I have never been spawn killed, neither have any of my friends and together we have over 1000 hours of DayZ. I think you make spawn camping a bigger thing than it is just because you want to keep death as free fast travel when you dont like your spawn...

And dont forget people who lie flat of roofs and scout the whole city without any risk to be spotted. How can ANYONE defend this? It ruins the whole game!

Ok, follwing situation: I got a slingshot that put me into a room without a door to open, meaning I am trapped. I know there are glitches to walk through walls and I need them now or I am fucked. I know noone wants to expose himself on the forum, so just add me on Steam, name is raoul9753

For everyone defending third person, defend this exploit. This poor guy spend like 10 minutes scouting the camp from every angle, but since I could perfectly keep an eye on him while he couldnt possible spot me, I could have just shot him and he would have no chance at all. Lucky for him I am not an Asshole and since I had everything I wanted I stayed out of sight and then left once I had a free run. Still, I only had to wait a bit and bam, free kill he couldnt possible defend himself from.

I made a post about how death should be a threat some time ago and the story that made me afraid of myself is in there, but then I thought "Maybe other people have stories like that too..." So I start and you post your own psycho stories. So I was in a little village, looting stuff when suddendly a freaking Bambie attacked me. Thats no rare sight to me, being full geared, Crossbow, Axe, Backpack and getting hit by a fresh spawn Bambi. Thats one of the main points whe I support a death timer, so death is no "I hate this spawn, lets respawn". This time I decided that I wouldnt give him a free fast travel and just knocked him down with my fists. When I walked away, this guy had the nerfs to use his voicechat to say "Dude, just kill me, this spawn sucks, its too far to the good spots!" That moment something in me snaped. I turned around and broke his leg. Then I bandaged him so he would not bleed to death, forced food and water down his throat till I was sure he was at least dark green energized and hydrated and left him crippled in the middle of nowhere. My last words before I left him with a broken leg but enough energy so it would take him at least one or two hours to starve were "enjoy your spawn" I didnt kill him. But leaving him there felt kinda good...

Just a thought, wouldnt a death timer make spawn camping actually LESS attractive for spawn campers? People would be more careful, die less and even if they kill someone, the respawn takes a time. I could be wrong, but wouldnt that make spawn camping really boring when they had to wait like forever?

I play for... let me see... nearly 120 hours and Ive not once got sniped at spawn. So I guess the game will survive it...

So... people would actually have a reason to avoid dying? Sounds exactly like what I want. I want something people dont like, cause you SHOULD NOT like dying!

After playing experimental on servers that only allowed first person view... And I noticed it makes the game way better. Its more thrillng just to look around cornors, cause you know the moment you can see whats down that street, whatever is down that street can see you. You cant lie flat on a rooftop and scout the area with 0 risk of being spotted, you cant cover below windows and look out while you are 100% save. Just cut out the thrid person option all together. I am not really sure but I guess it could also help against these "hiding in wall" hackers... Guess when they would have to use first person all they would see while inside a wall would be a wall... (But I could be wrong about this...)

Plus, it totaly ruins all base building we might get in the future. Whats the point of building a camp in the woods, when people can just scout the woods with a helicopter and lay waste to your base before you can say "Fuck why did they ruin the game with helicopters?"

Maybe you should play "My little pony online"! Or this game from SoE... whats it called Z1D1? I heard it has PvE server...

It happened to me at least 5 times... The last time I was so pissed I jucks knocked him out and he had the nerfs to ask "Could you just kill me? This spawn sucks, its so far from good loot"... So I broke his leg, bandaged him so he didnt bleed to death, force fed and drink him so he dont starve and left him crippled in the "bad spawn". Just in my defense: I didnt kill him!

Why is everyone talking about looting? I dont think you get what I want, I want to make death punishing. Yes, you DONT WANT to wait 10 minutes before you can play again. Thats because you DONT WANT to die. Because death means 10 minutes forced time out!

Yeah I saw your post, but it goes in a different direction from what I want. My focus is not on "Dont loot own body" its overall making death punishing. If you could just log on another Server, its basicly the same "I have nothing to lose" problem whehn you play alone. Sill, you get my beans cause the idea isnt bad either. Its just not what I wish for in this thread^^

I mean, I see topics every day that would even be a rolleye in a Beta, but for an Alpha they just make me lose faith in humanity... Alphas are glitchs, Alphas are bugs. Just to make it clear, when this is the game: This is the Alpha: There is no roof, there is no wall pint or carpet, so complaining that you dont like the wall color or that the floor feels unconfortable is just plain stupid. You wouldnt go into the house and complain that its not save from the weathert yet, because obviously IT HAS NO ROOF YET! You wouldnt complain that it lacks privacy, because obviously there are no Doors yet! So why do you go into an Alpha and then complain that it doesnt gives you everything you expect from a FINISHED GAME?

Just change it a bit. Hello doggy, Hello Ducky... I mean comeone we have Pipsi in the game^^
