the new patch will make bandits more of hunters than opportunistic killers. Having shoot outs in the middle of town is no longer the smart move. Maybe the solo survivors and bandits will think twice before shooting on sight, it will lessen the self defence situations the survivors cause to themselves. Still whatever the devs and survivors throw at us we will adapt to survive since that is the reason we are bandits in the first place. (unless you are a souless killer)

Be a sport, hunt in the north

Without a doubt the North is the best. You find some of the better skilled and kitted players there. Only problem is that it gets lonely quickly.

Your first time being a bandit.

After looking through my binoculars(while hidden in a tree) I saw 2 guys 30m away sprinting towards me. Had a 5 second think and decided to kill them. Gained bandit status and just became addicted to the hunter aspect.
