Probably the devs increased the sway to make long range shooting more realistic and difficult, and thus deter KoS sniping.

Now and then I watch the video again. Can't help smiling each time.
-
Really strange. And notice how zombie didn't react to you or your friend.
-
When you are in the server selection screen, is the "friends" list actually implemented? I'd guess not.
-
Once you spawn, go south (keeping the sea at your left). If you sprint it'll take no more than half an hour to get to Elektro. And most probably you'll encounter other survivors on the road. Whether you'll survive these encounters or not, that's another matter...

Can Barracks windows be shot through? A test. [1:01]
Robert Neville replied to Etherimp's topic in Gallery
In 0.47 I tried to shoot a zombie through a window in a military barrack. The bullet didn't pass, but the zombie did when he got alerted and started chasing me! Well, at least the devs have fixed zombie clipping now. -
You're missing out a big part of the game: human interaction. Meeting other people, helping them, trade items, exploring together, defend each other, and basically survive in a post-apocalyptic world. From your point of view instead, there is not much left to do once you kill other players and scavenge their gear.
-
Being unable to know how you died is a big part of the atmosphere of the game. A killfeed would ruin it. No to a zombie kill counter for the same reason.
-
I agree with the OP. Right now, the biggest issue with zombies is that once you kill one, it immediately respawns and somehow is able to retrack you again, like a Terminator. It doesn't make much sense being attacked by the same identical zombie again and again. And the fact that they can spot you miles away doesn't help. I've opened a bugreport/feature suggestion for this, feel free to vote it up or down: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=15499

Hi everybody, You can break a leg, and use a splint (crafted with sticks and bandages/rags) to fix it. Has anybody experienced a broken arm? If yes, what are the penalties for it, and how do you fix it?

It's the infamous "invisible zombie" bug. Very annoying. Please go to the bugreport page and vote it up.

Very funny video, thanks for sharing. Here's some beans for you.

Ammo box and protector case spawns?
Robert Neville replied to Tyrianrage's topic in New Player Discussion
I've found protector cases in fire stations. I do not know whether they still spawn there in 0.48. Never found an ammo box. -
Green Mountain Sanctuary. My first visit. My last.
Robert Neville replied to VIDEOSAUR (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
What's the server IP? Post it here so we can avoid it. Every time someone tries to make a "safe area" it is rapidly exploited by gangs of military madcaps. -
Not yet. So far, only rotten fruits/vegetables make you sick. Worn/damaged food is perfectly edible, but this might change in future versions of DayZ.

Some people are just cheaters. They can't help it.

Yes, zombies aren't able to climb ladders at all (and they shouldn't). They can climb stairs; however, they get confused if you climb more than one flight, so you might leave them behind in this way, unless they follow on your heels. Shooting zombies will attract others: don't do this and use a melee weapon instead, unless they're killing you. I was exploring the fire station in Chernogorsk today when I got attacked by two zombies which broke my legs. As I couldn't melee anymore and was bleeding badly I resorted to shoot them. Then I quickly applied a splint and climbed three flights of stairs. I could hear other zombies below me but they didn't come upstairs. Which brings to tip# 7: always carry a splint with you. I do, and today it saved my ass.

I agree. Great videos. Thanks for your tips, Aggathor.

DayZ Standalone - How To Make The New Leather Sack
Robert Neville replied to TheVolatileGamer140's topic in Gallery
True, but it's interesting to see the crafted object in video anyway. After you killed the zombie I was wondering whether you could skin him too to make a zombie sack... -
Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]
Robert Neville replied to ianaconda's topic in Suggestions
This is something I thought about, too. We should have bikes - not foldable ones only but normal city bikes and mountain bikes too. Of course they'll be too bulky to be carried in your inventory so you should be using them as a vehicle. -
So hows the alpha progressing?
Robert Neville replied to peteed1985's topic in New Player Discussion
Note that not all doors can be opened, only a few of them. Also, sometimes the open/close icon you get when approaching a door is not related to that door but to another one in a room nearby/below. It's a known bug. -
Apologies for the rookie question. How do you zoom in/out with the long range scope after you attach it to the Mosin? The file says that it can be manually set from 200 to 800m. Thanks in advance.

Zombies should respawn after 7-10 minutes, not immediately
Robert Neville posted a topic in Suggestions
I have posted this bugreport/suggestion here: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=15499 Feel free to vote it up (or down, should you be against it). With the new zombie respawning feature, gameplay has worsened as we are practically facing an endless stream of zombies that come to attack us one after each other, making them practically invulnerable. Hence, it is pointless and frustrating to kill a zombie as a clone of it will immediately re-attack us afterwards. The number of zombies in the game should be high, but not infinite. Let me make an example: Case A: a lone survivor hides in a house. Case B: a team of 30 well-fed and machinegun-equipped survivors with a lot of ammo combs the city, hunting and exterminating all zombies. It would be normal to expect that in Case B the city would be zombie-free, at least for a while. Instead, as zombies regenerate, the city in Case B holds in any moment the same number of zombies than in Case A - which makes no sense. Timing should be changed so zombies respawn no earlier than 7-10 minutes after being killed.
